Quite a while ago (11 years ago), our family received a Brandt Tropikal washing machine as a gift; it cost $700 at the time. We specifically needed a top-loading machine, and the gift was a great fit.

The manufacturer's stated service life is nine years. The machine worked flawlessly throughout these years, but in the tenth year, the suction pump failed. I replaced it myself, and the machine continued to operate for another year, after which we had to replace the brushes.

The following year, a more serious breakdown occurred, and we finally had to say goodbye to the car that had served its purpose and buy a new one. We decided to choose between models from the same company; we didn't even consider any other.

We chose the Brandt WT 10735 E, which has served us faithfully for two years now. Incidentally, it still cost the same $700. It's just as reliable, quiet, and stays in place even during the spin cycle. It's also "smart"—if the laundry is unevenly distributed in the drum, the spin cycle is low, and the preset vibration limit is not exceeded.

Of course, there are a ton of useful options: delayed start, quick wash, various programs for many types of fabric, and much more. If the water supply is turned off, the standby mode automatically switches on. The main thing is that my wife is happy with the purchase, calling it only pet names. Incidentally, we use the machine almost daily and have no complaints.

But there's one small drawback. The detergent dispenser is difficult to clean. And we have to clean it every month because we have hard water.

Advantages

It's noisier than expected during operation and shakes during the spin cycle. It doesn't bounce or move around, though. It washes well, even with a quick wash. Like many top-loading machines, it suffers from water spilling from the door when opened. It doesn't spill onto the floor, though, so it's not a big deal. It could have more features, but that's what you expect for the price. It does its job, and what else do you need?

Flaws

Water dripping from the lid is noisy.

I'm very happy with my purchase. We were looking for a vertical washer; we'd previously used a vertical washer and didn't want anything else. Loading the laundry is easy; you don't have to bend over to load it.

Advantages

Quiet operation. It's nice that the drum lid always comes up when the wash cycle is finished. There are many program settings, allowing you to customize your settings.

French assembly. Holds 6 kg. Top-loading. Excellent feature set for a washing machine in this price range! The instructions are simple, and the wash quality is excellent. I can't comment on reliability, but I've only been using it for six months.

I was a little disappointed by the strong vibration during the spin cycle. It only spins at full speed (1000) at the end of the final rinse. Another downside is that the drum doesn't stay upright at the end of the wash cycle. I had an Ariston before, also a vertical washer, and the drum stayed firmly in place. I think this is a very useful feature for these models.

Shakes during spinning, the drum does not stop in the top position at the end of the wash, noisy spinning.

There are no other top-loading models with a drying function in this format, so I settled on this one. If there were any others, I wouldn't have chosen this one—the machine has no other advantages. It's noisy and shakes during the spin cycle.

When the breakdown occurred, it turned out there was no authorized service center, the mechanic was completely incompetent, and there was practically no one to file a complaint against; the company practically didn't exist. It was either Fagor or Polar Industries, it was hard to figure out. It would be a pain to untangle the chain. Most service centers wouldn't take it on, of course, because there was no documentation, and spare parts were impossible to find. You could only rig something up by luck, and even then, whether it would work or not is still a question.

I have the same problem as many others: the washing powder won't wash out. I struggled for a long time, reading forums, and finally called a repairman (the machine was under warranty). He quickly tightened something and everything was fixed. He said it was due to shipping, and the bolts had come loose. Because of this, the water wasn't reaching the right compartment with the washing powder, but only the left one, where the liquid washing powder is stored. The repairman also reassured me by saying that, in his opinion, this was the first and only breakdown. He said the machine is reliable, so I hope he believes that.

Advantages

Wash quality, a wide range of functions, an attractive appearance, and dimensions. It doesn't bounce during spinning.
