How to perform a reboot?
It's important to understand that resetting your washing machine is an extreme measure, and should only be used when other methods fail to restore the machine to working order. If your washing machine freezes mid-wash, you can try resetting the settings yourself and restarting the desired program. The algorithm of actions will be as follows:
- Press the "Start" button and continue holding it for 10 seconds. The running program should stop;
- If your washing machine is an older model, you should also move the selector handle to the neutral position.
If the machine has been reset, the indicator on the control panel will turn green and then turn off after a second.
If the lights don't flicker, this indicates a malfunction of the machine or an error in resetting the settings. If this doesn't reset the program, you should perform a full reset of the machine. This is done as follows:
- set the programmer handle to the neutral position;
- press “Stop/Start” within 5 seconds;
- unplug the power cord from the socket and wait 15-20 minutes;
- Reconnect the washing machine to the power supply and run the desired program.
Sometimes, an Indesit washing machine doesn't respond to turning the dial or pressing a button. In this case, you can skip these reset steps and immediately unplug the machine. However, keep in mind that a sudden power outage while the machine is running can damage the main control unit.
How to quickly drain water without turning on the appliance?
If you've already started a wash cycle and realize you've left something important in your pockets—your passport, a few bills, your car key fob, a credit card, or your phone—then there's no need to restart the machine. Simply stop the current program, quickly drain the drum, and unlock the door.
All actions should be performed as quickly as possible. The sooner you remove an important item from the machine, the better your chances of saving it. So, here's how to remove a forgotten item from the machine after starting the wash cycle:
- stop the running program by pressing the Stop/Start button;
- move the mode selector handle to neutral position;
- run the “Drain” program, without spinning;
- Wait until the water is completely removed from the tank.
Once the drum is empty, the machine's door will unlock. If draining the liquid by running a cycle isn't possible, you can drain it manually through the debris filter. The filter element is located in the lower right corner of the washing machine, behind a special panel at the front. Before removing the filter, line the floor underneath the appliance with rags and prepare a container to collect the water.
