Disassembling the Samsung washing machine door

Disassembling the Samsung washing machine doorWhat should you do if your washing machine's door suddenly stops closing properly? Should you call a service center immediately or try to fix the problem yourself? Disassembling a Samsung washing machine door isn't difficult. So, you can save money on professional repairs by repairing your "home helper" yourself.

We'll explain how to disassemble the device, explain the tools you'll need, and highlight any areas that require special attention.

First, the door needs to be dismantled.

If you open and close your Samsung washing machine's door carelessly, it's very easy to damage the handle. This will make it impossible to use the appliance until the problem is fixed. The system will leak, preventing the system from filling the tank with water. You can replace the element yourself; there's nothing complicated about the task.

Disassembling the door while it's suspended is too inconvenient. Therefore, the first step is to detach the element from the frame. The hatch is removed together with the hinges. Algorithm of actions:

  • de-energize the washing machine by unplugging the power cord from the outlet;
  • open the door;
  • find the screws that attach the hinges to the washing machine body;unscrew the door hinge
  • select a wrench of the appropriate size to remove the fasteners;
  • Remove the bolts holding the door hinges.

In addition to the bolts, there are also special hooks on which the door of the Samsung washing machine “hangs”.

So, after removing the bolts, all that's left to do is remove the hatch from the hooks. To do this, slide the door up a few millimeters. When the hinges lift, pull the element toward you. This will release the door from the grooves and place it in your hands.

When removing the door of a Samsung washing machine, be careful. The hooks are made of fragile metal. If you apply too much pressure, the clips may break, which will increase the cost of repairs.

Carefully open the door

To continue working, place the door on a flat surface. It's best to purchase a new replacement handle in advance. Samsung parts are usually easy to find. When choosing, be sure to select the correct part based on your washing machine model.

A flat-blade screwdriver is sufficient for disassembling the washing machine's drum door. To make the job easier and reduce the risk of damaging the part, consider using a thin plastic spatula. This tool will help you pry the door open safely.

Now you can begin disassembling the door. The procedure is as follows:

  • unscrew the screw located between the hinges;We unscrew the screw holding the hatch door halves
  • arm yourself with a slotted screwdriver and a thin plastic spatula;we separate the door halves with a plastic spatula
  • insert a screwdriver between the top and bottom of the hatch;
  • insert a thin plastic spatula into the gap between the door halves;
  • Using careful movements, begin to open the hatch, disconnecting the parts in a circle (be careful not to damage the plastic and glass);
  • remove the top half of the door and set it aside;we separate the halves of the hatch door
  • the broken handle is located at the bottom of the hatch, with glass;
  • Use a thin screwdriver to pry up the “finger” that secures the hook, and remove the rod using nippers;we remove the steel rod from the door mechanism
  • remove the hook (be sure to remember what position it should be in);
  • remove the old handle and put the new element in its place;we put a new handle on the door
  • insert the hook back, fix it with your “finger” (when returning the rod to its place, make sure that it enters all the holes);
  • check that the mechanism works;
  • put the top part of the door back, press it lightly until the latches engage;
  • screw in the screw that was removed earlier.

Check again that the handle responds to your touch and the hook disengages from the groove. After this, you can return the hatch to its original position. First, place the hinges on the special holders, then secure them with bolts.

You can disassemble the door of a Samsung washing machine in 10 minutes at home.

This completes the door disassembly and washing machine repair. Even for a novice, this task will take no more than 20 minutes. However, be careful. Pressing too hard can damage the element, which is made of soft plastic.
