Auto mode in a Bosch dishwasher

Auto mode in a Bosch dishwasherBosch dishwashers feature a wide variety of different modes. Some are found only on a few models, while others are permanent and built into every model. Among the latter is the Auto mode in Bosch dishwashers. What is it and what is it used for? Let's take a look.

Characteristics of the "Auto" program and other algorithms

Finding the automatic mode on the dishwasher's control panel is very easy: it is always indicated either by the word "Auto" directly, or by a cup above two rocker arms, or both at once.

The advantage of the automatic program is that it automatically selects washing parameters based on the degree of contamination of the dishes and their quantity. The water temperature can range from 45 to 65 degrees, and the cycle duration is also automatically regulated. How does the program optimization work? It uses special sensors inside the chamber. What can I wash in this mode?

  • Frying pans, pots, and other rough cooking utensils, along with cutlery. This mode is effective at removing heavily baked-on or dried-on food residues containing protein and starch.
  • Mixed composition of dishes with light contamination: slightly dried ordinary table food residues.

Please note: Dishwashers have many additional features, and the Auto mode supports them all.

In addition, Bosch dishwashers also have the following programs:Bosch PMM programs

  • Intensive wash. Designated on all models as a saucepan over a wash arm. It consists of five stages: pre-rinse, wash at 70 degrees Celsius, intermediate rinse, final rinse with hot water, and drying. Supports all additional functions. Ideal for heavily soiled dishes, including cookware with stubborn stains and heavy food residue.
  • The Eco-50 program. Identified either by the word "eco" or by a glass and mug above the wash rack. It consists of five stages: pre-rinse, wash at 50°C (122°F), intermediate rinse, final rinse at 50°C (122°F), and drying. Suitable for washing mixed loads of medium-heavy soil. Supports all additional functions.
  • Delicate program (glass/glass with glass). Designed for delicate and delicate dishes with virtually no stains. Does not support all additional functions. The Express program (arrows to the right) is used for the same purposes. It only supports additional drying.

There is also a separate pre-rinse program, which can be activated by the user based on his personal preferences.

Additional options for Bosch dishwashers

In addition to the basic programs, Bosch machines are equipped with a variety of additional features that can be very useful for any homemaker. Among them, the following are particularly popular:

  • Delayed Start. This option allows the user to choose the cycle start time and go about their daily activities without having to wait. The program start can be delayed from 1 to 24 hours.
  • Hygiene. If desired, it allows you to extend the last stage of your cycle and increase your temperature.
  • Vario Speed. Reduces cycle time by 34% without sacrificing quality. It operates by simultaneously rotating both rocker arms.

Important! This feature is only available on premium vehicles.

  • Half Load. To avoid wasting water, detergent, and energy on a partially loaded dishwasher, use this feature.half load PMM Bosch
  • Intensive wash zone. If you have pans and baking sheets in the lower section and glassware in the upper section, none of the existing programs will work: you'll either break the dishes or they won't be washed properly. This function will leave the basic wash cycle in the upper section and activate intensive washing in the lower section.
  • Shina & Dry. This function is designed to give glass an incredible shine. Rinse duration and rinse aid amount are increased, which is what achieves this effect.
  • Standby mode. This option allows you to add forgotten dishes to the basket if necessary. Simply open the door slightly and wait for the dishwasher to stop. To resume operation, close the door. Remember that it makes sense to add dishes only at the first stages of the cycle.

Modern Bosch models also feature a visual and audible end-of-cycle notification system. After the cycle is complete, begin unloading from the bottom rack. This will prevent drips from the top rack from ruining the appearance of the dishes below.
