Miele Washing Machine Reviews

Miele W 1714 Washing Machine

Miele W 1714 ReviewsVeronica Mikhailova

We couldn't be happier with our purchase!!! Our whole family researched and finally bought the Miele W 1714! It's a wonderful machine, we fell in love with it right away and treat it like a member of our family. It washes everything perfectly clean! No soaking or boiling! It even irons the laundry, even though it doesn't have that feature. Words can't describe how happy we are! I highly recommend it!

Advantages

Excellent washing! It runs quietly and beeps when everything's done, so you don't have to wait around for it to finish! And the wrinkle protection feature is fantastic, so your clothes don't get wrinkled before you can take them out!

Flaws

Not found! I hope our car continues to bring us joy!

Miele W 3575 WPS Washing Machine

Think carefully before you buy! We bought the W 3575 before our baby was born, so we wouldn't have to worry about washing the baby's clothes. We thought the machine would live up to its reputation, but it didn't! Sure, it worked flawlessly for two years, but suddenly something went wrong and all the lights on the control panel started flashing. That was the beginning of a very interesting story that continues to this day. One repair visit costs $25—and no wonder, considering it's a premium appliance! The repairman couldn't determine the cause of the problem in one visit; apparently, he didn't have a test board for my model, even though I'd specified one when I called. Oh well, on the second visit, the technician arrived with the right equipment and found the problem—the board had failed. I owe him another $25!

Things get even more hilarious. After checking the warehouse, it turns out the necessary part is only available in Germany and will cost me $150 + $40 shipping. I'll have to pay, too, because the Miele warranty on major components doesn't cover this unfortunate part! That warranty only covers the stainless steel tub and bearing, so draw your own conclusions. But at the time of purchase, such a warranty sounds promising! Total: $620 for the washing machine + $190 for the part + $50 for service calls + another $50 for the call and installation = $910 for two years of work!

Words can't describe how upset and disappointed we are! The basic warranty is only one year, after which no one will want you and your broken device! Now we're debating whether to buy this board or sell our wonderful device and get something else. Learn from others' mistakes!!!

Advantages

What advantages are we talking about if the much-hyped Miele failed after two years? I don't see any advantages over other, cheaper brands!

Flaws

The electrical quality is terrible. The repair and service costs are outrageous; it's easier to just buy a new one! Don't fall for their "guarantees," which only cover the fact that the stainless steel won't rust or the bearing won't break!

Miele W 1614 Washing Machine

First, I'll tell you what I'll be comparing my Miele W 1614 to. We previously had an Ariston Margarita 2000, and we were generally happy with it. It lasted for eight years. After one unsuccessful repair, the motor burned out, after which we decided to buy a new washing machine. I consider reliability to be the most important criterion for household appliances, because after a bad experience with unprofessional repairmen, I have no desire to waste money and stress on them again.

After extensive research into various articles and reviews online, I concluded that Miele washing machines are currently the most reliable. While the price of this brand's machines is a bit out of our budget, we decided not to skimp on our health and purchased the Miele W1614, which, incidentally, is the least expensive model in the line.

My first impressions from my first few washes are that this machine is fantastic! It's silent, and it doesn't even budge during the wash cycle (my Ariston used to jump out of its seat). The interface is intuitive, the controls are very user-friendly, and there are plenty of additional features, such as an extra rinse. Overall, the machine exudes German reliability.

But after a while, my joy gave way to disappointment. The first sign was the appearance of my clothes after washing in the "Wool" cycle: increased pilling, and they looked wrinkled, even with a spin cycle of only 400 rpm. I was even more upset by the sweat smell that lingered on my woolen clothes. It's entirely possible I didn't add enough detergent, but that had never happened before. I wondered how the "Wool" cycle actually works. So: the machine fills with water, spins once, waits, spins again, and drains. Rinsing occurs in the same way. It's not washing, but soaking! No wonder the smell lingered.

