Countertop dishwasher reviews

Reviews of tabletop dishwashersWhen buying a dishwasher for the first time, people often wonder what size it should be. After all, the kitchen where the appliance will be installed is often so small that an appliance comparable in size to a washing machine is unlikely to fit.

However, for this situation, manufacturers offer compact dishwashers, which people call "countertop" dishwashers. They can indeed be placed on the counter, but some even fit comfortably in the cabinet under the sink. But how does this affect the capacity of dishes and the cleaning quality? This is the main question we decided to find out from reviews of people who use countertop dishwashers.

General impression

We have a small dishwasher in our family because there's no room for a larger one. I'm very happy with it. It's enough for a family of three; we only wash dishes once or twice a day. It fits almost everything except baking sheets. It only fits one saucepan, plus a few small items. What I want to say is that even though it’s a small car, it’s not a waste of money, it also washes everything perfectly. I don't argue that bigger is better.

A small countertop dishwasher is better than nothing. I bought my Bosch dishwasher a few years ago. It cleans perfectly, which you can't achieve with your hands. But the annoying thing is that you can't fit pots and pans in it. After upgrading my kitchen cabinets, I moved the dishwasher from the countertop to the sink, and it's even more convenient and spacious now, and, by the way, it's quieter. In short, if you don't have a big dishwasher, get a countertop one, and you'll never have family squabbles over who's doing the dishes.

My advice: don't get a small dishwasher, find space for a larger one. Sometimes 45 cm of space isn't enough for me, so I'm already thinking about full-size car.

I've had the most basic Bosch tabletop dishwasher for five years now. I love it because it cleans dishes to a sparkling shine. Of course, there are some downsides:

  • Firstly, it makes a lot of noise. When I put the machine in the closet, the noise decreased;
  • Secondly, you can't wash large dishes. Frying pans need to have movable handles, and pots have to be washed by hand under the tap.

Overall, even this dishwasher is a real salvation from my wife!

Our kitchen is just under 6 square meters, and we'll be installing a compact dishwasher soon. We have two small children (close in age), and we often wash bottles—three times a day, that's six bottles plus dishes. The dimensions of this dishwasher are quite satisfactory; of course, we could buy a larger one. But we already had a larger one, and it just sat idle until it rotted. We had to pile up the dishes, which is inconvenient. If something needs to be washed, you always wash it by hand.

I think small sinks on a normal cycle are better than piling up dishes. Plus, with a machine like this, there'll be room for two more drawers. So, I don't plan on cramming everything into it, and I'll wash the largest pots by hand.

Bosch dishwashers

AnfBosch SKS 60E18RU

After reading numerous positive reviews of the Bosch SKS 60E18RU dishwasher, I decided to purchase it myself. The manufacturer and dimensions were the main criteria. We installed the dishwasher directly on the countertop and connected it ourselves, purchasing an additional drain hose for this purpose, as the factory one was too short.

The first load was unsuccessful because I placed the plates incorrectly, and they didn't wash properly, although they squeaked. The machine hums loudly. A little over three months have passed, and I can draw the following conclusions:

  • It's a bit small for a family of 4, it doesn't fit all the dirty dishes, and you have to wash the pots one by one.
  • The quality of the wash is low, it is not clear why.
  • It takes up a lot of space, which leaves no room for cooking.
  • Inconvenient basket for spoons and forks.

These drawbacks prompted me to sell the car after six months to buy a floor-standing one with a larger capacity. I should note that they are exactly the same price.

I've been using a Bosch SKS 60E18RU dishwasher for four years now, and I don't want to part with it. I had long doubts about whether I needed a countertop dishwasher, as I have a family of six. However, my doubts quickly disappeared. I'd rather turn on the machine twice a day than let dishes pile up.Bosch SKS 41E11

I like the 35-minute wash cycle, but I use the 2-hour cycle for cleaning the gas grilles and range hood. I use inexpensive tablets for cleaning, cutting them into three pieces. Buying a large pack of tablets (60) is very cost-effective, and the cleaning results are excellent. I always add both salt and rinse aid.

My dishwasher broke after eight years, so I decided to buy a new Bosch SKS 41 E11. The new machine is slightly larger, which is a plus because it fits more dishes. I'm happy with it; it cleans everything cleanly and quietly.

We have three children, which forced my wife to do a lot of dishes, so we decided to buy a dishwasher. The purchase came during the recession, when the dollar soared. We had no choice but to buy a Bosch SKS 41E11 dishwasher from a display case. Fortunately, it's a well-known brand, and we've had no complaints so far.

