Whirlpool dishwasher programs
The market offers a huge variety of dishwashers under various brands. If you've just bought one, congratulations! Now you'll be able to handle your household chores much more easily, and you'll have more free time. Before using the appliance, it's important to familiarize yourself with the Whirlpool dishwasher's settings and capabilities. This will allow you to select the best programs for your dishes, ensuring high-quality cleaning results.
Getting to Know the Modes
Let's look at the washing programs using the WHIRLPOOL-WSIE-2B19-C dishwasher as an example. Most models of this type will have similar programs, with only a few additional features differing. This dishwasher has the following preset programs:
- ECO 50;
- intensive wash;
- regular program;
- quick wash;
- pre-wash.
In the description of the washing program, the manufacturer indicates the average duration of the program. The time will depend on many factors, so it is impossible to say exactly how long the regime will last. Depending on the conditions (water temperature, water pressure, load balance, detergent), the calculated time will be displayed.
The Eco program lasts an average of 4 hours, heating the water to 50 degrees Celsius. This mode saves water and energy, as measured in laboratory tests according to European standards. Water consumption is 11.5 liters, and energy consumption is 0.83 kW. This mode is suitable for lightly soiled dishes.
An intensive wash cycle takes 2.5 hours with water heated to 65 degrees Celsius, allowing you to clean even the dirtiest dishes (baking sheets, pots, and pans). It uses 15 liters of water and 1.5 kW of electricity.
Please note: Whirlpool dishwashers do not include pre-treatment programs.
The normal or standard program lasts 2 hours and 25 minutes, heating the water to only 55 degrees Celsius. It's suitable for all dishes, regardless of soil level. It also uses 15 liters of water and 1.35 kW of energy.
The Quick Wash mode handles lightly soiled dishes in just 40 minutes, heating water to 50 degrees Celsius. It uses half the usual 8 liters of water and 0.9 kW of energy. This program is most often used to wash dishes without dried-on food, for example, after dinner.
Pre-wash isn't so much a program as an additional feature. Dishes are soaked in water for 10 minutes without the use of detergent. If your dishes are dry, it's best to use this feature; the additional water consumption is only 4 liters.
Tips for using Whirlpool dishwashers
A novice dishwasher user, in addition to the specific operating modes, also needs to know the basic operating recommendations. The manufacturer describes these in detail in the appliance's instructions. These include the following rules:
- remove food residue and debris from plates before placing them in baskets, pour out any remaining liquids;
- place the dishes so that they do not dangle, but are firmly fixed with holders;
- Place plates with their bottoms toward the center of the basket, and glasses and mugs upside down. Water will drain better from the surface of the items at an angle;

- check that boards, frying pans, and cookware handles do not interfere with the free rotation of the rocker arms;
- Place larger, dirtier dishes in the lower basket and smaller items in the upper basket or cutlery basket, as the lower spray arm delivers a more powerful stream of water;
- run a high temperature program without dishes at least once a month to prevent the appearance of unpleasant odors; you can add 1 teaspoon of detergent;
- wash only those glass or porcelain dishes that the manufacturer allows for dishwasher use;
Please remember that some decorative designs, aluminum and silver elements, and crystal may darken after washing.
- remove glass objects immediately after the program ends;
- Do not wash prohibited utensils in the dishwasher (wooden utensils, fragile glasses, antique utensils, copper and tin utensils, as well as utensils that have contained ash, wax or ink).
Before using your Whirlpool dishwasher, take note of the above tips and your "home helper" will delight you with flawless operation.
