How to reset a Bosch washing machine error

reset error on SM BoschThe self-diagnostic system of various Bosch washing machines has one peculiarity. If the program detects a malfunction and displays an error code, it's impossible to clear the error from the display, even after repairing the washing machine.

First, you need to fix the problem, then, following a specific procedure, reset the error on your Bosch washing machine. Only then will the washing machine start normally and be usable. We'll explain how to reset it in this article.

Resetting the Bosch Classixx series washing machines

Let's start with the Bosch Classixx series washing machines. The reset procedure we'll describe now applies to the Bosch Classixx 5, Classixx 4, and Classixx 3 models. So, to reset the error that's been bothering you for a while, follow these simple steps:

  1. Press the “power/start” button and hold it down.
  2. Turn the selector from the "off" position two positions to the left (two clicks). Continue holding the "on/start" button.
  3. Wait 2 seconds and release the “power/start” button.
  4. The display should show the duration of the washing program on which the selector is currently set. On machines without a display, all indicators should flash.

Classixx series washing machines are quite finicky. The error may reset on the first try, or it may not even occur on the fourth try. Repeat the above steps repeatedly until the reset finally works.

Resetting the Bosch Maxx 5 series

Bosch Maxx 5 washing machines reset their errors in a completely different way. These machines are divided into two main groups: those with displays and those without. The error code reset process is the same for both models. So, set the program selector switch to the "off" position.

All manipulations must be performed while the machine is turned on and the error code has been triggered. A triggered error code on a machine without a display is indicated by the indicator lights flashing in unison.

resetting the error on the washing machineNext, set the selector dial to the "Spin" position. If it was set to "Off" at 12 o'clock, now set it to 6 o'clock. Now press and hold the "Drum Speed" button. Continue holding the "Drum Speed" button and turn the selector dial to the "Drain" position (7 o'clock). Then, count down 3 seconds and release the "Drum Speed" button. Immediately turn the selector dial to the "Super Quick 15" position (4 o'clock). Wait 2 seconds, then turn the program selector dial counterclockwise to the "Off" position.

After this, the error should be cleared. If the error goes away, you'll notice it because the washing programs will start sequentially, andBosch washing machine It will start any wash cycle without any problem. If the reset doesn't work, you'll need to repeat the steps until it works.

Resetting Logixx 8 series machines

The error reset scheme for the Bosch Logixx 8 washing machine is no less mysterious. Frankly, I can't understand what the developers were thinking when they implemented such a strange algorithm. Why did they need it? We'll forward this question to the German developers, and then we'll move on to a description of how to reset the error code on the Bosch Logixx 8 washing machine. So, here's how to proceed.

  1. We turn on the machine.
  2. We move the program selection knob to the “Spin” position.
  3. Wait for about two seconds until you hear a characteristic beep and an error message flashes on the display.
  4. We find a button near the display with an arrow pointing to the left, hold it down and count for 4 seconds.
  5. Next, quickly turn the program selection knob to the left by 1 notch (to the drain position).
  6. Next, release the “Arrow” button and move the program selector to the “off” position.

After completing the above steps, the error will be cleared, and you can start washing after turning the washing machine back on. Keep in mind that the error will inevitably return if you simply reset it without fixing the underlying issue. This type of reset should only be performed after a thorough repair, otherwise a serious system failure may occur, which could lead to further problems.

Thank you! Resetting the Bosch Sportline 8 error helped. The drum was locked and the machine was stuck in the "no" state. After resetting, the door unlocked. However, the drum doesn't spin, and resetting it again only forces water to flow, but doesn't turn the motor.

There's a problem with the bearings or motor. Call a mechanic.

Bosch WLF 16170 CE classixx 5 without display. The rinse indicator light is flashing and unresponsive. The above solution didn't help, but this worked: set the selector to "0," hold down "Start," rotate the selector counterclockwise one click while holding "Start," and then release "Start" after 2 seconds. All indicators will flash, resetting the system.

Bosch Maxx 5. When washing (for example, on the quick cycle), the time on the display increases after it starts. When it reaches 24, it stops. I manually set it to rinse, and it rinses normally. What's wrong? There are no errors on the display.

I have a Bosch Avantix 7 Vario Perfect washing machine. When I got home, there was water on the floor and the sink was full. The door was locked, and I drained the hose downstairs, which unlocked the door. Then I tried to turn the machine on, but all the programs were messed up. For example, the spin cycle was 22 minutes, but now it's 19 minutes, and other programs were messed up, too—a 5-minute difference. The machine won't start; the power indicator keeps flashing, and the iron is activated. After two hours, I tried to turn it on again, and now the machine started flashing on the display, switching programs—it wants to return to the normal 2:45 wash cycle. Then it resets to 2:44 and keeps flashing back and forth on the display. What should I do? Please help?

I have a 3D washing machine, series 6. I accidentally left it there with my robe on, and the display showed "locked." I looked it up online and pulled some thing underneath to open the door. But the lock still stays on, it won't turn off. I tried resetting it, but it didn't work. What should I do? Please help.
