At a higher temperature, it was possible to clean blackened pans, but it does a poor job of dealing with porridge or burnt noodles.
This dishwasher is perfectly adequate for two adults and one child, as long as we use it a couple of times a day. Its dish rack isn't the most convenient, but that's manageable. We use inexpensive detergent from Auchan.

The compact Indesit ones are good, they clean well even with inexpensive detergent, this thing is more than enough for a couple of people.
I've had a Hotpoint dishwasher for years. It cleans well. Even if something does happen to it, it's already paid for itself a hundred times over.
