How to use the Atlant washing machine?
Front-loading washing machines have much in common, so housewives who have previously used machines from other manufacturers will easily handle machines assembled by the Belarusian company. However, there are still some nuances and features specific to each brand's equipment. Let's look at how to properly use an Atlant automatic washing machine and how to properly prepare the machine for use.
Pros and cons of this brand of machines
Atlant washing machines have been produced since 2003. The Belarusian company of the same name specializes exclusively in the assembly of units, sourcing components from foreign manufacturers. Among the advantages of this brand's machines are:
- affordable price of equipment;
- adaptability of the equipment to hard tap water and electricity surges;
- reliability of machines;
- high quality washing, corresponding to class "A";
- wide functionality. The software for Atlant washing machines includes various add-ons, options, and functions that allow you to run a wash of any complexity.;
- A simple interface and convenient operation of the device. A digital display or clear indicators allow users to monitor the work process;
- Low noise level. While the machine will be audible, the sound won't disturb your family or, especially, your neighbors;
- The efficiency of most Atlant models. This primarily refers to their low energy consumption. However, not all washing machines are so efficient, so pay attention to this factor when purchasing;
- A wide range of equipment. Among the Atlant models, it's easy to find the narrowest models, suitable for small spaces;

- long service life without maintenance;
- The ability to lock the control panel during washing. This will prevent accidental interference with the equipment's operation;
- Machines are easy to repair. The machines are very easy to repair; the necessary parts can be purchased in stores or online, and they are inexpensive.
These are general advantages; the advantages of specific models need to be examined separately. Regarding the Atlantes' disadvantages, the following should be highlighted:
- Insufficient spin performance. Water is drained at class "D" standards, which is practically the lowest. Some machines vibrate heavily during the spin cycle, causing them to "jump" around the room, moving significantly from their initial position;
- Equipped with commutator motors. These motors are significantly inferior to inverter motors in terms of reliability, efficiency, and durability;
- The lack of a sensor monitoring the foam level in the drum. This can cause certain malfunctions and lead to leaks;
- Design flaws in some models. For example, opening the door causes a small amount of water to spill onto the floor. Also, debris often accumulates between the drum and its fins.
Before purchasing a specific Atlant washing machine, carefully review its specifications and read real customer reviews. This will help you understand all the pros and cons of the machine in advance.
Program overview
Proper use of a washing machine requires careful study of all washing modes. This is necessary to correctly select the program based on the type of fabric and the severity of the soiling.
The most affordable Atlant models have at least 15 special modes, allowing you to select the optimal washing parameters.
The software for Belarusian sewing machines allows for sewing items made from various fabrics, wool, and even genuine and artificial leather. A detailed description of the programs, as well as additional options, is provided in the equipment instructions. Let's briefly talk about the main washing modes found on Atlant machines.
- Cotton. This program is ideal for washing bed linens, cotton items, towels, and more. You can select a water temperature from 30°C to 90°C. The cycle duration ranges from 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
- Synthetics. These fabrics are easily deformed and prone to fading. Therefore, the washing liquid in this mode is heated to a maximum of 60°C, although 40°C is also possible. The program takes approximately 2 hours, with the spin cycle performed at maximum speed.
- Delicates. This cycle is designed for washing silk, satin, cashmere, and other delicate fabrics. The cycle lasts about an hour, with the water heated to 40 degrees Celsius. There's no spin cycle, and the drum rotates slowly and gently.
- Pre-wash. This is activated when items are heavily soiled. The machine will begin the pre-wash cycle first, followed by the main wash. It's important to remember to add detergent to the second section of the detergent drawer.
- Intensive wash. Suitable for clothes made from durable fabrics that won't shrink. The water temperature is raised to 95°C, and the cycle lasts 2 hours. This cycle is used to remove stubborn or difficult-to-remove stains from laundry.
- Express wash. Used for lightly soiled clothes. This treatment refreshes items and eliminates odors. Washing time is 15 to 45 minutes. Temperature: 30-40°C.
- Baby Clothes. This program is ideal for washing baby items such as diapers, pants, and undershirts. The water is heated to high temperatures. It also includes a long rinse to completely remove any detergent particles.
- Sports. This mode is designed for washing suits and athletic training kits. Sneakers and trainers can also be thrown into the drum for cleaning.
- Combination wash. You don't have to sort your laundry beforehand when running this program. It's suitable for both cotton and synthetic fabrics. However, you should still monitor the color of your items to prevent discoloration of light-colored items.
