Samsung Washer and Dryer Combo Reviews

Samsung Washer and Dryer Combo ReviewsDrying clothes in a city apartment is problematic these days. The poor environmental conditions prevent wet laundry from being hung on the balcony, and using a floor-mounted dryer inevitably leads to dampness and mold. A drying cabinet or dryer won't help either—only owners of spacious apartments can afford bulky units. But there is a solution: buying a washer-dryer. Samsung also offers similar units, although reviews of the functionality and quality of these 2-in-1 appliances are mixed.

Positive opinions of people

I spent a long time wandering around appliance stores looking for a high-quality, smart washing machine. I asked salespeople for help, but to no avail—nothing met my exacting standards. Finally, I had to settle on a washing machine, and I chose the Samsung WD806U2GAGD with a drying function.

I've been using it for over a year now and have formed my own impression of its performance. I can tell you right away – I'm absolutely delighted!

The machine's compact size is a welcome feature. It's small, but holds a decent amount of laundry for its compact size. It dries 5 kg per cycle, leaving the drum half-empty, ensuring perfect drying results. The process takes a long time, but the clothes go straight into the closet! By the way, this is a fundamental issue, since there is no possibility to hang clothes at home or on the balcony.

The machine has a plethora of features. I was particularly impressed by the sterilization option, which blasts laundry with hot air. The basic program selection makes it easy to find the right setting. The washer also features an indicator and a sound system. It washes perfectly, rinses out detergent perfectly, and even irons clothes.

Another plus is the silent motor. The motor easily reaches its maximum speed, which is completely unnoticeable: vibration is minimal, and there's no hum. Thanks to the low noise level, I can set the washer to run at night and sleep soundly.

As for drawbacks, I only noticed one. The Samsung is very sensitive to water pressure. When the pressure in the pipes dropped, the machine would stop and automatically terminate the cycle. I had to wait and postpone the wash. But after a year of use, I haven't had a single malfunction.

I call my Samsung WD806U2GAGD a miracle. It's a joy to use: I load my dirty laundry into the drum in the evening, sleep soundly, and in the morning I take out clean laundry and put it straight away in the closet. I only have to iron my shirts. Otherwise, it's fully automatic.Samsung WD806U2GAGD

Additionally, I can note the following advantages of a washer-dryer:

  • silent even during spin cycle;
  • compactness (the machine is narrower than its more expensive “competitors”);
  • Smart-check function, when self-diagnostics can be launched via a mobile application.

There are some drawbacks, though. For me, these include the lack of a delicates or hand wash program. There are also difficulties with the delayed start function.

But during operation, I encountered a few "surprises." They're few, but it's best to be prepared. For example, when connecting to the sewer yourself, be aware that the drain hose doesn't have a check valve. To prevent the machine from throwing up errors later, the hose needs to be positioned higher. We left the corrugated hose at the bottom and worried the machine was defective.

It is also important to remember:

  • After each drying, you need to clean the drum cuff from debris, especially if you were drying bedding or blankets;
  • It is better to set the drying time manually, since basic programs perform worse (on average, 2.5-3 hours are enough to dry a drum filled to 60-70%);
  • The machine is slightly larger than indicated on the label (hoses and protruding hatch door increase the depth by 7-10 cm).

Overall, the Samsung washer-dryer we purchased does its job perfectly. I definitely recommend it.

My husband decided to give me a gift – a high-quality washing machine. We needed one that was spacious (we have a family of eight) and multifunctional. We searched for a suitable washing machine for a very long time, since there is a large selection, the prices are high, and we were afraid of making a mistake.We ended up looking at almost every store in the city and settled on the Samsung WD806U2GAGD. Yes, it's expensive, but it has the perfect maximum load capacity, features, and drying capabilities!

After a year of active use, I can say it's a true miracle! The machine washes and dries, and all I have to do is press buttons and open the door when the cycle is finished. It saves a lot of time and offers a variety of modes, which is incredibly convenient! There's a quick wash program that lasts 15 minutes and refreshes clothes.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the Samsung washer-dryer. I recommend everyone not to be afraid of the price and to treat themselves!