The bedding, on the other hand, has started to smell more like detergent than usual. I always use the "More Water" function, which activates an extra rinse. I'm using the same detergent as before, so it seems likely that the new washing machine isn't rinsing as well as the old one. And this is despite the fact that the sellers guaranteed excellent rinsing even without using the extra rinse button. Well, it's survivable; you'll just have to use the express wash cycle every time.

But then another unpleasant incident occurred. After washing a terrycloth robe and a knit blouse on the delicate cycle, the robe lost all its terrycloth, and it transferred to the blouse. I washed it using the "More Water" setting, so I was very surprised. The robe wasn't new, but the last time I washed it in my old Ariston, everything was fine. The next time I washed new terrycloth towels, they were in the same condition as the robe. I decided it was the drum—I touched the inside and noticed it was rougher than the one in my previous washing machine. Could that really be the issue? Yes, it's not a honeycomb drum, but a regular one, but this shouldn't happen to clothes.

To summarize all of the above, I can draw this conclusion: yes, the machine may be reliable, but I'm not satisfied with the washing quality. Not only does it wash worse than its predecessor, but it also wears out the laundry. I don't recommend this model. I can't comment on models with a honeycomb drum, but if they wash woolen items just as well, be prepared to finish the washing by hand.

Advantages

Quiet operation, stability, multiple functions, reliability, and ease of use. Convenient detergent drawer—easy to remove and clean.

Flaws

Items wear out significantly during washing due to the rough drum. Washing and rinsing performance are poor, especially in the "Wool" cycle.

Miele W 155 WPM Washing Machine

I'm the proud owner of a German-made MIELE Novotronic W-155 top-loading washing machine (this model is no longer in production). It's been in service for over seven years without any issues.

Before purchasing, we evaluated potential candidates primarily based on reliability and size. The machine had to be quiet, vibration-free, and energy-efficient. The chosen model met all these criteria, and we found no shortcomings. At the time of purchase, we were impressed by the 24-hour delay start function and the dual-rate electricity meter. It's so quiet you can barely tell whether it's on or off. This is thanks to the cast iron base, not the marble one. The key is to follow the simple operating instructions and the recommendations regarding water hardness. We also add Calgon.

Incidentally, it has so many features that even after seven years, not all competitors offer them. The reinforced water supply hose is a plus. Everything is well-made, not made of rubber or plastic. The machine itself weighs about 100 kg, but the manufacturers included a soft-close mechanism, making it easy to move even for a woman, though I'd still recommend leaving this task to a man. It's also easy to connect; with some knowledge or experience, it's no problem.

Advantages

German reliability, efficiency, and top-notch quality. Quiet, convenient, feature-rich, and easy to use.

Flaws

The only drawback is the steep price.

I would never have considered buying a washing machine of this caliber. I received it as a gift and am still impressed. It's quiet, washes gently, and even has a load indicator—no more worrying about how much you can load. It's definitely worth the money. From now on, I'll try to buy only high-quality appliances like this.

Advantages

Quiet operation, reliability, careful handling of things, quality.

Flaws

The price, but the car is worth the money.

Miele WT945: This is the second time the seal has broken in my machine. The first time it was replaced, this time it's 16,010 rubles, not including labor. I'm going to fix it myself. It's a clear manufacturer oversight; how can it last 2-3 years? The water heating element burned out in the fifth year. The dryer stopped working after seven. Repairs cost as much as a new Bosch machine, which washes just as well. Think twice before using this brand. The secret is that spare parts are sold only by authorized dealers, and only with labor.
If you're buying a machine for 5 years, it'll wash just fine without any problems. That's all the advantages.

The situation with washing machines is bad. Machines used to last 15-20 years. It's terrible to buy a machine for five years at that price. We also had a Bosch, and it didn't live up to expectations. We bought it for 25,000 rubles, and it lasted six years.

Yes, all machines are designed for 5-10 years of operation, no more.

Miele is the unrivaled leader. The guaranteed service life is 10,000 hours. That's 200 years of operation. AEG is in second place with 4,500 hours. Bosch is in third place with Siemens. The Mieles that the Germans make for themselves are exceptionally reliable; that is, all the labels are in German. I bought a used one with German labels and have had no problems for 12 years. It does the washing, and I relax.
