About Bosch and Siemens washing machines

Sanaev Konstantin

We bought a washing machine online and chose the Bosch WIS 24140 OE model. We were sure it would have a drying function, but it didn't. Since we've never owned a dryer before, we weren't too upset. The main thing is that it washes well and spins well. We also liked the large diameter of the door, making it easy to load laundry. You can also wash blankets and throws. But the machine doesn’t spin them out the first time; you need to straighten out the blanket and then start the spin cycle again. We installed the washing machine in the kitchen. With the door closed, the washing process is almost inaudible, and the spin cycle is within normal noise limits. However, the loud beeping sound after the cycle ends is annoying; you definitely can't hear it.

I have a Bosch 28440 washing machine. It's a good machine with a quick cycle. It's quiet and vibration-free during washing. However, it does have some drawbacks:

  • there is no child protection on the door;
  • A crack appeared on the hatch cover, which does not affect the operation, but is unpleasant.

The machine worked fine, but one day it displayed error 23 related to leaks and stopped working. It turned out that almost 300 ml of water had accumulated in the machine's drip tray. Repairs revealed that the hose connecting the fill valve and the detergent drawer had come loose. This occurs because the holes through which water enters the drawer become clogged with scale. When water can't flow into the drawer, the pressure causes the hose to break off. Cleaning with citric acid helped. Apparently, the German manufacturers weren't considering hard water and made the holes too small.

Bychkova EkaterinaBosch WIS 24140

We installed a Bosch 28440 washing machine, which we really like. I use it every day to wash my little one's diapers. It spins perfectly, and everything dries in a few hours. I also love the 15-minute refresh function.

Smirnova Zhanna

We were originally planning to install the washing machine in the kitchen and were looking for a built-in one. We chose the Bosch WIS 24140. We thought Bosch had the best quality. It turned out to be a bit pricey for us, but we had no better option, so we bought this one. After just one month of use, the first drawback was discovered: when spinning intensively, it would tear the laundry (sheets and towels). It jumps a lot during the spin cycle and makes noise. I wouldn’t recommend this model to you.

We've been using the Siemens WI 14S440 washing machine for four months now. Here are some of its advantages:

  • a large number of programs;
  • good wash;
  • quiet in operation.

The only downside is the overly loud end-of-program signal, which can be heard through the cabinet door when the kitchen door is closed. It continues beeping once a minute until you turn it off. The purpose of this is unclear.

Anna Schultz

I really like the Siemens WI 14S440 built-in washing machine. Unlike our old Indesit, which served us faithfully for 20 years and now serves friends in a rented apartment, the washing quality is much better. However, I don't think the build quality will be as good, and we can't expect it to last that long. Still, I'll give it a five-star rating.

Kalintsev Vladimir

For 5 years now we have been using the Siemens WK 14D540 washing machine, built-in, and even with drying functionAt first, there were no complaints, but after six months, the dryer's temperature sensor failed. The service technician charged $30 for the repair, claiming it was overheating. But just two days later, the machine broke down again. I had to fix the problem myself.

But here's the problem: a built-in machine weighs about 80 kg, and removing it from the cabinet isn't easy. But I needed to find the cause of the breakdown; the sensor turned out to be just a symptom. So, I disassembled the machine, removing about 100 screws. I got to the dryer vent. It turned out it was clogged with lint. I washed it and reassembled it; service centers charge about $150 for this kind of work. I've already had to clean it three times since I've used it. I decided it's better to buy a separate dryer.

Victoria Mishina

The convenient Siemens WK 14D540 washes and dries laundry perfectly. What's special about this model is that it fits into a closet and hides behind a front door. Some items don't even need ironing after drying. For example, I put terry towels straight into the closet thanks to the "easy iron" feature. There are so many programs, I don't even use some of them. The end-of-cycle signal prevents me from forgetting laundry. No complaints.

About Electrolux washing machines

Aronchikov MikhailElectrolux EWX147410W

Before buying appliances, we read reviews. Now we have a washing machine built into our kitchen cabinets, an Electrolux EWG 147540. It washes well, but be prepared for it to rip clothes. Also, after six months, we started hearing a knocking sound from the bearing. It can't be removed from the drum, so repairs are being postponed for now because it's still working. However, during the spin cycle, it makes a knocking sound like a commuter train.

Bragin Victor

The Electrolux EWG 147540 washing machine is an excellent solution for the home. It runs quietly at high speeds and produces almost no vibration. It always washes clothes perfectly. The controls are intuitive, and I only used the instructions once. However, there is one drawback. There is too big a gap between the drum and the door, allowing small items (socks, scarves) to get caught. This is a minor issue overall, so I highly recommend this model. The build quality is excellent, though.

Maria Kachaeva

When we started renovating our kitchen, we needed a built-in washing machine. We settled on the Electrolux EWG 147540, as we had previously owned an Electrolux. It has many nice features and a wide selection of programs that are easy to select and run. We haven't found any drawbacks yet.

