Ardo top-loading washing machine programs
For aesthetics and convenience, companies try to avoid overloading the washing machine's control panel with long labels describing cycles and special modes. Instead, manufacturers place special icons or abbreviated names on the body of their "home helper," which can be difficult to understand without detailed instructions at hand.
While the basic wash cycles of an Ardo top-loading washing machine are fairly easy to memorize, secondary options that you might only need once a month or less are much harder to remember. We'll take a detailed look at all the cycles of modern Ardo washing machines, so you can begin understanding them even without a user manual.
Main algorithms
First of all, let's study the main programs that are usually needed, if not every day, then at least once a week. The list will be in Russian right away, so you don't have to translate the function first and then describe it. There are quite a lot of algorithms.
- Cotton. This classic cycle is easy to find—it's indicated on the dashboard by a cotton bin icon. It's suitable for everyday washing of cotton items that can withstand high water temperatures of 60 to 90 degrees Celsius. The cycle lasts between 145 and 170 minutes, so it's important that the garments can withstand this long wash cycle without becoming misshapen.
- Synthetics. Another standard cycle, this time for items made from various synthetic materials. It appears on the control panel as a flask icon. Mixed fabrics are washed for 127 minutes.
- Express 20. A special short cycle designed to simply refresh lightly soiled clothes at a relatively low temperature of 35°C. Duration: just 20 minutes.
The indicated cycle times are not exact, but approximate, since in addition to the initial data, they also depend on the user's settings.
- Wool. Another function for a specific type of fabric. It appears on the control panel as a symbol with a ball of thread. This cycle has been certified by Woolwark, which means the machine is extremely gentle on woolen items, preventing deformation and damage. The cycle duration is fixed at 56 minutes.
- Hand wash. Another gentle care program, this time for delicate garments marked "hand wash only" on the tag. On the control panel this cycle is marked with a symbol of a hand lowered into a basin. The duration is 100 minutes, and the water temperature is only 30 degrees Celsius.
- Quick wash. This option is recommended for lightly soiled mixed fabrics. The wash duration is 35 minutes and the temperature is 35 degrees Celsius.

- Daily wash. Identified on the control panel by a T-shirt icon. Suitable for everyday washing, when you need to quickly clean a small amount of clothes using minimal water and electricity. Heats at 40 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- Sportswear. The cycle runs at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which allows for the correct shape of sportswear and shoes. After the cycle, sportswear and casual clothing do not need to be ironed.
- Jeans. This function cleans denim items without fading. The cycle lasts 70 minutes.
- Shirts. A dedicated cycle for shirts at 40 degrees Celsius, which uses an increased amount of water in the drum and a reduced spin speed to prevent creasing. This makes shirts easier to iron after washing.
- Hygiene. A special program for hygienic cleaning using the "Hygienic" technology from Ardo. Water is heated to 40 degrees Celsius and is suitable for cleaning synthetic clothing, as well as white and colored items.
- Spin. A separate cycle for starting the spin cycle, necessary in situations where the initial spin is insufficient.
If necessary, the spin cycle can be switched off, for example, to avoid damaging delicate items.
It's unlikely you'll be able to memorize all the basic cycles right away, as there are so many of them. But this is actually a plus, as they can be used to wash almost all the laundry in the house.
Auxiliary modes
Finally, we only need to discuss the additional functions that aren't available on every washing machine. Most of the programs listed can be run as an addition to the main cycle, but some can also function as a separate cycle. What algorithms are we talking about?
- Extra Rinse. This feature allows you to more effectively remove detergent residue from clothing fibers.
- Delayed Start. This option allows you to delay the start of your wash cycle by several hours, up to 16 hours. This is ideal for situations where you need to wash your clothes before waking up in the morning, so you can hang them out in the morning, or if you need your clothes clean before you return home from work.

- Turbo Pre-Wash. This program cleans heavily soiled clothes using an additional wash cycle, which complements the main wash cycle. It runs at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
- Automatic cleaning. A special short cycle for removing mold and mildew that can build up over time on the rubber door seal and in other hard-to-reach areas.
- Easy Ironing. Activating this function activates a gentle spin cycle at just 500 rpm. A low spin and gentle drum vibrations make it easier to iron items after washing.
- Drying. Typically activated automatically after selecting the "Cotton" or "Synthetics" program, but can also be started manually. Allows you to dry your clothes thoroughly.
You can live without these programs, so don't worry if your "home helper" doesn't have them. But if your appliance does have these features, don't forget to use them to make your laundry easier and significantly better.
