The Atlant washing machine does not fill with water.
It's easy to tell if your Atlant washing machine isn't filling with water: the machine will select the selected mode, lock the door, beep, and then go silent. The drum will remain empty, and the cycle will be interrupted. This clearly indicates that the wash cycle has ended before it even began. Several issues can prevent the drum from filling, ranging from an improperly connected inlet hose to a faulty pump or control board. In any case, diagnostics and repairs will be necessary.
What broke on the machine?
You can't wash clothes without water, so it's important to fix the problem as soon as possible. However, it is not always a matter of a specific breakdown; for example, the problem is often a disconnection of the central water supply. The second “non-repairable” malfunction is an unlocked door, since when the drum is open, the door lock does not work and the wash does not start.
If there's water in the pipes and the door is tightly closed, a comprehensive diagnosis is essential. First, we try to determine the nature of the problem. Several faults can cause the kit to fail.
- A broken inlet valve. The first "symptom" of this problem is difficulty flushing detergent from the detergent drawer. If the detergent has remained undissolved in the drawer for a long time, the inevitable has occurred, and the appliance has broken down completely. However, it's best to test this: connect to the power outlet and apply 220 volts to the valve. A working appliance will short-circuit and click, while a faulty one will not respond to the power supply.
- Clogged filter mesh. The water in your tap is hard and dirty, and most of the foreign matter and debris settles on the filter mesh located at the entrance to the machine. When the filter is clogged, the Atlant hums for a long time, trying to fill the drum, but nothing happens.
- The coarse filter is overfilled. The secondary filter, built into the water supply system, is often affected as well. It bears the brunt of the dirty water, often becoming clogged and blocking the flow of water into the washing machine.
If the water collection time is exceeded, the Atlant self-diagnostic system will display the error code “F17” or “E17” on the display.
- A faulty pressure switch. The most common cause of problems with the filling is a faulty water level sensor. It stops monitoring the water level, the module detects the problem, and, fearing an underfill or overfill, stops the cycle. Checking the unit's functionality is easy: remove the top cover of the washing machine, locate the pressure switch, unhook the tube leading into the drum, and blow through it. If you hear a few clicks, everything is fine. Otherwise, you'll need to clean or replace the unit.

- Problems with the pressure switch hose. With prolonged use, the hose becomes damaged and loses its initial seal, which negatively impacts the sensor's performance.
- A pinched hose. The inlet hose may be pinched by the housing, blocking the water's path to the drum.
- A non-functioning pump. Before a new wash cycle, some of the remaining water in the drum is automatically drained. If the pump is broken, the machine won't drain, and the circuit board will delay refilling the drum.
- A faulty circuit board. The electronic unit is the "brains" of the washing machine, controlling all internal processes. If there's a problem with the board, the machine won't respond to user commands, specifically, it won't fill with water.
Owners of modern cars have it easier: the self-diagnostic system should automatically detect the problem and display an error code. All that's left to do is decipher the code using the instructions. In any case, it's important not only to determine the nature of the problem but also to understand what to do next. More on that below.
Check the warranty
If a brand-new machine isn't filling, it's best not to rush into troubleshooting. All Atlant washing machines come with a 12-month warranty, so don't miss out on a free professional repair. Keep in mind that opening the case yourself automatically voids your warranty coverage.
Atlant washing machines are covered by a free one-year warranty.
Owners of washing machines manufactured before 2019 don't need to worry about the warranty. In this case, it's worth trying to resolve the issue yourself rather than overpaying a service center employee. However, before any manipulations, it is necessary to study the manufacturer's instructions, understand the device of the machine and remember safety precautions.
How are we going to find the problem?
If you decide to fix the water supply yourself, you need to prepare. First, disconnect the washing machine from all utilities, then begin a sequential check, moving from simple to complex. The diagnostics begin with the basics:
- we make sure that there is water in the house (we open the tap in the bathroom or in the kitchen);
- we check that the valve on the water supply is open;
- We drain the water from the inlet hose and then inspect the sleeve for damage, pinching, and blockages.

If everything is in order, we continue the diagnostics by inspecting the filter mesh. This is the round attachment installed in the inlet hose. If clogged, the mesh will block water flow, so the filter should be cleaned.
- Disconnect the inlet hose from the washing machine.
- We are looking for a mesh.
- We take hold of the protruding part of the mesh with pliers and pull out the filter.
- We thoroughly rinse the mesh under water, and in case of severe blockages, we clean it with a toothbrush.
- We return the grid to its original place.
When disconnecting the inlet hose, be careful - there will always be some "old" water left in the hose, which could spill onto the floor.
Often, the machine won't fill if the coarse filter is clogged. This attachment is located immediately after the faucet, so you'll need to unscrew a couple of components using wrenches. Another complication is that when you loosen the retaining nut, water will gush out of the pipe. There's no need to clean the filter separately—the high pressure will flush out all the debris and dirt.
Is the valve to blame for everything?
In the vast majority of cases, a broken intake valve causes problems with the kit. This component cannot be repaired, so the faulty one must be removed and a new one installed. A service center will charge at least $30–$40 for this work, while a home replacement will cost a maximum of $5. You won't have to skimp on the quality of the part—the original part is easily within this price range.
The replacement process is simple, so even a beginner can handle it quickly and easily. Just follow the instructions.
- Turn off the power to the washing machine.
- Turn off the water supply tap.
- Disconnect the inlet hose from the body, having first drained the water from it.
- Remove the top cover by unscrewing the retaining fasteners.
- Find the valve and take a photo of the wires and pipes connected to it (to avoid mistakes during reassembly).
- Disconnect the wires and hoses from the contacts.
- Loosen the retaining bolt.
- Remove the valve from the washing machine.
- Insert a new device in its place.
- Secure the device with a bolt, connect the hoses and wires.
- Replace the cap and inlet hose.
When selecting a replacement valve, you need to refer to the serial number of the Atlant washing machine.
After replacing the inlet valve, connect the machine to the power supply and water supply. Next, select any quick wash and run a "blank" cycle. If water flows into the detergent drawer and tank, the repair has been completed successfully. We also evaluate the reliability of the connection of the inlet hose separately: there should be no drips or leaks at the joint. If the situation repeats, you must contact the service center.
The machine won't wash without water, so if you're having trouble with the filling, you need to take action. By checking all the machine's weak points, you'll quickly find the problem, and the instructions below will help you fix it.
