Baby washing powders for newborns rating
Caring for newborns is the foundation of motherhood and fatherhood. In the first weeks of life, parents strive to surround their baby with maximum care, as it's during these weeks that they are most vulnerable. Every step must be carefully considered, as there are no trivial details when caring for newborns. For obvious reasons, baby clothes need to be washed frequently, and newborn clothes are a given – you're guaranteed to have to wash them every day. How should you wash your baby's clothes, and what detergents should you use? Let's discuss this in more detail.
Advantages of a good product
Which laundry detergent is best for newborns?Answering this question is difficult even for a very experienced mother, let alone a woman who has given birth to her first child. The problem is further aggravated by the fact that the quality of already promoted and advertised powders changes, and very often for the worse. How can you choose washing powders in this situation, and avoid a "chemical bomb" that could harm your child's health?
Allergists are sounding the alarm about the increasing incidence of severe allergic reactions in infants to laundry detergents. Half of these cases involve special detergents for newborns.
First, you need to decide what kind of detergent you're looking for: laundry detergent or all-purpose detergent. Laundry detergent is the safest, but the problem is that it doesn't clean well. In particular, it won't remove dried-on poop.
Universal powders are a different matter. While they can do a lot, they often contain ingredients that, to put it mildly, aren't beneficial for the delicate skin and respiratory tract of newborns. To help you narrow down your search, let's look at the characteristics of the best baby powder.
- The powder should not contain difficult-to-rinse components that cause direct harm to the health of newborns.
- The powder should cope well with stains of biological origin and have a disinfecting effect.
- The powder should be affordable, since young families often have limited income.
- Powder for newborns should also be suitable for use in the washing machine.
These requirements seem simple, but few newborn powders on the market meet them. The main stumbling block is the first requirement regarding harmful ingredients. Let's take the much-hyped and highly-advertised Ushasty Nyan powder as an example. Many people know about it and readily use it, but somehow don't bother to check its ingredients. This powder contains phosphates (15%), phosphonates (5%), surfactants (5%), and optical brighteners.
The most dangerous on this list are phosphonates, surfactants and optical brighteners, Because it's practically impossible to rinse them out of fabric, even if you rinse newborn clothes five times. These substances are also dangerous because when they come into contact with a baby's skin, they can trigger allergic reactions and various skin conditions.
In high concentrations, these substances are extremely dangerous, as they damage the child's internal organs, especially the liver and lungs. The bottom line is this: the best laundry detergent for a baby isn't one that doesn't contain any potentially harmful ingredients, but one that contains fully rinseable ingredients.
In this case, it doesn't matter how harmful the chemicals contained in the powder were, if they will still be removed from the fabric along with the dirt.
Soap-based products
Which baby detergents are worth considering for new mothers? Of course, each person decides for themselves what and how much to buy, and this rule applies 100% to detergents. We won't impose our opinions, but rather point you to what we consider to be worthy laundry detergents. Having reviewed numerous different baby detergents, our experts have compiled a unique ranking of these products.
This rating had to be revised several times due to adjustments made by independent experts, and we ultimately decided to split the rating, thus creating two ratings: a rating of baby soaps and a rating of universal baby soaps. Let's start with the rating of baby soaps.
- TOBBI KIDS. This top-rated laundry detergent is recommended by the manufacturer for newborns. It contains a small amount of non-ionic surfactants that rinse out well. The powder's main components are soap and baking soda. It removes a variety of stains well, according to a rating. Moreover, the powder is inexpensive, hypoallergenic, has no harsh chemical odor, comes in convenient, economical packaging, and is machine-washable. The average cost is $4.40 for 2.5 kg.

- Babyline. A laundry detergent recommended for newborns with excellent performance. It didn't make the top spot in the best laundry detergent rankings only due to its relatively high price. However, it doesn't contain any leave-in harmful substances, washes baby's clothes perfectly, and doesn't cause allergic reactions, as confirmed by clinical trials. Price: 12.75 for 2.2 kg.

