Gorenje Countryside Washing Machine Review

Gorenje Countryside Washing Machine ReviewA few brands produce washing machines for rural areas, and Gorenje is one of them. These machines can operate without a water supply or sewer line—they're designed with special reservoirs. If installing an electric pumping station and connecting the house to a water pump isn't feasible, a standalone unit can make life easier. All that's left to do is evaluate their functionality and explore the manufacturer's top-of-the-line models.

What is special about such machines?

A regular washing machine won't do for rural areas; you need a washing machine with a tank. Unlike standard equipment, it does not require connection to a water supply. Instead of a water inlet hose, there's a reservoir that the user fills as needed. It seems like a cost-saving solution. Instead of a specially equipped machine, you can buy a regular one and simply connect the inlet hose to the water reservoir. But it's not that simple: when setting up an automatic water supply yourself, you need to integrate several additional devices into the washing machine's system:These machines have a water tank.

  • pressure booster;
  • sensors that monitor the water level in the tank.

Washing machines for rural areas are distinguished by the presence of a tank connected to the machine by a hose with a pressure booster.

Installing and connecting these sensors yourself is very difficult—only experienced professionals can do it. For ordinary users, it's easier and safer to purchase a ready-to-use machine for rural areas. Gorenje washing machines allow you to wash clothes even in conditions devoid of the comforts of civilization.

The pros and cons of this type of technology

Thanks to a specially designed tank, Gorenje washing machines are self-powered. Their main advantage is the ability to operate without problems even without a central water supply or pumping station. This allows for a simple, low-cost solution when installing a conventional washing machine is not feasible. Machines with a tank also have several other advantages:

  • When central water supply appears, the washing machine can easily be “converted” to a standard version;
  • the volume of the provided tank is designed for at least 2 cycles, so there is no need to constantly add water;
  • Some Gorenje models are equipped with a water level sensor, which allows the machine to monitor the level of water in the tank and warn the user if there is insufficient liquid;
  • washing machines are distinguished by their economical consumption of water and electricity;
  • There is no need to organize a full-fledged sewer system; the waste liquid can be easily drained into a basin or other container.the machine takes up a lot of space

The main drawback of tank-equipped washing machines is their size. These units aren't particularly compact; in fact, a single machine is often the size of a closet. Firstly, the machine itself is slightly larger than a standard one. Secondly, the tank is connected to the right. Thirdly, a wastewater collection container is installed nearby.

Washing machines with a tank are not always equipped with a pump; more often than not, the tank is filled with water only manually!

The second drawback is that almost all Gorenje models lack a pump to fill the tank with water. Often, you have to fill the tank manually before washing, which is quite a hassle. Despite its shortcomings, a Gorenje machine equipped with this system allows you to wash even in "spartan" conditions. These machines are often installed in summer cottages to avoid losing the comforts of the city during summer vacations. These installations are also relevant for private homes that are not connected to central utilities due to remoteness or other issues. The main thing is that the room has access to electricity and sufficient space to accommodate the equipment.

Models of cars with a tank

Gorenje's selection of washing machines with a tub is quite limited—demand is low, so supply is limited. However, it's virtually impossible to find similar machines from other brands on the market. Typically, there are three models to choose from.

  1. The W72ZX1/R is a budget-friendly washing machine with a capacity of up to 7 kg. The tank capacity is sufficient for two cycles, or 56 liters per wash. It lacks a screen or child lock, but its functionality is comparable to most washing machines, with a standard set of programs, including a smart program. The maximum spin speed is up to 600 rpm. Its average performance and power make it less expensive than its competitors.
  2. This is an improved version of the W72ZX1/R. Notable differences include a larger water tank and a more powerful motor. This model's drum accelerates to 800 rpm during the spin cycle.Gorenje W72ZX1R
  3. This model is more expensive, but it features a stylish design and a larger drum. Its energy efficiency is another advantage: the washing machine uses low energy consumption and approximately 45 liters of water per standard cycle. The drum is rated for a maximum load of 6 kg, but it reaches 1000 RPM during the spin cycle. There is no display. There are 15 programs, including both basic and unique Gorenje programs.

The cost of machines with a Gorenje tank varies between $300 and $500.

Despite reduced water consumption, washing machines with a tub wash excellently. This has been confirmed by numerous tests and experiments. The key is to choose the right cycle and use high-quality detergents.

How to choose a similar machine?

Currently, only Gorenje supplies freestanding washing machines with tanks to Russian stores. Naturally, you'll have to choose from the manufacturer's selection, accepting some of the brand's shortcomings. However, even here, you can find the most functional and economical model. Here are some expert recommendations to help you make your purchase decision:

  • look at the energy consumption class - some machines "eat" much less electricity;
  • Don't be afraid to pay extra for economical resource consumption and a larger tank capacity (such a capacity will have to be filled less often);
  • evaluate the dimensions of the machine (it must fit in the allocated room);
  • Some models with a tank have a “Child Protection” function (if necessary, choose washing machines with a dashboard lock);choosing a machine with a tank
  • Give preference to a washing machine with a filter attachment if the quality and purity of the available water leaves much to be desired.

Before purchasing a machine, evaluate its functionality, efficiency, and dimensions.

Before purchasing, it's recommended to review customer reviews of Gorenje washing machines. Each model has its drawbacks, but overall, the quality of the machines is relatively high. Many users complain about increased noise, but this claim is unfounded: the manufacturer did not claim a low noise level. Washing machines with a tank allow you to set up machine washing anywhere. The key is to find sufficient space and choose a model with the appropriate features.

    We bought it before we had running water. We still use it with running water and don't want to replace it—the water in the tank settles, and there's a lot of iron in the water. A huge plus! And we have plenty of space.
