DIY Vestel Washing Machine Repair
Vestel Turkish automatic washing machines have been conquering the Russian market since 2006. While the range is limited, those that are produced are worthy of attention, and customer reviews speak volumes. Vestel washing machine repairs are rare, but they do occur.
Over the past nine years, service centers have developed a unique practice for repairing such machines and are happy to share this information with you, because, after all, most owners of broken equipment will turn to them.
What breaks more often?
Theoretically, any automatic washing machine can break down for a variety of reasons: improper operation, special operating conditions, poor-quality parts, assembly defects, etc. However, these are typically isolated incidents. According to service centers, each brand of washing machine has its own set of malfunctions that occur regularly. Turkish Vestel washing machines are no exception. What malfunctions are common with these machines?
- The washing machine won't start. Although the control panel works, the machine turns on, and a program can be selected, the start button doesn't respond.
- The washing machine freezes after starting the wash cycle. In this case, you can select a program and start it, but after 5-10 minutes, the washing machine stops and stops responding to anything. In about half of the cases it gives error E07.
- The machine isn't picking up either powder or detergent from the dispenser. This type of malfunction is common with new Vestel washing machines and isn't related to water quality or contamination.
This list of Vestel washing machine problems is certainly not exhaustive. There are other malfunctions that might merit a separate article. Here, we'll focus only on the most common problems with this brand's washing machines and try to be as comprehensive as possible.
The washing machine does not start
For some reason, the vast majority of people think that if the washing machine's cycle doesn't start and the start button on the control panel doesn't respond, the problem is definitely with the electronics. Even though the lights on the control panel are on, the switch works, and programs can be selected. In reality, it may be simpler; this is what happens with Vestel washing machines in 40% of cases. The door lock sensor breaks down, the control module assumes that the door is not closed, so it does not start the wash, but does not display an error.
So, the hatch is closed, you press the start button, but nothing happens. Where do you begin to troubleshoot the problem? We recommend starting with the simplest thing.
- Turn off the washing machine, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on. If the problem persists, turn it off and back on again. If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.
- We disconnect the machine from the power supply, open the hatch cover and use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws located near the locking device.
- Carefully remove the locking mechanism from the depths of the washing machine.
Important! The sensor wires are connected to the locking device; be careful not to disconnect them.
- Next, take a multimeter and measure the resistance at the contacts of the locking device sensor.
The resistance of a working thermistor when cold is 900 Ohm; if the device outputs 0 or 1, the blocking device is faulty.
This is the main reason why the washing program won't start. Replace the door locking device, and everything will work fine. If the locking device is working properly, but the problem persists, then the problem is electrical. You'll have to disassemble the control panel and check first the button and then the microcircuit for damage, but it's best not to do this yourself—consult a specialist.
Freezes after washing starts
Vestel washing machines may require repair if your "home helper" suddenly freezes after starting a wash cycle. These freezes typically occur within the first 5-10 minutes of starting a wash cycle and 1-3 minutes before the end. However, the machine doesn't freeze completely; the drum occasionally shows signs of life, the control panel operates, the lights are on, and the display shows the program progress.
If the control panel does not display an error with the E07 code, proceed as follows.
- Turn off the washing machine manually, unplug the power cord from the socket, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and start the washing program. If
The problem no longer occurs, which means the error was resolved by rebooting the control board.. - If the previous step doesn't help, try unplugging the washing machine and checking that it's level. This problem often occurs with Vestel washing machines that are installed on uneven or unsupported floors.
- The sunroof locking device could also be the cause of the freezing. Try pushing the sunroof with your knee. If the machine responds and continues executing the program, the problem is likely with the locking device; it should be checked and replaced as described above.
Please note! An indirect indication of problems with the sunroof is its occasional jamming when opening.
The worst case scenario is when the freezing continues, and the E07 error appears on the display. In this case, the problem is 99% with the control board, and you should call an experienced technician who can accurately diagnose the problem and render a verdict. You won't be able to fix this problem yourself, and we don't recommend trying, as an unsuccessful attempt could result in even more expensive repairs.
Doesn't pick up powder or rinse aid
Another common problem with Vestel washing machines is that they suddenly start washing clothes without any detergent at all, even though owners continue to regularly add and pour detergent into the dispenser. Why does this happen? Why isn't the machine picking up any detergent from the dispenser? In most cases, the cause for Vestel washing machines is the same: the water inlet valve.
