Indesit vertical washing machine washing modes

Indesit vertical washing machine washing modesBefore using a new washing machine, it's important to familiarize yourself with its programs. Most of the modes on an Indesit top-loading washing machine are familiar, as they're also found on other models, including front-loading ones. However, top-loading machines also have some unusual algorithms.

Basic algorithms

After buying a new washing machine, you'll want to try it out as soon as possible. However, there's no need to rush. First, read the operating instructions. The user manual explains how to install and connect the washing machine, describes all washing modes and available additional functions.

Understanding the specifics of each algorithm will help you achieve maximum washing results without damaging your clothes. Therefore, reading the instructions is an essential step in preparing your washing machine for use.

Indesit top-loading machines generally have the same operating modes as their front-loading counterparts. The software varies depending on the model. Let's look at the algorithms found on vertical-loading machines.

  • Cotton. A standard cycle for washing cotton fabrics. Indesit top-loaders offer several variations of this mode, varying in water temperature and cycle duration. The temperature can be adjusted from 40 to 90 degrees, which affects the machine's run time. A "Prewash" option can be added to the program. The default spin speed is the maximum (as specified by the model).
  • Cotton Eco. This program is similar to the previous one, but is more resource-efficient. Suitable for moderately soiled laundry. Water is heated to 60°C, and the default spin speed is maximum.
  • Synthetics. This cycle is designed for synthetic and blended fabrics. Water is heated to 40°C. The cycle lasts 71 minutes. Spinning is performed at maximum speed.
  • Wool. This program is for washing wool, acrylic, and cashmere items. The temperature is 40°C, and the spin cycle is at minimum speed. The cycle lasts 50 minutes.
  • Particularly delicate fabrics and clothing. This program is suitable for silk, satin, lace, and viscose. Wash in cool water, preheated to 30°C. No spinning. Program duration: 52 minutes.
  • Sports shoes. According to the instructions, the drum can hold a maximum of 2 pairs of shoes on this setting. The water is heated to 30°C, and the cycle lasts 50 minutes.Indesit vertical washing machine programs
  • Sportswear. This algorithm is launched when training clothes are loaded into the drum: leggings, tops, shorts, and suits. Temperature setting: 30°C. Duration: 63 minutes.
  • Everyday. This program is designed for quick washing of lightly soiled laundry. The cycle lasts only 30 minutes, saving time and energy. This program allows you to wash different types of fabrics together (except wool and silk). The manufacturer recommends using liquid detergent, as powder granules may not fully dissolve in cool water within a short time.
  • Jeans. Care instructions for denim clothing. Water is heated to 40°C, and the spin speed is reduced to minimum.
  • Express 15. A fast algorithm found on some vertical dryers. Allows you to refresh laundry in water heated to 30°C.
  • Mixed Laundry. This cycle is designed for garments made from blended fabrics containing both natural and synthetic fibers. The default wash temperature is 40°C, and the cycle duration is 100 minutes.
  • Coloreds. This program is designed for washing brightly colored items prone to fading. Temperature: 40°C, wash time: 95 minutes.
  • Down and feather items. Care instructions for down jackets, coats, duvets, and pillows. Water is heated to 30°C, and the drum rotates more gently to prevent clumping. Liquid detergent is recommended.

The effectiveness of washing and the safety of items will depend on how correctly the mode is selected.

You can't wash woolen items on the "Cotton" cycle. This cycle is also unsuitable for delicate fabrics, as they will be damaged. Therefore, read the care labels, sort your clothes, and select the optimal washing settings for each batch.

Auxiliary functions

In addition to the basic washing modes, Indesit vertical washers have additional options built into their intelligence. Auxiliary functions allow you to achieve the desired cleanliness of laundry and improve the quality of washing. To run the algorithm, you need to:

  • press the button of the desired function;
  • Wait until the indicator corresponding to the option turns on – this will confirm that the add-on is activated.

Frequent blinking of the indicator will notify you that this additional function cannot be connected to the selected mode.

What auxiliary functions are we talking about?

  • Delay Timer. You can delay the start of a cycle for a specified time (from 1 to 24 hours). This option is compatible with all Indesit washing machine modes.
  • Stain Removal. An additional bleach cycle to combat the most stubborn stains. This feature is only compatible with the Cotton and Synthetics cycles, but can also be added to the Rinse cycle.Indesit top-loading washing machine panel
  • Easy Iron. This option reduces creasing in fabrics to make ironing easier. The drum rotates more smoothly, preventing creasing. This feature is compatible with all ironing modes except the fast ones.
  • Extra Rinse. This option increases rinsing efficiency and ensures complete removal of detergent residue from fabric fibers. It is recommended to use this feature when the washing machine is fully loaded and using a large amount of detergent.
  • Pre-wash. This step is similar to soaking. This function is activated when washing heavily soiled, durable items.

Please note that enabling additional options in the main mode will increase the cycle time. The user manual details which indicators indicate the activation of each function.

Selecting a mode and starting the wash

Users who previously owned a front-loading washing machine may experience difficulties when first starting up a top-loading machine. However, there's nothing complicated about using these machines—everything is performed in the same way.

First, sort your laundry and decide which washing algorithm is best for your items. Also, consider whether you'll need any additional options. Next:

  • open the lid of the machine and load the items into the drum;
  • Add detergent and, if necessary, bleach or fabric softener to the dispenser;
  • close the drum flaps, press the top panel of the washing machine firmly;
  • plug the washing machine into the power supply;We wash in an Indesit top-loading washing machine
  • press the network button;
  • Use the programmer to select the desired washing mode;
  • adjust cycle settings (temperature, spin) if necessary;
  • connect auxiliary functions;
  • Activate the cycle with the "Start" button.

When the top washer finishes washing, the "On/Door Locked" indicator will light. This means you can open the lid and remove items from the drum. Afterward, turn off the washer by pressing the appropriate button and leave it partially open for ventilation.
