Reviews of Fairy washing machines

Fairy washing machineThe desire to acquire a good washing machine on a budget is quite achievable if you consider the Fairy brand. Fairy washing machines come in a wide range of models, including the SMP and SM series, each with up to a dozen models. Let's take a look at consumer reviews of the most reputable models. Are they really that good, or should you choose another brand?

Fairy SMP 40N

Varvara Alekseevna

Date of purchase: March 2013.

Advantages: small, light, roomy, can be moved from one room to another.

Fairy SMP 40 nDisadvantages: does not drain water completely, you have to lift the machine to drain the water.

I used a Siberia washing machine for about 30 years, then it broke, and I decided to choose the simplest one possible semi-automatic washing machine with spinThe store clerk recommended the inexpensive Fairy SMP 40N machine, claiming it had good reviews. I had my doubts, it was plastic itself, the lids were plastic, and the whole thing looked a bit unreliable. The price was attractive, so I decided to buy it. I liked how lightweight it was; my old Siberia had to be dragged out of the closet and lugged to the bathroom. The Fairy is three times lighter, which is a huge plus for my arthritis.

The Fairy SMP 40N is quite easy to use. I figured it out almost immediately, washed bed linens, then blouses and a sweater. Everything fit in the drum and washed beautifully. The spin is also excellent; I recommended a friend to buy the same one. One drawback stood out. After washing, the water does not drain completely from the tank.I have to tilt the machine to let the residue drain, but that doesn't bother me. The Fairy 40 gets a five from me.

Margarita Kadatskikh

Date of purchase: May 2011.

Pros: I didn't see any.

Disadvantages: semi-automatic, drains water poorly, centrifuge doesn't work, tank lid is broken, hose comes off... I could go on and on.

I had an old Indesit automatic washer at my dacha for a long time. Now I realize how great it was back then. And I realized this thanks to the purchase of the "magnificent" Fairy SMP 40N. Actually, it wasn't even me who bought it; my husband was tempted by the low price, thinking it would be good for the dacha. At first, I agreed with him, but After the third wash, the latch on the tank lid broke..

We didn't take it in for service; we were too lazy to take it in. My husband tinkered with something, and the lid started closing. A year later, the centrifuge broke, and now it sits idle in the shed at the dacha. I take it out occasionally to wash the garden rags without spinning. I should have read the reviews earlier; they describe everything eloquently. Before the Fairy SMP 40N washing machine broke, using it was truly unpleasant:

  • she tore things;
  • the water did not drain well;
  • the hose kept falling off, I had to tie it with a wire;
  • water had to be poured in with a bucket.

I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather buy a used automatic washing machine on Avito than deal with semi-automatic washing machines like the Fairy again. For our grandmothers 50 years ago, such a machine would have been a luxury, but we live in the 21st century and can afford something better. Rating: 2.

Fairy SMP 32

Natalia Sergeevna

Date of purchase: February 2012.

FAIRY SMP 32Pros: very light, compact, fits in a closet, washes clothes with a minimum amount of detergent, spins well.

Disadvantages: not enough space for things, you can’t wash large items.

I live alone in a shared apartment. I don't have room for an automatic washing machine, and I don't really need one. I don't let dirty laundry accumulate; I try to wash everything at once. I was looking for a small washing machine that had a spin cycle and took up minimal space.

I looked at the reviews and ultimately chose the Fairy SMP 32. It's very small, yet it has two compartments, a tank, and a centrifuge. I didn't like the short cord, so I had to connect the machine through an extension cord. The machine also doesn't hold a lot of items, but it's plenty large enough for me. The only downside is that you can't wash large items like blankets, duvets, or pillows. Overall, the Fairy SMP 32 is a good and affordable washing machine – I'd give it a 4.

Fairy CM 251

Ivan Shestakov

Date of purchase: June 2014.

Fairy CM 251Pros: no bigger than a bucket, washes well, costs pennies.

Disadvantages: For this money I didn’t find any disadvantages.

I got divorced three years ago and am living a happy bachelor life. I live a modest life, so I decided to save money and bought a washing machine called the Fairy SM 251 for $30, especially since the reviews were good. There's nothing special about it: you load 2.5 kg of laundry and wash it. You have to spin it by hand, as it doesn't have a spin function.

