How to drain water from an LG washing machine?
Sometimes, an LG washing machine stops mid-cycle. This problem is compounded by the fact that restarting and other attempts have no effect. Naturally, the first thing that worries users in this situation is how to get the laundry out, as the door stubbornly refuses to open. In reality, in this situation, simply draining the water from the LG washing machine is essential.
Special method from the manufacturer
Washing machine manufacturers have carefully thought through everything and included a special feature that allows you to easily drain water from the drum in the event of an accident. This feature is even mentioned in the instructions. It's called a drain hose. It's located at the bottom of the washing machine, in the front right corner. If you open the door and look for the filter, it is easy to find the end of the hose, covered with a special pimpa. Take hold of the hose and pull it out to the maximum, place an empty, large container underneath it and open the plug.
If the container runs out of space, temporarily reattach the plug to the hose and drain the liquid. Then replace the container and continue the process. Repeat this process until there is no more water left in the drum.
This method is considered proven and recommended, as it was developed by specialists. However, remember that the snail must be unclogged; otherwise, even after unclogging the hose, the water will not escape.
Trash filter
The drain pump in LG washing machines is reliably protected by a special filter that prevents small particles from entering the machine. The filter is located next to the drain hose at the front bottom of the washing machine. This part also allows you to empty the drum in case of an emergency.
- Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
- Stock up on plenty of rags and cloths and place them in a pile next to the washing machine.
- Tilt the machine forward and support it from behind with a block to ensure it is stable.
- Take some rags and place them around the drain filter.
- Open the filter cap slightly to allow water to flow out. Once the rags have absorbed as much water as possible, reinsert the cap and wring out the rags. Continue this process until the drum is completely empty.

It's worth noting that this method requires a fair amount of time and effort, but it's equally reliable and rarely causes side effects. The key is to proceed carefully and ensure the washing machine is stable when tilted.
If there is little water inside
If you can open the door without any problem, draining the water is easy—just scoop it out by hand. There's a slightly different approach. This might be quicker, but it does require some physical effort. Simply open the washing machine door, place a basin or pan underneath, and then tilt the machine forward.
If none of the methods work and you just can't open the machine, there's another option: try to pick the lock on the hatch door. To do this, grab some wire or thin cord. Thread it through the space between the frame and the door and hook it under the locking mechanism. After this, the hatch should open.
Method involving disassembling the machine
As a last resort, try removing the back panel of the washing machine. Place a container or a rag under the hose. Remove the pump and hose connector. Then disconnect the hose and wait for the water to completely drain from the hatch. You may need to clean the hole first.
If your washing machine breaks down, it's best to consult a specialist. It's best not to disassemble the unit if the warranty period hasn't yet expired. Find the warranty card and call the service center.
