The Shirts program in the Beko washing machine

Shirt program in a Beko washing machineSome Beko automatic washing machines feature a smart algorithm that's quite popular with users. It's called "Shirts." This program washes laundry well, leaving it virtually wrinkle-free. Let's explore the basic settings of this mode and explain its special features.

Description of the shirt washing mode

Owners of Beko washing machines with a "Shirts" cycle are very lucky. This is a multifunctional program that is suitable not only for washing shirts, tops, blouses, but also for other items made from cotton, blended fabrics, and synthetics. The algorithm settings are universal:

  • temperature – 40°C;
  • duration – from one and a half to two hours (this depends on the model of the Beko washing machine);
  • maximum permissible spin speed – 800 rpm;
  • Water consumption: 40 liters (for machines with a 6 kg capacity). The figure will vary for washing machines with a smaller or larger drum capacity;
  • power consumption – 0.45 kW/h.

When starting the Shirts mode, a maximum of half a drum load is allowed.

The key feature of the "Shirts" cycle is that items are virtually wrinkle-free during washing. The drum moves smoothly, preventing wrinkles. The spin cycle is low, further preventing creasing.How the shirt program works in SM Beko

Thanks to its low temperature of just 40°C, the "Shirts" cycle can be used for both white and brightly colored laundry. It's gentle enough to handle even the most delicate fabrics. The following auxiliary functions can be added to the cycle:

  • "Soak";
  • "Quick wash";
  • "Extra rinse";
  • Water Stop.

When washing on this cycle, it's recommended to use gel detergents rather than powders. Granules don't fully dissolve in cool water and clog the fibers of the fabric. Liquid detergents provide better care.

SM Beko modes and additional features

Depending on the Beko washing machine model, the set of wash modes stored in the intelligent system will vary. However, most programs are present on all machines. Let's look at the basic algorithms.

  • Cotton. This program is ideal for cotton garments. You can select the water temperature: 40°C, 60°C, or 90°C. The cycle lasts from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the temperature selected. This mode allows for the maximum load capacity (each Beko model has its own maximum load capacity). Water consumption is up to 65 liters.
  • Cotton Eco. Suitable for washing cotton fabrics. Water temperature is adjustable from 40°C to 60°C. The cycle lasts approximately three hours. This program is significantly more energy-efficient than the standard "Cotton" algorithm. The Eco mode minimizes energy consumption. The maximum drum load allowed is determined by the model's specifications.
  • Synthetics. The drum rotates less intensively than the Cotton cycle. This program is designed for synthetic and blended items. The recommended washing temperature is 40°C or 60°C.
  • Mini. This program is designed specifically for washing small quantities of lightly soiled clothes. The temperature setting is adjustable—30°C, 60°C, or 90°C.
  • Dark Fabrics. Activated when washing dark or brightly colored clothing prone to fading. Water temperature is a maximum of 40°C, and the cycle lasts approximately two hours.
  • Wool. This delicate cycle is designed for wool garments. The drum is heated to 40°C, and the spin speed is set to minimum. When running this program, the machine can only load 1.5 kg of dry laundry (for 6 kg capacity washing machines). The cycle takes 1 hour.Beko SM program table
  • Children's. This program is designed for washing children's clothes and clothes for allergy sufferers. Water is heated to 90°C, which destroys all harmful microorganisms present in the fabric fibers. An additional rinse stage is included. The program duration is 2.5-3 hours.
  • Hand Wash. This cycle provides gentle care for your laundry. It washes in cold water (30°C). The spin cycle is set to the lowest speed, and this function can be disabled. This cycle is suitable for washing items that are suitable for hand washing only.
  • Express. The shortest cycle available on Beko washing machines, lasting between 14 and 20 minutes. Suitable for refreshing lightly soiled items. Washes in cold water.

All information about washing modes is provided in the instructions for the Beko washing machine.

What other algorithms are stored in memory? In any washing machine Beko has additional features that help you achieve better washing results. We'll tell you what options are available on automatic transmissions from this Turkish manufacturer.

  • "Soak." Activated for heavily soiled items. Before the main cycle, the laundry is soaked in the drum for 10-20 minutes.
  • "Quick Wash." This option reduces the wash time of the main cycle. It can be used with the "Cotton," "Eco," "Synthetics," and "Shirts" cycles for half-loaded laundry and lightly soiled items.
  • "Easy Iron." This feature ensures smoother drum rotation, reducing wrinkles during washing.
  • "More Water." The cycle runs with a larger volume of water. This option is useful for washing children's clothes, as well as bedspreads and blankets where pets like to rest.

Before using your Beko washing machine for the first time, read the instructions. This will help you understand its capabilities. This will allow you to select the right washing mode and enable additional features to ensure the best possible washing results.
