Resetting an Electrolux Dishwasher
A frozen Electrolux dishwasher isn't always caused by a malfunction. Quite often, it stops working due to minor system glitches that can be resolved by rebooting. How do I reboot my Electrolux dishwasher, and what should I do if it doesn't work?
How to activate "Reset"?
A regular reset is performed using the "Intensive Wash" and "Auto" buttons, located next to each other on the dishwasher's control panel. To reset the appliance, press these buttons simultaneously.
Please note! The "Intensive Wash" program is indicated by a symbol of a saucepan on top of the dishes.
Next, press the corresponding buttons and hold them for 5 seconds (or a little longer). After pressing them, the Electrolux dishwasher will emit one long beep and two short beeps. If these beeps sound, the reset is complete.
If your dishwasher is an extremely old model, these buttons may not be present. However, such units do have a power button and a program selector knob. To reset, set the program selector knob to neutral, then press the "Power" button. Then, turn the dishwasher back on. If it starts working again, the reset was successful.
Restarting didn't work.
Have you reset your dishwasher, but nothing happens? There's likely a malfunction. Malfunctions in this equipment can lead to serious problems, but most of them can be prevented. This requires not only constant preventive maintenance, but also strict adherence to installation and operation rules.
If the dishwasher owner follows all the operating instructions, but the unit continues to display an error, then you are most likely experiencing one of the typical malfunctions of this type of equipment.
Here is a list of common problems that may arise when using Electrolux dishwashers.
- The unit won't start. First, make sure the power is on and the water is flowing. It's possible there was a short circuit and the circuit breaker tripped. Try unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- A wet spot has formed under the machine. This could be caused by a damaged drain or inlet hose, a malfunctioning lower spray arm, or an excessively high water level. A leak can also occur if the machine is not installed level.
- Dirt and grease remain on dishes. This happens when the holes in the spray arms are clogged. They need to be cleaned.

- The water isn't heating. The heating element may be faulty or the control board may be damaged.
- The machine is making too much noise while running. It's likely simply installed incorrectly or the pump has worn out.
- The dishes remain wet. This happens if the dishes are stacked incorrectly or too tightly.
Some of these problems can be resolved on your own. However, if rebooting doesn't help, the machine is positioned correctly, the water and power are connected, and the unit still isn't working, it's best to contact a professional. Doing repairs yourself without the necessary knowledge and experience can only make the situation worse.
