How many bearings are in a Zanussi washing machine?

How many bearings are in a Zanussi washing machine?Repairing a washing machine's bearing assembly is a complex task, but even a novice can handle it. The key is to figure out in advance how many bearings are installed in your Zanussi machine's drum and what diameter they are. This will ensure that purchasing and replacing parts goes smoothly, and you won't have to make multiple trips to the store searching for the right parts.

Number of bearings

Zanussi washing machines are equipped with one or two bearings. The number of bearing races and their type depend on the year of manufacture and model. For example, machines manufactured in the early 2000s are equipped with a powerful double-row SKF BA2B mono bearing. The size of the bearing races varies, but the fundamental principle remains the same: these parts are of legendary quality and can provide trouble-free service for 15-20 years.

Zanussi washing machines have one or two bearings, depending on the specific model and year of manufacture.

Modern Zanussi models no longer use single bearings due to cost savings. Instead, they use two weaker bearing races: one larger outer race and one smaller inner race. Their diameter and thickness vary greatly: pairs with serial numbers 6203-6206 are most suitable for this brand. Unlike double-row components, they deteriorate faster, withstand lower loads and last on average 3-5 years.6203-6206 bearings for Zanussi

What components does the manufacturer use?

The most reliable way to determine the number and type of bearings is to disassemble the washing machine and remove the components from the spider. Bearing information is also included in the washing machine's manufacturer's manual. You can also confirm the machine's equipment by consulting with a service center or home appliance store, providing the specialist with the serial number of your Zanussi washing machine.

When selecting a bearing and seal, you can refer to the list of standard components for various Zanussi models. The most popular brands and the parts included with them are listed here.

  • Zanussi Aquacycle 800, 900, and 1000 series. Bearings marked 6204 and 6205 are required, and the seal must be 30x52x10. Similar rings and rubber seals are used to repair the unit on the Zanussi FA 1032-1 washing machine.
  • Zanussi F 505, FA 622. Fits 6203 clamps with a rubber seal 22x40x8/11.5.
  • Most washing machines in the FA (823-1 to 1023-1), FAE (1025E1, 825V), FCS (800C, 872C), FE (802, 804), FLS (876C, 1083), FV (832), WD (832 C), WDS (1002C) series, and almost all ZWD and ZWS models are equipped with standard 6204 and 6205 bearings, which are supplemented by 30x52x10/12 seals. They are the easiest to repair, as spare parts are readily available and inexpensive.Zanussi mono-bearing
  • Automatic machines with serial numbers FA 821, FLS (522 CN, 702, 772 C, 802, 812 C, 822, and 872 C). Replacement parts require 6204 and 6304 sizes, with the rubber seal measuring 25x52x8/11.5.
  • Zanussi FL 12 INPUT and WD-15 washing machines. These models are equipped with the most powerful and largest paired bearings, marked 6306 and 6307. The seals are also proportionate – no less than 40.2×80/95×10/15.
  • Washing machines of the FL 1200 and SLS 1276 brands. The bearings used are the same – 6206 and 6207. However, the seals are slightly different: the SLS 1276 requires 40.2x72/80x8/13.5, while the FL 1200 requires a seal thickness of 10.

Most Zanussi washing machines are equipped with two bearings, numbers 6204 and 6205.

  • Zanussi FL 1201. This model is equipped with a special kit: bearings with numbers 6205, 6206, and seals measuring 35x62x10.
  • Machines of the FL 726 CN, ZWO 384 and ZWO 3104 seriesThey feature a wear-resistant and durable bearing assembly, as the crosspiece houses powerful double-row SKF BA2B 306037 mono-bearings. As for the seal, you need seals with a thickness of 10 mm, an outer diameter of 40 and an inner diameter of 60.
  • Zanussi FL 904 NN. Another non-standard washing machine, repairs to which require smaller ferrules – 6203 and 6204. A rubber seal of the same size is required: 25×50.5×10.for vertical Zanussi
  • Machine FL 984 CN. Requires a double mono bearing SKF BA2B 306037, and an oil seal with a thickness of 8/10 and a diameter of 40x60.
  • Models 522 C and 574 C of the FLS series. Suitable for rings marked 6203 and seals with dimensions 22x40x8/11.5.
  • Zanussi FLS 622 C. To repair the bearing assembly, 6203 and 6205 races and a seal with diameters of 30 and 52 are purchased.
  • FLS 874 CN and FLV 954 NN washing machines. Manufactured in the early 2000s, they are equipped with one double-row BA2B 306037 bearing. A 40x60, 8/9-thick gasket is placed on top.

Double mono bearings BA2B 306037 are installed on Zanussi FL-726-CN, FL-984-CN, FLS-874-CN, FLV-954-NN, ZWO-3104 and 384.

Please note that this list is for reference only, as the manufacturer may change the values on a case-by-case basis. It's best to use the serial number of your washing machine as a reference, carefully read the instructions, or remove the old bearings and select a replacement bearing based on the sample.

Experienced technicians don't recommend buying replacement bearings and seals in advance. It's cheaper and more reliable to first disassemble the washing machine, remove the damaged parts, and inspect them carefully. The markings are stamped on the outer ring and are easily read with the naked eye. This way, you can be on the safe side and be sure of exactly how many parts and what size are installed in the machine.

Well done. He showed and explained it well, but he didn't mention the bearing's markings or dimensions (BA2B? No? A+++). I have the same machine. It's been working flawlessly for 25 years, but now it's started making a loud humming noise during the spin cycle... maybe it's the bearing.
