Vestel Washing Machine Reviews
Vestel AWM 1040S

Grade: 4.Date of purchase: February 2013. Advantages: compact, spins well, doesn't damage laundry. Flaws: Jumps around the bathtub during spin cycle, short drain hose
A store employee strongly recommended this model when my previous machine completely stopped working. According to the manager, it's a reliable, high-quality machine made in our former defense plant. I can't say I'm thrilled with it, but I have no complaints either—the laundry is clean, well-spun, and the neighbors haven't flooded yet. The only downsides are the very short drain hose, and I have to "catch" it in the bathroom while it's spinning, but otherwise, it's fine.

Advantages: No
Flaws: The timer doesn't work, it rattles while running, and the spin cycle is poor.
It's a tractor, not a washing machine. I live on the third floor, and my neighbor from the first floor comes over when this miracle starts spinning. I called the repairmen, and they all say, "What do you expect? It's just a machine, this is normal." Then it gets even more interesting: I set the wash cycle for two hours, and it spends over three hours slaving away at my laundry. I call the repairman again, and the answer is the same: it's the machine, and it calculates the time automatically. Why even bother with a timer then? The spin cycle is a whole other story: after the spin cycle, I have to restart it, otherwise all the laundry is damp and takes a week to dry. I bought an LG for my parents, and they wash their laundry like that and have no problems at all, but I only deal with the service department.

Advantages: none at all
Flaws: does not erase
Total crap. My ancient Ariston did a hundred times better washing. And this isn't really a machine. It just tears and chews the laundry, and no one bothers to fix it.

Advantages: many functions, compact
Flaws: did not reveal
An excellent machine and my indispensable assistant. I've been using it for over a year now and haven't had a single complaint—it washes perfectly, with a wide variety of programs. I wash whites and colors separately, and there's a faded cycle and a short wash cycle. I wasn't initially inclined to overpay just for the manufacturer's big name, and I'm absolutely happy with my choice.

Advantages: cheap
Flaws: won't last more than 4 years
I bought a 5 kg capacity machine, and it worked great for almost four years, but then it stopped washing. I'd turn it on, and it would just hiss and that's it. My neighbor's machine, a 3.5 kg one, only lasted three years. First, it didn't rinse well, and then the spin cycle broke. Now I'm planning on buying a new one, but I won't buy a Vestel. I guess cheap and good don't happen here.

Advantages: It's roomy, neat, quiet, saves detergent and water, and washes superbly!
Flaws: I don't think they will appear
We were looking for a new washing machine after moving. At first, we wanted a super-narrow one because our bathroom was small, but we ended up buying a decent one and installing it in the kitchen. We wanted a Class A brand, but we were on a budget, so the salesperson recommended this model, the 1247E, and we ultimately settled on it. It's a large machine, rated for 6 kg, and looks very neat. My husband handled the installation himself; it was simple and straightforward.
We have a one-bedroom apartment, so I was worried it would be audible in the room since the machine is in the kitchen, but no—it's practically silent! It has a full range of programs, and it uses a third less detergent than our previous Bosch. We have water meters in our apartment, so I thought we'd go broke paying for it, but in reality, I haven't noticed any difference with or without the machine! Apparently, my husband uses the most water when he takes a bath.
Summary: I advise everyone to take a closer look at domestic products, and not throw money down the drain just for a catchy name.

Advantages: looks good on the outside
Flaws: disposable
As an expert, I say this so-called "equipment" belongs in the trash. I bought it for my parents, and it didn't work for two years; the universal joint broke. At first, a repairman seemed to be on hand, but then it was a pain to get it out; the metal just crumbled. The first and last time I bought our equipment, it was like a Soviet Union, and it's still there.

Advantages: convenient and simple
Flaws: the software doesn't work
I used this washing machine for three years. Literally from the very first wash, the machine started having programming issues. It would freeze up constantly. It would either spin the laundry while it was still soapy, or it would fill with water and just sit there, not starting. Then it started making noise, and a year later, the belt broke. We got it fixed, but three months later, the belt started having problems again. So, we decided to stop messing around and buy a different brand.

Advantages: none
Flaws: I don't know how to say it in a cultural way
I bought it for my mother-in-law's anniversary, thinking it would be a treat. From the very beginning, it whined during the spin cycle. After six months, it stopped heating water and spinning. A repairman came and said the bearing needed replacing. They kept it at the repair shop until the bitter end, a whopping 40 days. Then we returned it, installed it, and it still wouldn't heat. It turned out the repairmen had messed up the phases during the repair. Okay, they took it back and fixed it. It started working again for a month and a half, and then the spin cycle started whining again. Four months after the repair, the machine stopped again. The bearing had failed again. We gave up and went and bought a Bosch. There's clearly a problem with the motor; you probably shouldn't buy our Russian equipment at all.

Grade: 2.5
Advantages: perhaps not
Flaws: I constantly called a mechanic because of problems with the belt
The machine is a mystery; some weirdo developed the software. It used to spin every time I used it. I had to set it to no spin, and then spin it separately after the wash was done. Not for the faint of heart.

Please tell me which hook on the drum the spring is attached to on the Vestel 850 RL.
These reviews are completely made up! Our Samsung washing machine has been washing for 14 years and spins after every drain, and that's normal—it's electronic! 🙂 We recently bought my mom a Vestel F4WM 840, a narrow 5 kg capacity with an 800 rpm spin speed. I'll come back in a year and tell you how it's been going 🙂
