What programs are available to the user?

Modern dishwashers have several preset modes, each with different durations, water heating temperatures, number of rinses, and more. Each model has its own set of programs and additional features. To understand the appliance's capabilities, consult the user manual.

A full description of the washing programs is provided in the dishwasher instructions.

If you're buying a used dishwasher and have lost the user manual, you can find information online by searching for your dishwasher model. Let's look at the wash modes available on most Hotpoint-Ariston dishwashers.

  • The intensive program is designed specifically for heavily soiled cutlery, including pots, pans, and baking sheets. This mode should not be used for washing crystal, porcelain, or other delicate items. The cycle lasts 145 minutes and includes a pre-soak, main wash, rinse, and drying. The water temperature is 65°C.
  • Auto. A standard mode designed for washing normally soiled dishes. This is a regular cycle, ideal for daily use. It includes drying. The program takes 110 minutes. The water temperature reaches 55°C.
  • Pre-rinse. An additional step before the standard wash. No need to add detergent to the detergent drawer. The cycle lasts 8 minutes.
  • Eco. This program is designed for washing dishes with a moderate degree of soiling. It uses reduced energy and water consumption. The cycle includes a pre-rinse, main wash, rinse, and dry. The cycle lasts 155 minutes. The maximum water temperature is 50°C.Hotpoint Ariston's software suite may vary.
  • Quick Cycle. A short program for washing lightly soiled cutlery immediately after meals. It requires a partial load. Duration: just 25 minutes. There's no drying feature—you'll have to dry the dishes by hand after removing them. Water is heated to 45°C.
  • Crystal. An economical, gentle cycle suitable for washing delicate dishes with light soiling. Ideal for washing crystal and porcelain cutlery. Not available on all Hotpoint-Ariston models. Drying is activated at the end of the cycle. The cycle lasts for 90 minutes.
  • Short Time. This program is designed for washing normally soiled dishes and pots. The program duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Finally, the dish drying function is activated.
  • Ultra Intensive. The toughest cycle, designed specifically for washing pots, saucepans, and baking sheets with dried-on food residue. The cycle lasts 155 minutes and includes a pre-soak, main wash, rinse, and drying phases. Water is heated to 70°C.
  • Good Night. The optimal setting for running the dishwasher overnight. The dishwasher operates virtually silently and handles dirt perfectly. The cycle lasts 3.5 hours.

Although the "Eco" program lasts longer than most other modes, it still provides minimal kilowatt and water consumption. Consumption is comparable to a Quick cycle. So, there's no need to worry about the 2.5-hour cycle.

Most Hotpoint-Ariston dishwashers have the following modes: "Intensive," "Eco," "Quick," "Auto," and "Pre-Rinse." Other options are available on select models. Knowing the descriptions of washing programs allows you to accurately select the optimal settings based on the type of dishes and the degree of their contamination.

Additional Hotpoint-Ariston features

In addition to the basic washing modes, it's important to understand what additional options your Hotpoint-Ariston has. A description of these additional features is also included in the manual. We'll explain which options may be useful during operation.

Delayed start function. Depending on the Hotpoint Ariston model, you can delay the start by 1, 6, 9, or 12 hours. This option is very useful when you need to start the cycle later. For example, you can set the machine to start at 2:00 AM or 5:00 AM.

Activating this feature is easy. Here's how:

  • Press the “Start Delay” button and use it to set the desired delay time;
  • Select the desired washing mode and close the dishwasher door.additional programs of PMM Ariston

The dishwasher will then begin counting down the minutes until the cycle starts. If you need to change the delay time, press the "Delay Start" button again. To deactivate the function, press the button until the corresponding indicator light goes out.

Half Load option. It's a good idea to activate this feature when only one rack (upper or lower) is full of dirty dishes. This will save water, electricity, and detergent.

To activate this feature, press the "Half Load" button several times before selecting the main wash program. This will cause the triangle corresponding to the full basket (upper or lower) to light up. The wash will then begin.

Is it always possible to activate add-ons? The Delay Start function is compatible with any machine wash mode. Hotpoint-Ariston. The Half Load option cannot be connected to the Short Program and the Short Time, Ultra Intensive and Good Night algorithms.

Another additional option is "Multifunctional Tablets." It improves washing and drying results. The duration of the main cycle is extended after activation.

On the first program, my machine washes for 6 hours, and the time on the display never reaches zero. At 48 minutes, it's down to 1.5-2 hours.

I set the Ariston Hotpoint to a full wash cycle, but I needed to end the wash early. How do I change the cycle to before the water drains?

Hello. Why does the car wash for the entire day (more than 4 hours) on the daily wash mode? Even though the 1 hour 10 minute wash mode should be on.
