Resetting a Bosch Dishwasher
Sometimes users need to reset their Bosch dishwasher. This may be necessary if the dishwasher freezes while running a program. Restarting also often helps clear a random system error. We'll explain how to do this.
Simple restart
Sometimes, users notice that the dishwasher freezes and cannot complete the cycle. Sometimes, the Bosch dishwasher starts flashing all the lights, but does not respond to button presses. In some cases, an error message appears on the display. In these cases, a restart of the dishwasher is required.
How to reset a Bosch dishwasher is described in the equipment manual.
To reset your Bosch dishwasher, you need to:
- close the machine door;
- disconnect the dishwasher from the mains by pulling the power cord out of the socket;
- leave the dishwasher unplugged for a minute;
- plug the dishwasher's power cord back into the socket;
- press the "On" button on the control panel;
- simultaneously press the buttons of the first and third programs for 3-5 seconds;
- open the machine door;
- press the “Reset” button and hold it for 3 seconds;

- close the dishwasher door;
- wait for the signal notifying about the end of the cycle;
- Open the door and turn off the dishwasher.
This method can be used to reset all Bosch models. The only requirement is that the control panel responds to input. If the instrument cluster is frozen, the reset method will be different.
Restart without buttons
Sometimes the machine freezes during operation and doesn't respond to commands at all. The control panel becomes unresponsive. In this case, the sequence of actions will be different. First of all, turn off the dishwasher. Bosch, pulling the power cord out of the socket. Before doing this, make sure the wire is dry.
After unplugging, move the machine away from the wall or slightly remove it from the kitchen cabinet. Inspect the back of the machine and the hoses. Everything should be dry. Make sure there is no standing water behind the dishwasher.
If the washing machine's power cord is wet, do not even attempt to unplug it. This could result in electric shock. Turn off the power to your apartment using the fuse box.
Restarting the dishwasher will help clear the error message.
After disconnecting the dishwasher from the power supply, wait 20-30 minutes. Abruptly disconnecting the dishwasher from the power supply will erase the settings stored in the dishwasher's intelligent controller. After restarting, the user will be able to set new cycle parameters. If the problem is not serious, the dishwasher's control panel will respond to key presses once the restart is complete.
After this, you can follow the steps described in the first step. Press the specific keys one by one while opening and closing the dishwasher door. The machine will restart and be ready for use again.
If your Bosch dishwasher displays the E15 error code, it indicates water has entered the sensor located underneath the unit. If a leak isn't the issue, a quick reboot will resolve the problem. In addition to unplugging the dishwasher, you'll need to tilt it toward the wall for a minute or two. Then, plug it back in.
These methods can restore your Bosch dishwasher to working order. It's important to follow all safety precautions to avoid any problems. If a full reset doesn't help, there's a serious problem and a thorough diagnosis will be required.