For some reason, Turkish cars often have defective filler valves. This defect is tricky; it may not show up for a while, then suddenly pop up, for example, after the warranty period has expired. What's the problem? When you start a wash cycle, the control module commands the fill valve to supply water to the drum. Normally, the valve opens, water begins to flow into the drum, then closes, and the wash cycle begins.
In our case, the valve also opens, but not all the way. As a result, water takes longer to fill and with less pressure, barely reaching the detergent drawer. As a result, the detergent remains undissolved, significantly reducing wash performance.
Please note! Washing machines from Samsung, LG, and Indesit have self-diagnostic systems that detect slow water intake and, if this occurs, generate a corresponding system error. Vestel machines often fail to detect slow water intake.
Repairing a defective valve is useless; it needs to be replaced. How do you do this?
- We purchase a new valve from the corresponding Vestel washing machine model.
- We disconnect the washing machine from the power supply, water supply and sewerage system and remove it from the niche in which it is built in.
- Unscrew the screws holding the top cover and remove it. If you have any problems with this, please read the following article. Removing the top cover of the washing machine.

- Under the cap, where the inlet hose connects, you'll see a plastic inlet valve. Disconnect the sensor wires from it.
- Next, unscrew the fasteners holding the valve with your own hands and remove it.
- Replace the old valve with a new one, screw it in place, and connect the wires. Replace the cover, install and connect the machine, and test its operation.
In conclusion, we'd like to point out that Turkish Vestel washing machines are of average quality, have average specifications, and don't break down very often. However, if they do break down, in most cases they can be repaired yourself. The key is to be aware of common problems and be able to recognize them. Good luck!

There's no power to the heating element. What could be the cause?
My Vestel wm 834fs washing machine, after completing the wash cycle and spinning, starts spinning at a catastrophic speed without even laying out the laundry. As a result, it starts jumping and then shuts off. I replaced the module, but nothing changed. What could be wrong?
It collects water but does not wash.
It doesn't drain the water completely.
Halfway through the wash cycle, the rinse and end of program lights start flashing. The error codes indicate a heating element or temperature sensor malfunction, but the wash continues, runs through, and the laundry stays warm.
With laundry (even with a small amount) it does not pick up the spin speed, it cannot balance, but when empty it picks up the speed.
It does not drain water and gives error E 03.
Vestel wm 1040 e4 stinks, how to clean the filters?
VESTEL OWM 4110 LCD does not spin the drum.
If you get an E06 error, it's most likely the brushes. It's easy to check: lay the car on its side, and the condition of the brushes is clearly visible on the motor. Replacing them is easy. Two screws with a 10 mm wrench and a screwdriver, two screws on each brush.
Check the belt.
The car is 10 years old and is quite repairable. So, it's very easy to fix yourself.
During this time, I've replaced the brushes on the electric motor and the filler valves twice each. I also replaced the drain pump once (I only had to replace the motor, but I didn't bother).
The drum is loose, how to fix it?
Hello, my Vestel NIC1060 isn't filling with water. Could you please tell me what I can do?
The power does not turn on
My Vestel F4WM840 washing machine is six months old. It fills with water, but doesn't wash and immediately clogs. What's wrong?
Hello, I have a Vestel. As soon as I turn it on, it starts downloading and shows an E01 error. What could this be?
It's giving an E01 error. I changed the limit switch, but the error remains. It won't start. What else could it be?
Good evening, I have a Vestel washing machine. When the cycle is running for 3 minutes, the starter stops. I tried canceling it and setting it to spin and drain, but it still stops 3-2 minutes before the end and I can't take the clothes out. I restart it. The same thing. Can you tell me what I should do?
The Vestel AWM 634 washes, but when it starts draining, the drain indicator blinks. But the machine does drain.
Vestel WMO840LE. The wash cycle starts, then after a minute it says it's finished and turns off. The door doesn't lock.
Vestel VM840T washing machine. I start the wash cycle, the water fills, and the motor should start. The transistor burns out right away. There's only one, and I can't tell what brand it is. Can I replace it with a Russian one? Does anyone know? Please help. The motor is working properly, as are the brushes.
My Vestel washing machine stopped spinning during the spin cycle. What should I do?
The Vestel washing machine does not turn on and the message "End" appears.
Same problem, did you solve the problem?
Vestel 1040. The drum is knocking during the spin cycle. I started replacing the shock absorbers. The lower mount is the same as all others, easy to remove. I can't figure out how to remove the upper ones. It looks like the drum needs to be split in half. Right?