I'm happy with the quality of the equipment, although by and large it's primitive and there's not much that can break. You put the machine in the bathroom, fill it with hot water directly from the faucet, throw in your clothes, plug it in, and off you go. Then you open the door, pour the water over the edge, and everything is fine. I give the Fairy SM 251, this "antediluvian technological marvel," an A-.

Fairy CM 253

Elena Fedoseeva

Purchase date: March 23, 2014

Fairy CM 253Advantages: small size, high quality washing, water saving.

Disadvantages: poor quality case materials, weak lid and primitive control panel.

I bought a Fairy SM 253 washing machine specifically for my dacha. I already had a Fairy SM 151 with an actuator; it lasted for four years, then broke down and was expensive to repair, so I bought a similar one. What I like about these machines is the size. You can't fit an automatic in the trunk, but this one fits easily, and you only need to heat a little water. I usually heat a 10-liter bucket of water with a kettle at my dacha; it's enough for both washing and rinsing after gardening. It is easy to operate, since there is no electronics in it, only mechanics.

My five-year-old granddaughter calls the washing machine a trash can; indeed, it does resemble a small trash container. Jokes aside, the Fairy CM 253 really does a good job, you can't fault it. If it were made of better plastic and had a metal hatch, it would be priceless.

Fairy SMP 20

Lyudmila MordvinovaFairy SMP 20

Date of purchase: April 2014.

Pros: washes and spins perfectly.

Disadvantages: I didn’t find any.

I needed a small washing machine with a spin function. The Fairy SMP 20 is just that—it's got nothing fancy. A mechanical timer allows you to set the washing time, another timer sets the spin. The machine is small, so it holds very little laundry—2 kg. The Fairy SMP 20 gets a 5-star rating.

Fairy SMP 60 N

Ekaterina Slyusareva

Date of purchase: January 2015.Fairy SMP 60 N

Advantages: low price, spaciousness.

Disadvantages: unpleasant plastic smell when pouring hot water.

The Fairy SMP 60 N washing machine is very good; for the price, I didn't expect it to wash so well. The drum holds all the laundry, but the centrifuge isn't very capacious, so you have to spin it in two batches. It claims to have a 6 kg load capacity, but in reality I put a lot more in it and it still washes well. After a couple of months of use, I realized I can't use very hot water; it starts to smell like plastic, and then all my laundry smells too. As long as I don't wash my clothes in boiling water, it's fine. I give the washing machine a B+.

In conclusion, as you can see, reviews vary widely: some are bad, some are average, and some are good. But keep in mind that they're talking about different washing machine models, and their opinions are entirely subjective. Perhaps you'll share your thoughts on Fairy washing machines, and we'll publish them on our website.

We bought a Fairy-2m mini washing machine on a whim. After the second (!) wash, the drain hose broke. This isn't surprising, as it's made of a material no thicker than newsprint and far less durable. I contacted the Russian retailer asking for advice on where to buy a similar one, but they were silent as a guerrilla. Naturally, the machine was made in China. We tried a couple more washes, fitting a regular plug into the hole, but in the end, the plug also didn't stay in place. I want to warn anyone considering buying such a machine in the future: don't buy anything from an online store in Russia; you'll definitely be scammed. And secondly, don't buy cheap Chinese products; they're a waste of your money and a waste of raw materials.

I bought a Fairy SMP-60n washing machine three months ago, and it broke today, November 19th. The motor pulley broke. My husband is amazed at what kind of metal it's made of—it's pure crap. Everything is poorly made. I don't recommend it!

It is usually made from silumin.

I bought a Fairy SMP 50N washing machine in January 2018. It's a decent machine for a rural home, but I don't know if I got a defective one. When I wash, water pours out the sides, making it look like I'm in the middle of a lake. Otherwise, it's great, and the spin cycle is excellent.

I bought a Fairy SMP-32 today. I'm already wondering how to return it to the store. The water from the wash tank goes into the centrifuge tank.

I have the same problem with this brand of washing machine, and it happened after the first wash. I don't know whether to keep washing it or not. By the way, do stores take back washing machines like this that they sold for 4,500 rubles?

  5. Gravatar Inna Inna:

I bought a Fairy SMP-50N, it ran for 10 minutes, and then started making a terrible grinding noise. I tried to drain the water, but it wouldn't drain. I scooped it out manually.