- Miyoshi Soap. Third place in our ranking of the best baby laundry detergents goes to Miyoshi Soap from Japan. The powder is suitable for newborns' clothes, which is confirmed by its hypoallergenic composition. The powder is made from natural soap and silicates. It has no strong odor and is expensive—$22 for 2 kg.

- Klar Ecosensitive. A soap nut-based laundry detergent from Germany. It has a ton of advantages: it's hypoallergenic, washes baby's clothes perfectly, is suitable for all baby items, is machine-safe, and is even suitable for asthmatics. The only downside is the price. It's exorbitantly priced, costing $19 per kilogram.

Klar Ecosensitive is perhaps one of the most expensive baby powders available on the CIS market today.
- Sonet. Rounding out the top five best baby soap powders is a natural soap concentrate that can be used for both hand and machine washing. It contains vegetable soap, silicates, soda, zeolite, alcohol sulfate, and coconut oil. All ingredients are more or less safe, at least rinseable. The average price is exorbitant—$30 for 2.5 kg—though the powder is used quite economically.

Universal remedies
Now that we've covered laundry detergents, let's present a ranking of the best all-purpose detergents recommended for newborns. All-purpose detergents have a more complex composition, but they also clean clothes better than any laundry detergent. Here are the top five all-purpose detergents.
Frau Schmidt Ocean Baby is a completely eco-friendly laundry detergent recommended for newborns. Named the best detergent for babies by Rich More magazine, it also took first place in our ranking based on the combined criteria. Firstly, it performed best in removing stains. Secondly, it comes in tablet form, making it easy to use. Thirdly, the product is suitable for both hand and machine washing. And finally, fourthly, the product is suitable for newborns, allergy sufferers, and asthmatics. Price: $4 for 20 tablets.

Denkmit Ultra Sensitive. An excellent all-purpose baby detergent from Germany, it took second place in our rating. It removes biological stains with a solid A. The detergent does not contain any leave-in ingredients and is machine-safe. It has two drawbacks: the high price and limited availability. However, there are quite a few online stores that aggressively offer this detergent. A 1216-gram pack costs $6.

MIRARHUS OATS. A very good detergent from South Korea with a pronounced disinfectant effect, designed for washing children's and newborn clothes. The powder does not contain any leave-in harmful substances; however, when washing newborn clothes with this detergent in the washing machine, be sure to use the double rinse cycle. This Korean detergent takes a respectable third place in our ranking. The price is $13 for 2.5 kg.

Tokiko Japan. Fourth place in the ranking of universal powders for children goes to the well-known Japanese product Tokiko Japan. Even though the powder is multi-component, we didn’t find anything harmful or non-rinsable in its ingredients. The detergent removes a wide variety of stains, even the most stubborn ones, without endangering your baby's delicate health. The average price for a 1 kg pack is around $4.

Currently, many environmentally friendly Japanese and Korean baby powders are sold in the CIS countries, and many of them are much better in quality than their local counterparts.
Baby Speci. Rounding out the top five best baby detergents is Baby Speci from Spain. This detergent removed natural stains of biological origin better than any other detergent. While it does contain some harmful components, they rinse out easily, so there's absolutely no risk to your baby—which is precisely what the manufacturer intended. This detergent can be used for both hand and machine washing. The pleasure of using the powder is somewhat overshadowed by its price. – $18 for 1.8 kg, but in all respects it’s a great baby product.

Finally, finding a good laundry detergent suitable for washing newborns isn't easy. Some new mothers prefer to play it safe and boil diapers and baby clothes, as before, in a solution with laundry soap. In our opinion, this is a last resort; it's better to consult with experts and search further for a reputable product. Happy searching!

I used to use Un, but I finally decided to switch. I spent a long time thinking about which product to use. I discovered I was born. I tried a small pack first, liked it, and now I wash everything with it.
I prefer liquid laundry detergents to powdered ones. They dissolve better in water, rinse out easier, and are safer. I'm currently buying Aqua Baby, and it's fantastic. It cleans well, has no odor, and doesn't contain chlorine or phosphates. Baby Line is a decent powder; if it were liquid, I'd give it a five-star rating too.
