Indesit dishwasher programs
Indesit is an Italian manufacturer of household appliances, and their products are very popular in Europe, including Russia. Their appliances are quite affordable, yet still high-quality, and their dishwashers are no exception. When used correctly, Indesit dishwashers' wash cycles can clean dishes of any degree of soiling. So, it's worth familiarizing yourself with the programs carefully.
Characteristics of the main modes
The manufacturer's instructions state that the number and types of programs depend on the specific Indesit dishwasher model, and information specific to your machine can be found in the user manual. We'll cover the characteristics of all the main modes, including usage recommendations and other details.
- The "Normal" wash program. The name says it all: this mode is designed for basic daily washing. It cleans moderately soiled dishes. The program lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes. It can be used in conjunction with the drying mode. Manufacturers recommend using 21 grams or ml of powder or gel in the main detergent compartment (A) and 4 grams or ml in the pre-wash compartment (B). If you use tablets, one tablet is sufficient (compartment A).
- "Intensive" wash program. Used when dishes are heavily soiled. This mode is strictly contraindicated for delicate dishes. The program lasts 2 hours and 25 minutes and interacts with the drying programs. Detergent is added only to the main detergent compartment at a rate of 25 g/ml. If using tablets, one tablet is sufficient.
- Pre-rinse program. This program is optional. It lasts only 8 minutes and does not use detergent. It cannot be run simultaneously with the drying program. Manufacturers recommend using this mode as a standby mode for a full load of dishwashers.
- Eco mode. Some call this mode "eco-friendly," others "economical." Essentially, both are true. The program lasts a full 3 hours, but cleans all types of dishes with low energy consumption. This program can be used with drying programs. Detergent at a rate of 25 g/ml or 1 tablet is placed in compartment A.

- Express Wash. With a short 35-minute wash time, this mode uses less detergent, less water, and less energy than other modes. It's ideal for washing a small load of lightly soiled dishes immediately after meals. Recommended detergent dosage: 21 g/ml or 1 tablet in the main compartment. Recommended dish set: 2 plates, 2 glasses, 1 small saucepan, 1 small frying pan, and 4 cutlery items.
Important! To make dosing easier, remember that 1 tablespoon equals 15 g/ml of detergent, and 1 teaspoon equals 5 g/ml.
Recommendations for the operation of the Indesit dishwasher
Now that you've carefully reviewed the Indesit dishwasher program descriptions, you can begin loading and operating the dishwasher. To do so, follow these simple steps.
- Connect the machine to all utilities and provide access to water.
- Press the ON/OFF button. If the system starts successfully, all the indicators on the panel will light up for a few seconds.
- Fill the dispenser with detergent according to the instructions. Compartment A is for the main wash, compartment B is for the additional wash. If you are using tablets and the instructions call for 2, place one in compartment A and the other at the bottom of the dishwasher.
- Load the dishes into the baskets.

- Find the selector wheel labeled PROGRAM SELECTION. Turn it until the pointer on the handle points to the desired mode. Once the program is selected, the light next to the START/PAUSE button should flash.
- If you need to use additional features, select them at this stage.
- To start the cycle, press the Start button.
- When the program is complete, the END indicator will light. Don't rush to unload the dishwasher, otherwise the dishes won't have time to cool down, and you risk getting burned. First, turn off the dishwasher by pressing the ON/OFF button, turn off the water tap, and unplug the dishwasher.
Important! Some models are programmed to automatically shut off after extended periods of inactivity to save energy.
If you've made a mistake with the program, you can change it if no more than a few seconds have passed since the machine started (the dishwasher hasn't had time to remove detergent from the dispenser). Turn off the machine by holding down the ON/OFF button, then turn it on again using the same method and repeat the start-up procedure, selecting the correct mode.
Indesit machines also allow users to add more dishes to the dishwasher. To do this, interrupt the cycle by pressing the PAUSE button, carefully open the door to avoid scalding from steam, and then press the START button, and the cycle will resume. At this point, it will be impossible to change the program.