Thanks to careful selection of detergents, the dishes sparkle; even hand-washed tea glasses were even cleaner. Pans and pots were perfect after the third wash. Dishes are completely dry within 15 minutes of finishing the program. Overall, we're happy with the machine and highly recommend it.

I have a Bosch SKS 40E22 countertop dishwasher, and I can't say anything good about it. The worst part is it doesn't wash dishes well; I have to rewash them, not to mention the pots and pans, which don't fit in with the plates. And washing a single pot takes over an hour, which is a bit pricey. I'll give it to my mother-in-law; she'll either be happy or suffer...

Electrolux dishwashers

Kondakov Nikolay

I bought an Electrolux ESF 2300 OH dishwasher and really liked it because it cleans dishes well. However, after a few months, it stopped heating water due to a broken tachometer. The tachometer has a magnet that broke in half. The speed isn't adjustable, so the heating element doesn't turn on. I used superglue and glued the magnet back together, and everything worked fine.

After using an Electrolux ESF 2440 dishwasher for seven years, we bought an ESF 2300 OW, also from Electrolux. It was a good machine and cleaned perfectly. But within a year, it started breaking down, first with the door, then with the water level sensor, which prevented the water from heating up at all, even though it was filling. We had a long wait for parts, so we took it to the garage and bought a Candy instead, thinking Electrolux dishwashers had become disgusting. But I'll tell you what, the Candy is incredibly noisy, and after trying to soundproof it, it actually leaked. Ultimately, we'll fix the Electrolux and be happy.

Gromilin IlyaElectrolux ESF 2200 DW

I have an Electrolux ESF 2200 DW dishwasher; it's excellent, efficient, and affordable. Even with a few drawbacks, I give it a 5. There are two of us, and we live in a Khrushchev-era apartment, where kitchen space is very limited. We built the dishwasher under the sink. To save money and ensure environmental safety, we use baking soda with half a teaspoon of the cheapest dishwasher detergent added to the dishwasher, and we add "Extra" salt to the ion exchanger. Once every 3 months we wash the machine with a degreaser.

The only downside is that the start button broke after a year and a half of use. But I wasn't upset. I took a Phillips-head screwdriver, disassembled the door, and removed the button, which I can resolder myself or take to a repairman. The repair will cost $1.50–$2 at most, so it's not a big deal.

Erofeev Alexander

The Electrolux ESF 2200 DW dishwasher is quite ordinary. After four years of use, it started leaking, causing a flood. The cause was a burnt-out water level sensor. In short, the dishwasher didn't last the five years promised by the manufacturer. Furthermore, the quality doesn't match the price, especially since it was assembled in Poland.

Candy dishwashers

I've been using the Candy CDCF 6 machine for three years now, and I'm happy with it:

  • It's compact. There's simply no room for a larger dishwasher, but this one fits in the corner next to the sink.
  • It's quite roomy. For a family of two adults and one child, you don't need more, otherwise you'll end up with a hoard of dishes that will smell bad.
  • It cleans well if you arrange the dishes correctly and clean the filter regularly. And be sure to use high-quality detergents.

The model's drawback is the noisy drain pump; you can't turn it on at night, which is a shame.

Candy-CDCF62It's also difficult to use the capsules; they produce too much foam, as they're designed for larger dishes. You have to rinse them additionally. Nevertheless, the machine is good for both the price and quality.

havochka888

I bought a Candy CDCF 6 dishwasher for my parents' birthday about three years ago. We'd never used one before. The main thing we were looking for was the size, making sure it fit in the kitchen. Honestly, we were thrilled with the dishwasher's cleaning results at first; everything was perfectly clean. That joy ended when the holes in the spray arm started clogging. This degrades the washing performance, and if poorly washed dishes are left to dry in the dishwasher, they become difficult to clean.

To ensure better washing, you have to place the plates less frequently than the number of compartments in the basket, and therefore the volume of dishes is reduced. The pill compartment door doesn't work well; sometimes it simply doesn't open and the pill stays in place. In short, you have to do a lot of extra work with such a helper, including pre-cleaning the dishes. My husband and I bought a Bosch machine, and there's nothing like it. Therefore, we advise against skimping on the manufacturer.

We have a Candy CDCP 6/E dishwasher at our dacha, and there wasn't enough space for a larger one. It's a bit small; a Candy with 8 classic place settings would be better. Large plates fit tightly in this one. And the tablets are awkward to use; you have to break them in half.

As you can see, different dishwashers have both positive and negative reviews. It all depends on the individual's needs, requirements, and capabilities. When choosing a dishwasher, focus on the technical aspects, not on individual opinions.
