Reviews of Umka washing powder
Umka baby laundry detergent has quickly gained popularity. Why is this? Perhaps it's the quality, or perhaps the low price. In fact, it's not just Umka powder, but a whole line of baby hygiene products. In this article, we've collected real reviews of Umka laundry detergent, Umka baby bleach, and the liquid detergent. We hope you find them helpful.
Soap powder
Evgeniya, Moscow
Umka is a funny little bear from a Soviet cartoon that absolutely every child loved. Advertisers decided to use this name and release something good under it, but instead, it turns out to be something disgusting, especially one aimed at children. This powder smells simply disgusting; it seems like it's made from ground laundry soap, and they chose the smelliest kind.
This powder is actually made from grated soap, it's even listed in the ingredients.
Okay, the smell is manageable, but it doesn't actually clean anything. Why, one wonders, did the manufacturer add phosphates? So, the detergent loses its eco-friendliness and has zero cleaning effect. Personally, having tried this powder once, I didn’t even use it all; I threw half the pack in the trash. Don't take it, you'll regret it.

I have two little kids whom I love very much and try to give them the best. At first, I used different hypoallergenic baby washing powders, including foreign-made products, but then I discovered Umka. This powder amazed me with its high quality and low price. At first, I didn't even believe it and was looking for a catch, but there wasn't one.
My eldest has sensitive skin that immediately breaks out when exposed to any chemicals, including laundry detergent. With Umka laundry detergent, I've forgotten what allergies are. It doesn't remove very heavy stains, and in fact, no laundry detergent can handle them; you need something more powerful. As for ordinary stains, Umka powder copes well here. This product gets the highest marks from me.
Bleach for baby clothes
Lisa, Gelendzhik
A store clerk once recommended Umka baby bleach to me. I loved it right away, and I've been using it successfully for three years now. I may be biased in my assessment of this product's pros and cons, as I've become accustomed to it over the years, but I'll try to lay it all out in order, starting with the pros.
- whitens perfectly and does not damage children's clothes;
- Suitable for adult underwear;
- does not cause allergies;
The hypoallergenic properties of Umka bleach were tested on my husband, who suffers from severe allergies to detergents, bleaches, fabric softeners, and other chemicals. He reacts normally to Umka bleach.
- smells good, although the smell is not strong;
- It's inexpensive.
I can't say anything about its downsides. It seems to me that Umka bleach has no downsides at all, which makes me happy.
Let others look for downsides if they can find them, but I will continue to use this product and recommend it to everyone.
Maria, Yekaterinburg
Umka bleach is a pleasant find that has been making me happy for almost a year now. I don't have children, so I don't need baby bleach, but the thing is, Umka, as a bleach for children's clothes, is 100% superior to any adult product, and it costs next to nothing. Bleaching things in a basin is simply an ideal option, but it is apparently not suitable for an automatic washing machine. I tried this "procedure" a couple of times in my LG washing machine, and the last time, foam actually came out of the door, which is not good. Otherwise, it's a wonderful product that protects your clothes and your health!
Liquid product
Anastasia, St. Petersburg
If you're looking for an affordable liquid laundry detergent for baby clothes, try Umka gel—you won't regret it. Its cleaning performance isn't perfect; it either doesn't remove tough stains at all or only with difficulty, but on the other hand, it's rare for a truly safe detergent to tackle tough stains. The price of Umka liquid detergent is more than reasonable; at least, it'll suit most people—$1.13 per liter. It doesn't cause allergies, and it does have a subtle fragrance; it seems to be in a minimal concentration. It's a good product, worthy of a solid B-star rating.
Tatyana, Irkutsk
I used Umka laundry gel for a couple of months, but then I gave it up and switched to powder because it was too expensive. Well, actually, the price for the liquid detergent is reasonable, it's just that you use a lot. I've been buying three bottles at a time lately, which is noticeable. For the same number of washes, you only need a pack of powder, and it's cheaper. The only advantage of the gel is that it rinses out much better, and, by the way, it's very convenient to use since it has a measuring cap.
In conclusion, Umka laundry detergent, as well as the bleach and gel from this brand, are clearly in demand and, judging by reviews, are well-liked by consumers. Therefore, in our opinion, you can safely try the Umka line and adopt it if you like it.
