The Quick 30 program in the LG washing machine
Every modern washing machine has a quick cycle. When activated, the machine will wash, rinse, and spin the item for 15-40 minutes, depending on the manufacturer. LG machines offer a "golden mean"—a 30-minute cycle. Let's explore what the "Quick 30" mode is and what items it's suitable for. We'll also look at the algorithm's advantages, disadvantages, and possible adjustments.
How does the thirty-minute algorithm work?
"Quick 30" on your LG washing machine is a faster version of a regular wash cycle. It washes, rinses, and spins an item in half an hour, with a maximum wait time of 40 minutes. Don't expect a deep clean, though: the algorithm is designed to only refresh items and remove light stains and mild odors. Trying to remove stubborn stains is useless – it’s better to choose high-temperature “Cotton”, “Intensive” or “Pre-wash”.
When the quick mode is activated, the LG washing machine sets the standard settings:
- spin – 800 rpm;
- heating temperature – 30 degrees;
- washing duration – 30 minutes.

The factory settings can be adjusted, but within the limits set by the system. The temperature is capped at 40 degrees Celsius, leaving the user with three heating options: "40," "30," and "Cold Water." The machine cannot be heated any higher—the quick cycle doesn't require the heating element to run for long. However, the spin speed can be set to any value, from 0 to 1000 rpm.
The “Quick 30” program heats the water to a maximum of 40 degrees.
The main advantage of the quick mode is speed. To save time, the drum spins continuously from the moment it starts and fills with water. The rotation is strong and sharp, and the cylinder's trajectory constantly changes, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right. This "pendulum" action allows items to be quickly soaked and washed more effectively. Another advantage is cost savings: there's no need to run a long cycle to remove small stains.
The express cycle does have its drawbacks. The main one is the average cleaning performance. Half an hour in lukewarm water doesn't have enough time to remove heavy stains. The solution is to pre-wash any stains on your hands and then run the express cycle.
Other algorithms in LG's arsenal
"Quick 30" isn't the only program available on LG washing machines. For user convenience, manufacturers have equipped their models with a range of modes designed for specific fabric types. Simply select a button, check the automatic settings, and begin your high-quality wash.
- Cotton. The hottest setting, where the water temperature can reach 95 degrees Celsius. Boiling and multi-directional drum movements remove heavy stains from dense fabrics such as cotton, linen, and calico. The wash cycle lasts approximately 105-120 minutes.
- Cotton Quick. This is a faster version of the previous program. The cycle time is reduced by limiting the heat to 60 degrees.
- Everyday wash. On some LG models, this is called "Synthetics." This cycle washes mixed items made of synthetic fibers, polyester, acrylic, and elastane. Temperature: up to 40°C, spin: 800°C, cycle time: 110 minutes.

- Silent Wash. When this program is selected, the motor runs extremely quietly, and vibration levels are reduced. This allows you to run the machine overnight for lightly soiled items.
- Baby Clothes. Designed specifically for cleaning children's clothing, this cycle includes a deep rinse and water heating to 60 degrees Celsius. This removes all stains, disinfects, and completely rinses out detergent. The cycle lasts 140 minutes.
- Delicates. An essential cycle for washing blouses, lace, tulle, and lingerie. The temperature is limited to 30 degrees Celsius, and the cycle lasts for an hour.
- Refresh. A function similar to "Quick 30." The main difference is that it doesn't wash: when activated, the steam generator turns on, producing hot, humidified air. A twenty-minute steam treatment removes light stains and smoothes fabric.
- Down Duvet. This program is designed for washing bulky items filled with down, feathers, or hollow fiber, such as pillows, down jackets, and bedspreads.
- Biocare. This function is designed to remove protein stains. It uses high heat, so it's only suitable for delicate fabrics. Duration: 15 minutes.
- Hypoallergenic washing. Heating at 60 degrees Celsius and thoroughly rinsing removes allergens such as dust, dander, and mites.
- Intensive 60. Washes for an hour at 60 degrees. The difference is reduced energy consumption.
- My Program. If necessary, the user can customize and save a custom program, selecting the most suitable cycle parameters.

Each LG washing machine model has its own set of basic and additional modes. The full list of options and their functions is detailed in the manufacturer's instructions.
