How to use the Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine

You can learn how to use your Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine from the instructions included with the machine. Before installing and starting the machine, read the manual. It explains how to connect the machine, how to start it for the first time, and describes the main modes programmed into the intelligent system. By following these recommendations, you'll be able to set up the washing machine correctly.

De-preservation and installation of the machine

When your washing machine arrives from the store, let it sit for a couple of hours. Let it adjust to room temperature. Then, carefully remove the packaging from the appliance.

If possible, it is better to entrust the installation and connection of the washing machine to specialists.

If you're confident in your abilities, you can connect the washing machine yourself. Check with the store to see if installing the washing machine yourself will void the warranty. Sometimes, this will void your free service coverage.

Once the machine has settled, you can begin installation. Be sure to remove the shipping bolts that are used to secure the drum during transport. If this is not done, the washing machine may break down the first time you start it.

The number and location of the shipping bolts are provided in the instructions. After removing the fasteners, insert the plastic plugs included with the washing machine into the resulting holes.

What other rules should be followed when installing an automatic washing machine?

• The washing machine can only be placed on a hard, level surface.
• Be sure to level the device - the height of the body is adjusted using the feet.
• Allow at least 2-2.5 cm of clearance between the sides of the machine and any furniture. Leave 5-6 cm of clearance at the rear of the machine.
• The washing machine hatch must be able to open freely to 180 degrees.

It's recommended to place a special rubber mat under the washing machine to absorb vibrations. This will make the washing machine even quieter. Anti-vibration mats are available at hardware stores.

We connect the hoses and the power cord

The Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine is connected to a cold water supply only. An inlet hose for connecting the washing machine to the water supply is included. It's important to install the appliance at an appropriate distance from the water supply to ensure the inlet hose is long enough.

A shut-off valve is always installed before the inlet hose. This valve will allow you to shut off the water supply to the machine if necessary. Next, check the connections for leaks. This will prevent leaks during further use of the appliance.

The washing machine is then connected to the sewer system. There are three acceptable connection options:

• lower the other end of the drain hose into the bathtub or sink;
• connect the corrugated pipe to the siphon nipple;
• install the drainage hose directly into the sewer pipe.

The drain hose should be positioned at a certain bend, at a distance of 60-100 cm from the floor level.

The standard length of a washing machine drain hose is one and a half meters. If this isn't long enough, don't extend the hose. It's better to purchase a single hose of the correct size and connect the washing machine to it.

An equally important detail is connecting the washing machine to the power supply. Automatic washing machines require a separate, water-resistant, grounded outlet. This outlet should be located 60 cm or higher from the floor.

The minimum height of 60 cm is for safety reasons. This prevents water from entering the socket in the event of a leak, preventing a short circuit.

The washing machine's outlet must be connected to a separate circuit breaker via a residual-current device (RCD). The wiring must be rated for the machine's load, with a small margin of safety. The Bosch Max 4 washing machine's instructions prohibit the use of extension cords to connect the appliance to the power outlet. The machine must be plugged directly into the outlet.

Let's start washing

Once you have installed your “home assistant” and connected it to the utilities, you can start washing. The first time the machine is started, it is empty – without items in the drum, but with cleaning agent. This is necessary to clean the inside of the machine from dirt, dust, and technical fluids.

After the first run, you can run the "Rinse" cycle again. Next, wipe the drum with a clean, damp cloth. Only then can you load laundry into the machine.

Next, sort your items by color, fabric type, soil level, and temperature tolerance. Fasten buttons and zippers, and remove any removable decorative elements. Place socks and underwear in designated laundry bags.

The further algorithm of actions will be as follows:

• open the washing machine door and make sure the drum is empty;
• load a batch of laundry into the machine;
• pour the detergent into the powder dispenser;
• turn on the machine, use the programmer to select the desired washing mode;
• adjust the cycle parameters if necessary (change the temperature, spin speed, add soaking or extra rinsing, etc.);
• Start the wash by pressing the "Start" button.

Be sure to consider the maximum load capacity. If the machine is rated for 6 kg of laundry, it's important to adhere to this limit and not exceed it. As for detergents, they should be labeled "Automatic."

When the wash cycle is complete, the washing machine will beep. Remove the laundry from the drum and wipe the drum walls with a dry cloth. Excess moisture will also be removed from the rubber seal. It's important to leave the washing machine with the door and detergent drawer open to allow it to air out.

Selecting the appropriate washing algorithm

The Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine offers several washing modes for different fabrics. A description of all programs is provided in the machine's manual. We'll explain the available modes.

• Whites 90°C. Cotton wash program. Water is heated to 90 degrees.
• Intensive 60°C. This cycle is designed for heavily soiled cotton items.
• Coloreds 30°C, 40°C, 60°C. This program is designed for the care of durable cotton and linen items at different water temperatures.
• Synthetics 30°C, 40°C, 60°C. Algorithm for synthetic and blended fabrics.
• Delicates 30°C. This cycle provides gentle washing. Suitable for delicate fabrics such as silk and lace.
• Wool 15°C, 30°C. Mode for washing woolen items.

Switching between washing modes is carried out using a rotary programmer located on the control panel.

Using the buttons on the dashboard, you can connect auxiliary options to the cycle, such as:

• quick wash (reduces cycle time);
• extra rinse;
• soak.

You can also use the buttons on the dashboard to adjust the spin speed or turn it off completely. Information on the duration of each wash cycle is provided in the washing machine's instructions. Cycle duration can vary from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours.
