Washing modes and programs in the Indesit washing machine

Indesit washing machine modesWashing machine manufacturer Indesit strives to make everything about its products as easy to understand as possible. The control panel of most machines features not just icons indicating each mode, but also the names of each mode and function. This makes it easier to select a program and remember them. Most washing machines have similar programs; let's take a closer look at them, including their duration, temperature settings, and load capacities.

Main

The manufacturer divides all washing modes/programs into standard (main) and special (additional) modes. The standard modes are found on almost all washing machine models, and include:

  • Cotton wash cycles. One of them involves washing with a pre-soak at a high temperature of 90 degrees, with the machine's maximum load capacity, lasting 2 hours and 51 minutes.. Suitable for kitchen towels, napkins. The intensive cotton wash cycle differs only in that the time is reduced due to the absence of soaking; the laundry is washed in approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. It's best suited for heavily soiled whites (tablecloths, towels, bed linens). The third cotton cycle involves washing items at 40 degrees Celsius for 2 hours and 27 minutes; this cycle is best for washing colored items;

    Please note! The washing temperature for cotton cycles on Indesit machines can be adjusted manually. For durable colored fabrics, you can set the temperature to 60 degrees.

  • Synthetic wash cycles. There are two: intensive at 60°C (140°F) for 1 hour 25 minutes, and gentle at 40°C (104°F) for 1 hour 11 minutes. The load capacity for this cycle is typically half the maximum indicated on the front panel of the machine, ranging from approximately 2.5 to 3.5 kg depending on the model.
  • Wool wash cycle. This cycle washes wool and cashmere items at 40°C for 55 minutes, with a 1-1.5 kg load, and uses a reduced spin speed.
  • Silk wash cycle. This cycle is used for washing curtains, viscose items, and underwear. The water temperature is 30°C.0, duration 55 minutes, load no more than 1-1.5 kg. There is no spin in this program.

On some washing machines, cotton cycles may be labeled as follows: prewash, normal (everyday) wash, intensive wash, and delicate wash. Each cycle also includes a water temperature setting.

Special

Additional programs, also known as special programs, are found on the latest models of washing machines. These programs are designed for washing specific types of clothing. Here's a list of them:

  • The "Jeans" program is for washing denim items at a temperature not exceeding 400C, with a load of no more than 2.5 kg and reduced spin speed.
  • Express 15 is a quick wash mode for 15 minutes, which allows you to refresh no more than 1.5 kg of laundry at a temperature of 300WITH.

    Important! Do not wash silk or wool using the Express 15 cycle.

  • Sports shoes - you can wear them with this regimen wash sneakers, sneakers made of suede and fabric. The heating temperature is only 300With a maximum of two pairs of laundry per wash cycle, the cycle takes 50 minutes.
  • Sportswear - this is a delicate wash for sportswear at a temperature of 300With a duration of 1 hour 18 minutes. The drum load of the machine in this mode is approximately 2.5 kg.

Additional functions of this brand's washing machine also include:

  1. additional and delicate rinse;
  2. spin;
  3. drain without squeezing;
  4. Eco Time – This feature will reduce washing time by optimizing water consumption. This feature is only compatible with one of the cotton and synthetic wash cycles.

How to choose a mode

Washing modes are selected using the programmable knob. Program numbers are marked around the knob, and the left side of the washing machine displays a description of these programs. On very old models there is no verbal decoding, but there is a decoding in the form of symbols that should be intuitively understandable.The picture below shows the control panel of an Indesit machine.

The column on the left, numbers 1 through 7, offers programs for washing cotton items. The next column, numbers 8 through 10, offers programs for washing synthetics. The last column (on the right) offers program number 11 for delicates.

Icons under numbers 5 and 12 are rinsing, under numbers 6 and 13 are watering clothes, 7 and 14 are temperature, under number 15 is encrypted draining.

  • easy ironing;
  • delayed start;
  • additional rinse.

The unique feature of Indesit washing machine programs is that they are all divided into two or three groups, regardless of model, and are numbered. These programs include programs for cotton, synthetics, and special modes. To choose the right program, carefully read the labels on your clothes; all the information is there. Enjoy your laundry!

    There's a typo in the "How to select a mode" section. Icons 7 and 14 are for "spin," not "temperature."

    Tell me, in the 1 hour 25 minutes or less mode, is it possible to set 90 degrees manually?

    Indesit iWUB 4105. New machine. The first wash cycle included one large and one small towel. Everything worked fine on the express wash cycle. Then I added a large duvet cover and a sheet. It ran on the same cycle for 30 minutes and didn't spin. Then I set the spin cycle to separate. The result was the same. The laundry was wet. Everything was installed correctly. Could you tell me what's wrong? The spin cycle is listed as 500 and 1000. How do I know what happens if I press the button? Will it be 500 or 1000?
