Who is the manufacturer of Hansa washing machines?
Hansa washing machines are known as reliable European appliances. They've only recently appeared on the Russian market, but have already earned a lot of praise from users. Let's discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Hansa washing machines, and where they're assembled.
Brand history
Hansa is not a factory that manufactures household appliances; it is simply a brand owned by the Polish company Amica Wronki SA, founded in 1921. The factory's first products were kitchen utensils, then heating appliances.
The Soviet Union was well acquainted with this company's gas stoves, which had been in production since 1961. The subsequent history of the company's production only began to change in the 1990s:
- In 1992, a plant for the production of built-in household appliances was established;
- In 1996, a refrigerator assembly plant was built;
- The brand was created in 1997 Hansa, under which they begin to sell stoves and other equipment;
- In 2000, another plant for the production and repair of washing machines appeared.
Please note! Amica has only four factories in Poland, each producing a specific type of equipment. This equipment is supplied to stores in 50 countries worldwide under both the Amica brand and the Hansa, Premier, and Gram brands.
The Russian market offers Hansa washing machines and other appliances assembled not only in Poland but also in Turkey and China. It's unclear whether these are subsidiaries or licensed companies of Amica, the brand's copyright holder. Draw your own conclusions.
Pros and cons
Regardless of the country in which they were assembled, Hansa washing machines are recognizable and have their own characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. Let's start with the advantages:
- Firstly, Hansa washing machines have low energy and water consumption;
- secondly, wide functionality, Some models of machines have up to 23 washing modes and functions, for example, the Hansa AWB 508LR machine;
- thirdly, the machines have low noise and vibration levels;
- fourthly, they have clear controls, such washing machines are easy to learn and use;
- Fifthly, Hansa washing machines can last for many years, even with intensive use.
Please note! Hansa washing machines have large drum capacities, ranging from 5 to 9 kg of dry laundry, and some models even feature a drying function. They are available in classic white, dark gray, and even red.
The negative characteristics of washing machines of this brand include:
- weak bearings and a pump, which break more often than other parts;
- short inlet and outlet hoses, which complicates the connection process;
- low quality of steel used in production;
- rapid clogging of filters;
- Difficulty in obtaining spare parts in case of breakdown, although these machines break down extremely rarely.
User reviews
To understand how good Hansa washing machines are, we decided to look for reviews, and here are the ones that interested us most.

I had a Hansa Comfort 1000 washing machine for four years, and all that time I was convinced it was made in Germany. I couldn't be happier with it; I loved its design, compact size, and wide range of programs for different fabrics. I only learned about her true Polish origins when I decided to write a review. I bought this car thinking it was German. I appreciate German quality, but I didn’t think to read the country of manufacture on the packaging.
I'm impressed by this machine's water injection system, which has a positive effect on washing results. The display always shows the exact time remaining in the wash cycle. But it did have its drawbacks, the main one being that it's too fast. clogged filter, which requires very frequent cleaning. The second is the large gap between the drum and the door, which allows small items to get caught, which is extremely inconvenient. Despite this, I loved the machine, but it broke due to a short circuit and the control board burned out. A replacement was too expensive, so I decided to buy a new Belarusian one.

I really don't like the Hansa Comfort 1000 washing machine, but I have something to compare it to; it's my third. I bought it after the salesperson at the store talked me into it. But problems started appearing almost immediately after purchase. Firstly, the machine reacts to overload or underload, since it has a weight sensor, after washing it freezes and refuses to spin the laundry. It's annoying to have to take things out and put them back in when you're in a hurry.
Secondly, the instructions are incomplete. There's no explanation on how to fix a program error or which button to press. Thirdly, in seven years of use, the machine has been repaired six times. The heating element and drive belt have been replaced twice each, and the drain hose and bearings have been replaced once each. The only advantage of this machine is its wide range of convenient modes.

We really wanted a washer-dryer and spent a long time searching for an affordable model. We settled on the Hansa WDHS1260L. It performs perfectly. On the full drying setting, my clothes are overdried, so I choose the medium setting. I haven't seen a washer-dryer like this before, but I recommend it to everyone.

We bought a Hansa AWB 508LR washing machine and have been using it for over six months now. It has a variety of settings that are easy to adjust. It uses little water and energy and washes laundry perfectly. I trust German quality; my husband chose the right one. I hope my review helps you make your choice.
As we can see, washing machines of this brand are in demand due to their affordable price. But not many people know that these cars are assembled in Poland, China or Turkey; some are still convinced that the country of manufacture is Germany. This doesn't mean they're of poor quality, but they're definitely different from German ones. Be careful when choosing!

Hansa is a good machine. It worked for six years, then the software crashed, and the repairmen fixed it for 3,500 rubles. A year passed, and it's exactly the same... but despite all that, its advantages are huge: it takes a lot of laundry, rinses well, and the pump practically doesn't require cleaning (no matter how many times I opened it, there was simply nothing to clean). It's such a shame it broke!
I use a Hansa WHB 1238 washing machine, and it washes well. However, the washing instructions are incomplete; you select a program and don't really know how long it will wash. The instructions only list the programs, and the machine doesn't have half of them. I've been using this machine for 2.5 years, and I still can't figure out where the second rinse is. After a while, I catch myself thinking I shouldn't have bought this machine. I thought it was German, but it turns out it's not German at all. The Germans are precise and accurate.
