A year and a half ago, my old washing machine, which had served our family for eight years, broke down. It could still be repaired, but we decided it was ugly, outdated, and belonged in the trash.

I needed a replacement, but the problem is, there are tons of washing machines on the market right now, and I'm far from an expert and can't choose the right model. My wife and I went shopping, spent a long time choosing a machine, and couldn't decide. Finally, I gave up and decided to buy the Hotpoint Ariston RST 601 W. Why this particular machine?

1. It's not expensive at all, at least it didn't seem to me that it put a strain on the family budget.
2. It is attractive in appearance, has a digital display and an easy-to-understand control panel.
3. It's not very noisy. It's so quiet that if I close the bathroom door, I forget the machine is washing, and then in the evening I find wet laundry in the drum and get scolded by my wife for not hanging it out to dry in time.
4. The washing machine is quite stable and resists centrifugal force well; at least, it doesn’t bounce around the bathroom or even wobble much during the spin cycle.

Unlike the LG, the Ariston leaves detergent in the dispenser after washing, along with a fair amount of water. It could be a model issue, or maybe a malfunction; I'll investigate.

I wasn't very impressed with this brand's narrow washing machine, even though it's usable. Let me explain why. The most important thing is that the lock on the hatch doesn’t work well. From the very first day, I've been struggling to close the door. Now I practically kick it shut, thinking it'll break completely soon. The second downside of the machine is the detergent drawer. It's reluctant to take in the detergent; sometimes I even have to open the drawer during a wash cycle and pour boiling water from the kettle into it to get the remaining detergent to drain. It also doesn't take in the fabric softener correctly, too early. Overall, I don't recommend this machine!

The washing machine is very quiet, washes beautifully, and doesn't wrinkle, clump, or ruin laundry, as long as you load it correctly. In two years of use, it hasn't let me down once. Five stars!

I used an Aristoshka top-loading washer for 12 years. I loved it, even though it had manual controls and a load capacity of only 4 kg. Unfortunately, a year ago, there was a short circuit in the kitchen and a rapid fire. Luckily, I was home and quickly put it out, but alas, I had to say goodbye to the machine because the power strip caught fire right next to the machine.

I didn't hesitate long and bought the Hotpoint Ariston RST 601 W front-loading washer. I initially considered looking at top-loaders, but I decided against it at the last minute. The washing machine turned out to be very good. I especially liked the wash programs; they were very well chosen. I mostly use the quick wash and super rinse. It's very convenient that this model has a display that shows the program progress, and the delayed start feature is also great. It's indispensable for overnight washing. I highly recommend it!
