About a year ago, we installed water meters and a new electricity meter in our apartment. When my husband and son wash dishes, I'm horrified. It goes something like this: they wash a plate with suds, while the tap runs full blast, then rinse everything thoroughly, dry it, and the water runs all the time. Meanwhile, someone might call or want to change the channel with the remote control. It's a total disaster—so much water is wasted.

Despite this, my idea to buy a dishwasher was rejected, citing its lack of need. But I eventually prevailed and set three criteria for my selection: compactness so it would fit on the countertop, a gray metallic color, and simple controls. Based on the brand, I immediately thought I wanted a Bosch. The reality turned out a little differently.

The Bosch SKS50E18 RU dishwasher I'd been eyeing, although compact, didn't fit on the countertop—or rather, it looked awful in that space. The microwave would have had to squeeze in, too. After much trial and error, the appliance was installed in a tower 3 meters from the sink. It was quite far, which is why my husband refused to hook it up. A plumber did the job, and he charged me $40, but there were no other options.

As expected, I read the instructions before turning on the dishwasher, but I didn't understand a thing. The translation was terrible, the text and images were spread across completely different pages, making it difficult to understand what was going on. It took me a long time to figure out how to set the water hardness and the dosage. So, to avoid confusion, I decided to use Finish 3-in-1 tablets.

While exploring the washing modes, I came to the conclusion that it is inconvenient to put dirty dishes in baskets, as they drip and you get dirty.

So, a rule was introduced: dry your dishes with a napkin after eating and shake off all food residue and debris. Arranging the plates and other dishes is a real art, ensuring everything fits. The dishwasher turned out to be a bit small for three people, but it still fits pots, a stovetop grate, and pans. I wash almost all my dishes on the ECO cycle; the glass survives, and the pots and pans are clean.

Nothing has happened since I started using it, except that I never washed the filter, even though it's supposed to be done after every cycle. I fixed that today. Overall, I'm happy with it; it does its job and uses little water, only 7 liters. At first, I wanted to check inside to see what stage the wash cycle was at. I run it in the evenings; it's silent, and there's no annoying beeping sound at the end. The dishes aren't perfectly dry, but I'm happy with it.

Four years ago, I bought a dishwasher when I decided to retire. I wanted to save my hands and get closer to civilization. Initially, I wasn't considering Bosch; I wanted something simpler and cheaper, but I couldn't find what I needed. This machine can be installed anywhere thanks to its compact size. My son hooked it up for me; following the instructions, everything was easy.

It holds almost everything, including plates and pots. However, you can't wash plastic. The wash cycle is five, but I only use three:dishwasher Bosch SKS 50E18 EU

  • delicate (glass);
  • intensive (pots, pans) and
  • normal (plates, spoons and forks).

I use different detergents: sometimes tablets, sometimes powder, and even rinse aid and salt. Everything comes out perfectly. One time, a design came off the glasses my son put in the basket; it turned out those dishes weren't washable. Over the years, I haven't had a single problem, and I'm happy with the purchase.

I'm a huge fan of gadgets, unusual gadgets, dishes, and other things, so my small kitchen is cluttered with hanging items and there's no room. However, I got tired of washing dishes by hand, so my husband took over first. Having experienced the task firsthand, he happily installed the machine I bought on the countertop.

The dishwasher isn't all that small, as it includes a rack, pots, and ladles. We have three kids in our family, and we load it once or twice a day. Regarding the quality of washing, I would say this: plates and mugs are washed, but pots not always. Sometimes the forks and spoons don't get clean, but that's rare, so we're happy with the purchase. We used to wash them in a narrow dishwasher, but this one holds about the same amount and doesn't clean any better. The most important thing is that you have to bend over every time you put something in, so I've come to love my little one more.

When compared to cheaper dishwashers, you realize that the Bosch is more economical. It cleans dishes well, and I mostly use the quick cycle, with the exception of baby dishes. These need to be washed with hot water, which is the intensive cycle. The machine fits perfectly in the kitchen. I recommend it; it's an indispensable item.