- Night wash. This feature turns off all sound signals, reducing noise and vibration.
- Biophase. This mode is activated if the fabric is stained with an organic or protein-based stain, such as wine, cosmetics, plants, etc. Removing it is very difficult, but using this program and an enzyme, it is quite possible.
- Easy ironing. This method uses a reduced spin cycle, leaving clothes slightly damp, making ironing easier.
- Rinsing. Items are cleaned of any remaining soap solution. Detergents are removed not only from the surface but also from within the fabric fibers.
- Spinning. If the laundry is very damp at the end of the program, you can run a second spin. The process will last approximately 5 minutes.
Before using your washing machine, it's best to carefully read the instructions and understand the characteristics of each mode. You should also understand what additional options and functions your Atlant has. This will help you achieve maximum washing results.
Connection and preparation for operation
Once your washing machine arrives from the store, carefully remove the packaging and unscrew the shipping bolts. These screws secure the drum, protecting it from damage during transit. To ensure the longest possible life for your washing machine, be sure to connect it to your home's utilities and electrical network, following basic installation guidelines.
- Connecting to the power grid. It's important to ensure that the power supply voltage meets the standards. If any discrepancies are found, it's best to install a voltage stabilizer. An extension cord (if used) should be rated for 2500-3000 watts.
- Water supply. A water supply tee is typically used here. A shut-off valve is also installed where the inlet hose enters the pipe. It is also advisable to install a filter to purify the incoming water.
- Drainage. A temporary outlet can be installed; in this case, the machine's drain hose is routed into a bathtub or sink and secured with a special hook. This method has one advantage: minimal time investment. The disadvantages include the risk of flooding if the hose slips off, and unhygienic conditions. It's better to take the trouble and install a permanent drainage system. This can be done using a special drain trap or connecting the drain directly to the sewer pipe.
The diagrams for connecting the washing machine to the utilities are described in the instructions.
When organizing drainage, it is important to comply with regulatory distances. The connection point of the drain hose to the siphon should be located at a level of 50 cm from the floor. Otherwise, water may drain out of the machine by gravity. Also, if you don't follow the recommendations, wastewater may leak into the washing machine, causing an unpleasant odor from the sewer.
The first use of the machine should be done under close observation. A test wash is run with the drum empty. During the cycle, the machine is monitored for leaks, water intake, and drum speed.
It's important to do the first wash without laundry but with detergent. This is necessary to flush out all factory dirt from the system and eliminate the distinctive smell of new equipment.
Then you can load the laundry into the machine and start the program. The procedure will be as follows:
- Sort the items, load the batch into the drum (without exceeding the maximum permissible weight);
- close the door tightly;
- load the dispenser sections with powder, conditioner, bleach (if necessary);
- press the "On" button;
- use the selector to set the desired program;
- Click "Start".
The cycle progress will be displayed on the screen. When the cycle is complete, the machine will emit a distinctive beep. The washing results directly depend on the quality of the detergents used, so pay special attention to this.
Clean your machine regularly
To ensure your Atlant washing machine lasts as long as possible without requiring repairs, it's important to take care of it. Regular cleaning, internal cleaning, airing, and degreasing are essential.
Proper maintenance of the washing machine should be provided after each wash cycle.
To ensure safe cleaning, unplug the machine and turn off the water supply. Then, wipe all exterior surfaces with a damp, clean cloth. Always remove the detergent drawer, rinse it with warm water, dry it, and then replace it. The door should always be left slightly ajar to prevent moist air from stagnating inside.
The drum surface also needs cleaning. Simply wipe it with a soft, damp cloth after each use. The door seal can be cleaned with a dry cloth. The washing machine should be periodically “washed” from the inside to prevent scale formation on the main components and elements of the machine. To do this, you can buy special cleaning compounds or resort to folk remedies, for example, citric acid or baking soda with vinegar.
It's also important to clean the debris filter. It protects the drain pump and catches foreign objects (paper, coins, buttons) that have entered the system. Cleaning is recommended every six months. Unscrew the filter element from the housing, rinse it with cold water, and then reinstall it. Additionally, rinse the filter after washing long-pile woolen items.
The water supply system also has two filters: one in the inlet hose and one in the outlet. It is recommended to clean them once a year under running water using a brush.
Therefore, using the Atlant automatic washing machine is quite straightforward. It's important to carefully read the instructions, properly connect the machine to the power grid, and ensure proper maintenance during subsequent use.
