First start and washing on the Atlant washing machine
After purchasing a new washing machine, you'll want to try it out as soon as possible. But there's no need to rush. There are a few rules to follow when using any washing machine for the first time. Following these guidelines will help protect both the machine itself and your favorite items.
Let's look at how to use your Atlant washing machine for the first time. We'll explain why you shouldn't load the machine with laundry straight away. We'll also explain how to activate the cycle and select the desired program.
Is the machine ready to wash clothes?
Finally, your new Atlant washing machine has arrived from the store. What's next? Be sure to let it sit at room temperature while you read the instructions. The user manual explains how to properly install and connect the washing machine, and provides recommendations for first-time use.
Be sure to remove the transport bolts from the Atlant washing machine.
Every Atlant washing machine has transport bolts. They secure the drum to prevent the drum from hitting other internal components during transport. The number and location of the screws are specified in the machine's manual (there may be 4 or 6, depending on the model).
The Atlant washing machine comes with special plugs. These are placed in the holes created by removing the bolts. Do not operate the washing machine with the shipping screws still in place, as this will cause the machine to malfunction. Warranty repairs are excluded, as the failure is the user's fault.
After removing the bolts, install the washing machine and connect it to the house utilities. Refer to the instructions for the appliance. They will tell you how to position the drain hose and how far from the floor the drain point should be. Be sure to level the machine body.
So, before turning it on for the first time, you need to:
- let the machine stand for 2-3 hours at room temperature (especially if the washing machine was transported during the cold season);
- unscrew the transport bolts, install the plugs;
- connect the machine to the utilities correctly;
- make sure that the washing machine is level;
- check that there is no foam, cellophane, tools, etc. left in the washing machine drum.
After this, you can begin your first wash. First, run a test cycle without any items in the drum. We'll explain why you need to run the machine empty.
Why run equipment with an empty tank?
Why is it so important to run your washing machine empty for the first time? Washing machines are assembled in large factories. During the process, the components become contaminated with oil and other fluids. All the dirt remains inside the machine.
The purpose of the first run is to flush the machine from the inside and make sure there are no leaks or other problems.
If you throw items into the drum immediately during the first wash, they won't be cleaned, but will get dirty. Oil stains, traces of fuel oil, and other residue will remain on the clothes. Therefore, you should first clean the inside of the washing machine to remove any unpleasant technical odors.
How to run a test cycle:
- make sure that the washing machine drum is empty, close the hatch door;
- pour powder or liquid detergent into the tray;
- plug the machine into the power outlet (you cannot use an extension cord, the washing machine cord must reach the outlet);
- select a high-temperature wash program lasting at least 2 hours;
- Press the "Start" key.
After that the machine will start working. Although the test cycle is performed without laundry, powder or gel is still required. The detergent will help remove dirt from the machine.
After running an empty cycle, observe the washing machine. See how the washing machine:
- collects water;
- spins the drum (during washing the speed should be low, during spinning – high);
- heats the water to the set temperature (this should take the washing machine 5-8 minutes);
- drains water into the sewer pipe.
It's important to ensure there are no leaks. Carefully inspect the inlet and drain hose connections, and look underneath the machine. Observe how the washing machine behaves during the spin cycle and how much it shakes during operation. If the Atlant washing machine "jumps" around the room, it's either installed incorrectly or has a manufacturing defect.
If any problems are detected during the test cycle, call the service center immediately. Manufacturing defects will be repaired under warranty. Our technicians will take your washing machine for diagnostics and fix the problem.
Don't attempt to repair a washing machine under warranty yourself. If you disassemble the case or replace parts, the warranty will become invalid. Therefore, contact a service center immediately and have a technician perform diagnostics.
If the test cycle runs smoothly, the machine is ready for further use. Now you can run your first full wash cycle. It's important to select the correct cycle based on the items loaded in the drum.
Washing machine interior cleaning agent
Now it's clear why the test cycle runs without any laundry in the drum. During the first run, the machine is washed to remove factory dirt. It also combats unpleasant odors. What's the best product for cleaning the inside of the washing machine?
You can use regular laundry detergent or gel. The key is to make sure it's suitable for automatic washing machines. Don't use hand-wash granules in the detergent dispenser, as they create too much foam. Therefore, look for the "Automatic" label on the packaging.
Even better, purchase special household cleaning products for the first use of your washing machine. For example, Helfer Start HLR0054. This powerful formula effectively removes any industrial stains and eliminates unpleasant odors.
This product contains surfactants that effectively remove fuel oil, lubricants, oil, and other technical fluids. These components clean and degrease washing machine components and provide an antibacterial effect. How to use Start HLR0054:
- pour the granules into the powder compartment (into the main wash compartment);
- select a high temperature program for the test cycle;
- Start the wash by pressing the "Start" button.
If necessary, you can rinse the washing machine to remove any remaining detergent. To do this, run the "Rinse and Spin" program. Then you can begin washing your items.
Activate the normal wash cycle
Now that the inside of the machine is clean of any factory-made dirt, you can begin washing your items. First, sort your laundry by color and fabric type, and remove any foreign objects from the pockets. It is important not to overload the washing machine, observing the maximum permissible weight established by the manufacturer.
Avoid overloading the drum with too little or too much laundry. Both situations are harmful to the machine. Follow the recommended load weight for each wash cycle.
How to start a regular wash:
- Load a batch of clothes into the drum and close the door tightly;
- add powder or gel to the tray, and, if necessary, fabric softener (if you are using washing capsules, they are placed in the drum);
- plug the machine into the power supply;
- select the appropriate washing mode (based on what items were loaded into the machine);
- if necessary, adjust the factory program settings (for example, change the heating temperature or spin speed);
- if necessary, add additional options to the main program, such as “Easy Ironing” or “Extra Rinse”;
- start the cycle with the "Start" button.
Now all you have to do is wait. Your Atlant washing machine will sound a beep when the wash cycle is complete. Once the lock is released, open the door and remove the laundry. Unload the items carefully to avoid damaging the drum seal.
After each use, it is recommended to remove any water remaining in the drum cuff. It is also advisable to rinse the detergent drawer to remove any detergent residue. It is best to leave the washing machine door slightly open for ventilation.