Negative opinions

We bought a Samsung WD80K5410OW with a dryer about a year ago, hoping for positive reviews. But our high expectations were not met.

The only advantages I'd highlight about this machine are its quiet operation and excellent wash quality. But these "pros" are outweighed by the fact that the full cycle, including washing and drying, feels like a lottery.

The results after this program are completely unpredictable. The washer-dryer works fine for about six cycles, but by the seventh, you're pulling absolutely soaking wet laundry out of the drum. Technical support resolves the issue by recommending restarting the cycle and only then calling a technician. The second time, it dries fine, so I don't have to call a service technician.Samsung WD80K5410OW

They explained to us that this happens when the pump "forgets" to turn on during the spin cycle. The error persists, and the machine continues to run, wasting electricity.

I have to monitor it. If I don't hear the drain during the spin cycle, I force the program to end and start the dryer. But that's inconvenient, especially when the Samsung washing machine is quite expensive.

I own a Samsung WD90N74LNOA/LP and can't say anything positive about it. Oddly enough, the newness of the washing machine ruined all my expectations and impressions. All those advertised dual motors, reload window, Wi-Fi, and other super features backfired.

While these features may be advantages for some, in our case, it was the opposite. Just a week after purchasing our Samsung, the modern door with the additional loading hatch broke. More specifically, the sensor that controls the door lock failed, preventing the washer-dryer from starting. We contacted a trusted service center, where they replaced the hatch with a new one free of charge under warranty. Fortunately, the repair was quick and free of charge, thanks to the technicians. However, it's disappointing that within seven days of purchase, the unit had to be disassembled and reassembled twice. Now we're afraid to use the additional loading hatch, even though this feature has increased the price of the machine.Samsung WD90N74LNOA

The Wi-Fi issue is similar. It would seem convenient to monitor the washing machine's status via a mobile app, but the app crashed on our Galaxy 10! Furthermore, the controls are quite poor: the buttons on the dashboard are unclear, and the instructions don't explain some of the icons that appear. There was no information that not all modes include drying. For example, the wash/dry combination only applies to the basic program; in other modes, the wash cycle ends, and then we manually set the drying cycle.

The volume of the soundtrack was also disappointing. Compared to our old Bosch model, which served us for 10 years, the new Samsung latches the door, fills and drains water very loudly. The only pleasant surprise was the completely silent mode, but otherwise, it's a disappointment. Particularly annoying are the long melodies that play in response to every action: cycle start, pause, stop... There's no short "beep-beep," only long "nightingale trills." You can't completely eliminate the "singing." The mute button doesn't even mute half the sounds, so keep that in mind if you plan to use the appliance in the kitchen or living room.

Unfortunately, we had virtually no choice. We were looking for a 2-in-1 washing machine, and separate washing machines weren't an option. If space and budget allow, it's better to buy a separate dryer and washer. When there's no alternative, be prepared to embrace all the latest high-tech innovations and all their pitfalls. According to the repairmen we encountered during our two weeks of using the Samsung, modern appliances are a gamble. For some, even if the quality is the same, they'll last for years without issue, while for others, they'll occasionally malfunction and break down.

The more bells and whistles, the higher the risk of malfunction. A prime example is our old Bosch, a simple and straightforward appliance that worked flawlessly for 10 years and then went to a new owner without any downtime.

Also keep in mind that the machine doesn't have a drum light. Although I have no idea why or how this feature works, since the glass is tinted and you can't meditate on your laundry. I would like to point out separately the discrepancy between the actual dimensions of the case and those stated on the marking. The height and width of the machine are normal, but the depth difference is up to 10 cm. This mistake can be detrimental when installing the appliance in a cabinet or a closet. Our washing machine sticks out of the niche, which is annoying, but not impossible to live with.

I hope it's clear that my impressions of the machine are far from positive. I'm giving it a low rating and recommend carefully weighing the pros and cons.
