How to use a clothes dryer
Despite their obvious benefits, clothes dryers aren't as common in modern households as washing machines or dishwashers. Because of this, new buyers often don't understand how to properly use a clothes dryer. Therefore, it's crucial to first read the user manual, which not only outlines the operating instructions and recommendations but also explains all the features of this modern "home assistant." This is essential to avoid accidentally damaging expensive appliances or valuables, which can be easily damaged during an improperly set cycle. We'll take a detailed look at clothes dryers, including how to store items inside, how to maintain them, and much more.
Placing items inside the cabinet
The following instructions assume that your drying cabinet is already installed and connected to all utilities, so it can be used for drying clothes. Each wardrobe has three sections with hangers, each with special rods for storing items. To ensure maximum drying efficiency, these sections must be used correctly.
- Place items in your closet based solely on how much space they require, not how much they weigh.
- To ensure effective drying, avoid placing clothes on the topmost section of the closet.
- The longest items should be placed against the walls of the closet, and short items should be left in the center.
- For maximum productivity, fold the bottom two sections with hangers when drying long items of clothing such as dresses, coats, and more.
- Small items such as hats, gloves and scarves should be placed on special hangers on the inside of the door.
- For convenience, pull the hangers in the top section forward and push them back when you don’t need them.
- Don't overload your closet, otherwise the laundry will not only fail to dry, but will also become very wrinkled.
- Leave at least a minimal gap between things.

- The gap between items should be larger if the item may fade and ruin nearby clothes.
- It is advisable not to treat small and large items together, as they require different amounts of time to dry completely.
- Avoid hanging knitted items as they will stretch during the drying process due to their extreme weight when wet.
- Try to immediately remove dried items from the closet to speed up the drying of the items remaining there.
- Before starting work, check the ventilation duct and air intake - they should not be blocked in any way, and there should be no dust or dirt in them.
Following these basic rules will ensure that your clothes always dry properly, without worrying about the safety of your clothes or the condition of your expensive drying cabinet.
Getting to know the programs and functions
Now let's look at the operating modes and additional options. It's simply impossible to list them all, as the range of programs and options varies depending on the brand and specific model, so we'll describe the most basic operating cycles found in every "home assistant."
It is worth considering that drying cabinets for household use are equipped not only with automatic modes, but also with manual ones.
Automatic dryers differ from manual dryers in that the drying process stops automatically once the items are dry. During the last 10 minutes of operation, the heating is switched off and the fan starts to cool the clothes. Manual programs allow you to run the oven for a set amount of time, after which it will stop. A cool-down period in manual cycles also begins 10 minutes before the end of the cycle. Classic automatic modes include:
- Automatic 40 Normal – used for working with medium-density clothing.
- Automatic 40 Extra – needed for dense multi-layer products.
- Automatic 60 Normal – similar to the first mode, only the temperature is set at 60 degrees Celsius instead of 40.
- Automatic 60 Extra – the operating principle is similar to the second mode, only the drying temperature is different.
Choose the temperature depending on the information indicated on the clothing label.
Now let's look at the basic manual modes found in modern drying cabinets. The following programs are typically available to users:
- Manual 30 – a cycle where the user can set the washing time. This mode is suitable for garments made from the most delicate fabrics, which should not be washed at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.
- Manual 40 – a program for clothes that can withstand a temperature of 40.
- Manual 60 – similar, only the exposure level is another 20 degrees higher.
- Manual Energy Saving – in this program, items are processed not by heating, but by using a fan.
It's also worth noting the useful auxiliary features typically found in more expensive appliances. Inexpensive units typically only offer a child safety lock and a steam option. The former is activated and deactivated with a special button combination, while the latter has a dedicated button on the control panel that allows you to select the steam intensity. Steam treatment will leave your clothes feeling fresh, which is especially helpful if you haven't washed them before drying.
We start drying
Once you've read the instructions for filling the cabinet and its basic operating modes, you're ready to start. To avoid confusion, review the instructions step by step.
- Activate the device using the power key.
- The display will light up and show the mode that was last launched.
- If you are satisfied with the selected program, which will flash on the display, then press the OK button.
- If the mode is not suitable for the current situation, you can select another one using the UP and DOWN buttons and then confirm with the OK button.

This way, you can activate the automatic drying mode. When using one of the manual cycles, the procedure will be slightly different.
- Launch the “home assistant”, the last selected mode will appear on the display.
- If it is suitable, then press the OK button, after which the working cycle time will start flashing on the display, either the default one or the one you selected last time.
- If the duration suits you, you need to press OK again to start drying.
- If you are not initially satisfied with the selected operating time, you need to change it using the UP and DOWN buttons, increasing and decreasing the duration, and then confirm with the OK button.
- If the drying mode itself is not suitable, you can change it in the same way as described in the example with automatic cycles.
After finishing work, remember to immediately remove dry items from the closet and move them to a regular storage location, as it is not a good idea to keep clothes in the dryer all the time.
How to maintain a dryer?
To ensure that expensive household appliances last a long time, they need not only regular cleaning but also maintenance. Each wall of the cabinet should be wiped with a cloth and soapy water to remove dust, which usually collects near the air intakes at the bottom and top of the cabinet. If this is not done, dirt and dust can cause the cabinet to fail.
That's why, for safety, it's a good idea to also vacuum the air vents and the top of the cabinet at least once a year. Also, don't forget the condensate collection container. If your model has one, empty it regularly as it fills, as a special indicator will let you know.
