How to unlock the door of a Dexp washing machine
When something goes wrong during a wash cycle, a housewife is completely unprepared. One of the most common problems is a blocked door, which can become unresponsive. However, this isn't a reason to panic, as unlocking a Dexp washing machine is often quite simple, so you can fix it without even calling a repairman. The problem could be a built-in safety mechanism, a one-time control module failure, or a minor blockage that's easy to fix yourself. We'll take a detailed look at how to troubleshoot and fix the problem.
What happened to the door?
If your "home helper" has completed its work cycle and you are still unable to open the door, do not use force under any circumstances. This way you can only damage the lock or the door itself. It's better not to rush, but to try to find the source of the problem.
- A standard automatic locking system. After each wash, the door remains locked for a few minutes, so simply wait a bit for the mechanism to open. Sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes, but eventually the door unlocks automatically.
- A one-time failure. A system failure, possibly caused by a sudden power surge, a power outage, or a disruption in the water supply, may be to blame.
- Damaged lock. The problem could also lie in the locking mechanism. This can occur due to heavy use, which causes natural wear, or due to careless handling of the lock, such as if the user closed the door too roughly.

- A clogged drain hose. If the hose block is at fault, the waste liquid will simply be unable to drain from the tank after the cycle, preventing the control module from transmitting a signal to the door lock to open the door.
If a blockage is to blame, the door will not open even when the working cycle is completely completed.
- Child lock. Finally, it's quite possible that the child lock was accidentally activated, which must be manually deactivated after the cycle.
That's why you shouldn't use force if the hatch won't open after the washing machine has finished working. Instead, you should systematically check each of the five steps, having first reviewed the procedure in the official user manual. If you don't have the Dexp manual at hand, proceed to the next sections of the article, where we'll cover in detail how to resolve a locked door.
Just wait for a while
The first thing you need to do is simply wait. Users often forget about the automatic door lock, which is found on almost every front-loading washing machine. Waiting just a few minutes allows the drum to come to a complete stop, the waste liquid to drain, and the control module to automatically release the lock from the door.
Everything described above is only relevant for a washing machine with an empty tank in which there is no more water; otherwise, you will have to proceed differently.
If the time has passed and you still can't open the door, you'll have to change your approach. In this situation, try unplugging the appliance and leaving it unplugged for about half an hour to an hour.
It's quite possible that the "home assistant" reacted this way to a sudden voltage change, a sudden power outage, or a brief interruption in the water supply. During this time, the system will be able to reset its settings, allowing the door lock to open.
The buttons are not responding
If waiting has yielded no results, then you need to carefully study the CM control panel. It may be that the door does not open and the buttons do not work because the child safety lock has been activated. Usually it can be turned on by pressing two buttons at the same time – most often these are the “Extra rinse” and “No spin” buttons.
The exact lock combination can be found in the manufacturer's instructions.
If the specified combination doesn't work, you can look for the lock icon on the control panel, which will be located between the two keys required for locking. Simply press and hold these two buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the door should open.
This method only works if the drum has been emptied, so there's no risk of flooding the floors. If the drum is still full of water that hasn't drained, other methods will be necessary.
What to do if the washing machine tank is not empty?
Now let's look at a situation where the machine doesn't empty the waste liquid after the cycle is complete. In this situation, the drainage system is clearly to blame and should be thoroughly examined. First, wait a few minutes—this will help rule out a simple automatic lock, which may shut off after a delay. If nothing happens, try troubleshooting the problem yourself as follows:
- Activate the spin or rinse program.
- Wait until the work is completed.
- If the situation repeats, carefully examine the drain hose.
- If there is a blockage in the hose, remove it.
- Restart the spin cycle.

It's also worth remembering the emergency release for Dexp appliances. This is accomplished with a special cable, colored red or orange. It's often located near the filter, just behind the rectangular panel on the lower right side of the washing machine. Simply pull it slowly toward you to remove the door assembly.
If there is still water inside at this time, it may quickly spill onto the floor, so it is best to prepare a container for the liquid in advance and also place rags or towels under the equipment.
If you can't find the emergency shutdown cable, you can try another approach. To do this, you'll need:
- Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply.
- Move it away from the wall to make it easier to disassemble.
- Remove the top cover of the machine.
- Tilt the machine so that the tank is slightly away from the door.
- Carefully inspect the mechanism of the opened lock.
- Find the tongue responsible for securing the door.
- Move the latch.

You can do all this without assistance, but with someone to back you up, the problem will be much quicker to resolve. If the instructions don't help you open the door, you'll need to find the user manual, which will detail the door mechanism for your specific appliance and the procedure.
Locking mechanism
Often, users accidentally break the door handle or lock while rushing to access washed clothes. Therefore, if you accidentally damage the mechanism, you'll need to resort to an alternative:
- Measure the door circumference.
- Prepare a cord with a diameter of less than 0.5 centimeters and a length that is approximately 25 centimeters longer than the circumference of the door.

- Carefully push the cord through the gap between the door and the CM body.
To simplify the process, you can use a flat-head screwdriver or other similar tool.
- Pull slowly on both ends of the cord to unlock the door.
Remember that this will only open the door with a damaged lock, but it won't solve the problem. You'll still have to replace the faulty part, either yourself or with the help of a service center specialist. Doing this yourself will be very difficult, as you'll not only have to find the right spare part but also disassemble your "home helper" to replace it. That's why it's best to entrust this crucial task to a repair service.
In any case, don't worry if you can't fix the problem yourself. This isn't a serious problem, and any professional can easily handle it.
