Indesit Dishwasher Repair
Indesit dishwashers are assembled in Poland under the supervision of the headquarters in Italy. These appliances attract customers with their low price and relatively good quality. While they don't quite match Bosch's, they are still popular. One of the main drawbacks of these dishwashers is their sensitivity to power surges, which can lead to machine failure. How to repair Indesit dishwashers is discussed below.
Frequent breakdowns
Any number of components can break down in an Indesit dishwasher, especially if it's been in use for a long time or if the operating instructions aren't followed correctly. For example, the circulation pump, temperature sensor, water level sensor, or inlet valve can all fail. rocker arms and cleaning filters become clogged with plaqueBut according to repairmen, the most common parts that break in Indesit dishwashers are the following:
- heating element, which results in a decrease in the quality of dishwashing, since the water does not heat up;
- dishwasher tank, which leads to water leakage and the appearance of extraneous noise. Replacing a tank is a complex repair; the cost of such a service starts from approximately $12 plus the cost of a new tank. In general, it is not as expensive as it seems at first glance, because you will have to disassemble and dismantle the entire body of the dishwasher, which is not so easy for an untrained person to do, so for your own peace of mind, it is better to contact a specialist who will certainly fix the dishwasher;
- The electronic control board is the “brain” of the dishwasher, responsible for the operation of all its internal “organs”.
Replacing the heating element
A heating element can burn out for various reasons: scale buildup, power surges, or wear and tear. This type of failure is considered moderately complex, and repairing it will cost around $12, not including the cost of the heating element itself. However, it's entirely possible to replace it yourself, but first, you'll need to purchase the original part.
Please note: If the machine stops heating water, the error code AL10 should appear on dishwashers with a display.
So, replacing the heating element is carried out as follows:
- disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply;
- place it on the back wall, having first placed something underneath it;
- Unscrew the screws holding the bottom cover of the case and remove it; in some models, it may be necessary to remove the side panels;
- under the cover you can see all the main parts of the machine, As for the heating element, in Indesit dishwashers it comes with the pump;
- take a multimeter in your hands and check the heating element;
- Next, we remove the disposable clamps from the heating element and disconnect it;
- You also need to remove the hose that goes from the pump into the container with water; this is necessary in order to pull out the entire pump with the heating element;
- Now you need to disconnect the ground wire from the pump;
- we take the pump with the attached heater out of the car;
- then unscrew the heating element from the engine counterclockwise;
Important! The heating element's edges are very sharp, so take a rag and cover it before unscrewing it from the pump body.

- Now you need to remove the old sealing ring from the pump;
- Next, you need to lubricate the new sealing rubber and the walls of the heating element with grease;

- we put on the rubber band and connect the pump and the heating element, you will have to apply some force;
- Now you need to replace the old clamps with new ones and install the pump with the heating element in the car, connecting the hose and wires;

- Before assembling the dishwasher body, you need to run a test wash to check the tightness of the connections.
What to do if the control board is faulty?
The control module is responsible for the operation of all the dishwasher's components, receiving signals from various sensors and issuing commands. This complex device can cost $30–$60 or even more for different dishwasher models. Whether such a repair is worthwhile is up to you. Replacing the module is of medium difficulty, so you will probably be able to replace it yourself.
- Unplug the dishwasher.
- Loosen the six screws holding the front panel in place.
- Then remove the 6 screws that hold the control panel in place.
- Carefully remove the control panel and hang it on the door, being careful not to scratch the dishwasher.

- Disconnect all wires from the module by releasing the latches.
- Connect the electrical wires to the new module and insert it into place.
- Assemble the car.

An error message popped up, and the 3:00 and 6:00 indicators were flashing. The problem was with the air valve on the lower right side. I adjusted it, and everything was fine.
