Using a Daewoo washing machine
Learning to use a Daewoo washing machine is easy, especially if you've previously owned a top-loading or front-loading machine. Almost all washing machines have similar controls, right down to the control panel and built-in programs. Starting a cycle is simple: simply load the laundry into the drum, add detergent, select a mode, and press "Start." But don't forget about the brand's unique features—Daewoo boasts several unique features and functions. We invite you to get to know your machine better with our detailed instructions and review.
First and subsequent launches
After purchasing a new washing machine, regardless of brand, you must first study the manufacturer's instructions. Each Daewoo model is sold with a "booklet" that describes the operating characteristics of the machine, a list of modes, installation and use details, and installation and maintenance instructions. In addition to the points from the user manual, it is worth remembering a few additional recommendations:
- the first run should be “blank”: with an empty drum and with detergent (the equipment will be washed from factory grease and checked for factory defects);
- When adding detergent, please take into account the compartment markings;
- When loading items into the drum, you should be guided by the minimum and maximum capacity of the machine;

- information from clothing labels must be taken into account;
- The cycle parameters can be adjusted if necessary using the corresponding buttons.
To avoid imbalance, do not exceed the load capacity of your Daewoo washing machine!
Before washing, always check the pockets of items loaded into the machine. Any debris, paper, keys, and coins left in the clothes can get caught in the drum during rotation, clog the drain, damage the door seal, or jam the pump impeller or the cylinder itself.
Basic modes
Modern Daewoo washing machines delight users with simplified controls—just press a couple of buttons to start a cycle. The key is to figure out which dashboard icons hide the appropriate modes and functions. These machines offer dozens of programs tailored to specific fabric types, colors, and soil levels. Most of the options are standard.
- Cotton. This cycle is designed for items made from the same fabric type. It's generally suitable for bedding, towels, and shirts. This program is designed for washing heavy fabrics: water temperature up to 90 degrees Celsius, maximum spin, and washing time up to 2.5 hours.
- Synthetics. Designed for cleaning synthetic and blended fabrics, it's set to 40-60 degrees, maximum spin, and a wash cycle of 1-2 hours.
- Delicates. An alternative to hand washing. Thanks to the smooth rotation of the drum, a large amount of water, and heating up to 30 degrees, it gently washes delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, and knitwear. Duration: 40-60 minutes.
- Pre-wash. A cycle in which items are pre-washed before the main wash. After this cycle, the standard program automatically resumes. The main thing is to pour the detergent into the designated compartment of the detergent drawer.
When turning on the pre-wash, be careful - you need to add powder into the special compartment of the dispenser!
- Express Wash. This program is designed for quickly cleaning lightly soiled laundry. The cycle lasts 15-45 minutes thanks to minimal heat and a quick spin.
- Intensive. Activate this program if your laundry is made of thick fabrics and is heavily soiled. A temperature of 90-95 degrees Celsius and rapid drum rotation for 2 hours removes stains from the fibers.

- Children's. The name says it all: this cycle is designed for cleaning children's clothing. Heating to 60-90 degrees, a long cycle, and generous water intake ensure high-quality washing and rinsing, removing stubborn stains and preventing allergies to detergent.
- Sport. A special program for cleaning sportswear and thermal underwear. Ideal for items made of membrane, stretch, and latex. Thanks to specially selected settings, the “breathable” properties of the laundry are preserved, and strong sweat odor is eliminated. This mode also allows you to wash shoes, sneakers, trainers, and ballet shoes.
- Night. This feature provides a quiet wash cycle thanks to the slow drum rotation and the absence of cycle sounds. This allows you to run your Daewoo at night, saving time during the day.
- Biophase. This program gently removes tough protein stains from fabrics, including wine, lipstick, blood, grass, and blood. The key is to add enzyme-based detergent to the detergent dispenser when starting the cycle.
- Easy ironing. A low spin cycle and slow drum rotation minimize wrinkles, making ironing easier.
- Rinse. Allows you to restart the rinse cycle. This rinses away any remaining detergent from the fabric in 3-4 minutes.
- Spin. Reactivated if clothes are not spun properly. Duration: 3-5 minutes.
Some Daewoo models offer unique programs or enhanced standard ones. To fully appreciate the machine's functionality, it's important to carefully read the instructions. The user manual describes all available options in detail: the option designation, its duration, water temperature, and spin speed.