Zavgorodniy Pavel

We bought an Electrolux EWX147410W washing machine to replace an old Brandt top-loader. It has a drying mode, but it lacks a fabric filter, so threads can remain on clothes from the previous drying cycle. Not only that, but after a year and a half, the impeller that circulates hot air during drying became clogged due to the lack of a filter, and the air vent also became clogged with threads. Repairs cost $40.

Another significant drawback is the inability to change the program or its duration after starting. Furthermore, the Electrolux doesn't remember frequently selected programs. Overall, the machine washes and dries well and is virtually vibration-free. However, for these shortcomings, it only gets a 3.

Malyshev Evgeny

I only encountered built-in appliances when I got an Electrolux EWX147410W washing machine. I didn't read any reviews; I bought it on the advice of the store manager. It vibrates like a regular washing machine, so I had to leave large gaps between the walls, and it sometimes slides out of the cabinet. It has a backlit display, but I wish it were a little larger.

The drying process didn't seem very good compared to my parents' Ariston machine dryer. After 1.5 hours, the clothes were still damp. The machine beeps too loudly at the end. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase; the price matches the build quality.

About Hotpoint-Ariston washing machines

Metelkina MariaHotpoint-Ariston CAWD 129

The Hotpoint-Ariston CAWD 129 is a gorgeous washing machine. It's practically silent. Among the wide range of washing programs, I especially like the drying program and the "straight to the cupboard" program, which really work. Like other Ariston built-in models, this one is assembled in Italy. The only downsides I'd note are the high price and the heavy weight.

Oleg Gusev

I couldn't be happier with my Hotpoint-Ariston CAWD 129 washing machine. It washes perfectly, and everything is always clean. A year later, however, a disaster struck when the drum stopper and metal fasteners broke. The entire drum needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone.

Evgeniya

We bought the Hotpoint-Ariston CAWD 129 washing machine based on online reviews. Initially, we ran it without the front panel, so it was very noisy, especially during the spin cycle. Once we fully installed it in the cabinet, it was practically inaudible. I'm very happy with the washing machine, as it removes even the toughest stains. Even with a short wash cycle, the results are impressive. I only use the drying function when I can immediately iron, as it dries perfectly. The only drawback is the short drain hose. In my opinion, a built-in machine should have a slightly longer hose.

Oksana Anikushina

I'm disappointed with my purchase of a Hotpoint-Ariston AWM 108 washing machine. It holds a lot of laundry, but it's terrible at washing children's clothes. Six months after purchasing it, the door lock broke completely. I'll have to take it to a service center. We don't recommend this brand at all.

Kalchenaev Vasily Anatolyevich

We have been using the Hotpoint-Ariston AWM 108 washing machine for a little over a year now. The machine is large, which makes it possible to wash bedspreads and all bed linen at once.But the machine is very noisy even at low speeds. As for wash quality, it's average. The baby cycle doesn't wash diapers with poop stains. After several months of washing, the fabric softener wouldn't rinse out, and there's always water with residual fabric softener in the compartment. I had a hard time finding instructions in Russian. Conclusion: the price of this machine doesn't match the quality.

Popov Maxim

The Hotpoint-Ariston AWM 108 built-in washing machine is the finishing touch in our kitchen. It fits easily in the cabinet, doesn't wobble, and doesn't vibrate. In short, everything is perfect. We've been using it for a year and a half, washing twice a day. My wife uses Amway products, and everything gets washed well. It's not very noisy when the door is closed. The downside: there's no printed instructions in Russian, and it's a bit pricey.

About AEG and Smeg washing machines

AEG L 61470 WDBLVyacheslav Rosenstein

I bought an AEG L 61470 WDBL washing machine as a gift for my wife. I was surprised that such an expensive model had a plastic smell, which appeared after the first wash. I didn't like the way the feet were adjustable; the back ones were completely static. However, it handles stains of any complexity with ease. The controls are simple and intuitive.

Shelepen Anton

My wife and I were choosing a washing machine based on price, drying options, and leak protection. We made the right choice with the German brand AEG L 61470 WDBL. It has a high-quality appearance, a wide range of programs and features, and a convenient time indicator.

You have to get used to the drying function, as the washing machine gets very hot during this process. Among the disadvantages, I would note the inconvenience of installation and adjustment of the legs. Bosch machines have this aspect better thought out. The hoses also turned out to be a bit short, but I got around it by positioning the machine close to the sink. We actively use all the programs, exploring the capabilities of the different modes.

amalia-amaliya2015

Buying a washing machine turned out to be a difficult decision. We settled on the expensive built-in Smeg LSTA147S, but we really wanted a Miele, but its price was prohibitive. We've been using the machine for over three years now. A tumble dryer was a must, as we have nowhere to dry laundry, including a balcony. Overall, the Smeg does its job perfectly. It has programs for wool, silk, cotton, and many others. It washes clothes carefully, doesn't tear, and nothing shrinks after drying.

What I didn't like was the lack of comprehensive information in the instructions. Perhaps they'll provide more details over time. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it if you have the money.

So, built-in washing machines are not much different from standard freestanding ones. The main thing, as consumer reviews show, is to pay attention to the size of the included hoses and the dimensions of the machine itself to ensure it fits smoothly into the designated niche.
