What dishes can be washed in the dishwasher?

All sections are important, from connection instructions to maintenance and care recommendations. Pay particular attention to the information on dishwasher-safe dishes, as not all cutlery can withstand a dishwasher. To avoid ruining your favorite plates and pans, carefully read this section and review your kitchenware.

What can you put in the dishwasher without fear?

Most kitchen items are dishwasher-safe, with a limited number of exceptions. However, these appliances can be significantly damaged by the dishwasher, sometimes even causing it to malfunction. To determine whether an item is dishwasher-safe, inspect its bottom.

All modern utensils have special markings that determine which household appliances they are approved for use with. The icon that allows you to place it in the dishwasher bin is a picture of a plate and a wine glass with streams of water pouring from above; some manufacturers may replace one glass with a smaller plate.

Items that are dishwasher safe include:ceramic tableware in the dishwasher

  • ceramic items – they are not afraid of high temperatures;
  • Stainless steel products are approved for washing on all modes, including intensive;
  • plastic (containers, silicone molds, cutting boards, water filter jugs) - will not be damaged if they are placed correctly, that is, upside down;
  • glassware - baking dishes, glasses and cups, goblets and plates and other kitchen utensils (if you add rinse aid to the machine, the glass will not have streaks and will gain a shine);
  • Zepter brand cookware, after removing the handle with the thermometer.

Water filters can be washed after removing the cartridge; the recommended temperature is 40 degrees.

Porcelain items are also dishwasher safe, but please read the care instructions first. To do this, carefully read the manufacturer's symbols. For most items, the recommended temperature is 50-60 degrees Celsius.

What is not advisable or should not be washed in a dishwasher?

In addition to approved and permitted items, there are items that are strictly prohibited from being washed in the dishwasher. There are several reasons for this prohibition: some items simply cannot withstand washing, even on delicate cycles; others may become significantly deformed or damaged; and still others may lose their essential properties.

  • Melchior items – cutlery made from this metal, which looks very similar to silver, darken and lose their attractive appearance after washing in a washing machine.
  • Cast iron – stove grates, cauldrons, pots, and pans made of this alloy should be washed at low temperatures and without any detergents. Otherwise, a whitish film will form on the surfaces, and with frequent washing, rust will begin to eat away at them. Sand or table salt are recommended as abrasives. Ceramic-coated cast iron can withstand being washed in household appliances, but it is not recommended.cast iron cookware
  • Wooden accessories can become deformed if left in water for long periods or exposed to high temperatures.
  • Enameled cookware and utensils with a Teflon coating. Both types of coating are damaged by high temperatures and begin to peel off, after which their continued use can pose a health risk.
  • Copper and brass items become deformed and darken in color.
  • Silver. This precious metal loses its luster and can tarnish when in contact with other alloys. However, some dishwasher models are equipped with a special container for washing silverware.silverware
  • Aluminum cookware not only darkens from high temperatures, but also stains the components of the household appliance with its particles, which are washed off during washing.
  • Crystal. Washable on a delicate cycle using mild detergents.
  • Porcelain items, whether uncoated or gilded, can lose their appearance with frequent washing due to particles that wash off.

Before placing dishes in the bin, carefully inspect and sort them. Proper handling of appliances and kitchenware, including proper placement in the compartments and selecting the appropriate operating mode, will make dishwashing a pleasant and safe experience and extend the life of your appliances.
