My Hansa washing machine doesn't spin.

My Hansa washing machine doesn't spin.Unfortunately, no household appliance is immune to breakdowns. For example, a washing machine that was working perfectly just yesterday may stop working today, displaying an unidentifiable error code. Let's figure out what to do if your Hansa washing machine isn't spinning, what might be causing the problem, and how to get it back up and running again.

A program with special settings

If you open your washing machine's drum and find wet laundry inside, don't immediately disassemble the machine to check for a malfunction or call a service center. It's possible there's no malfunction at all. Some special washing programs do not include spinning at all, so check if one of these modes has been started. Typically, Hansa washing machines automatically turn off the spin cycle when the following washing programs are started:chose the wrong programs on Hansa

  • "Wool";
  • "Silk";
  • "Berezhnaya".

Check your appliance's manual for a brief description of each washing mode. If the program you're running truly doesn't include spinning, simply enable the option separately. Even when running a standard wash cycle, which always includes spinning, this function can be accidentally disabled. Make sure this isn't the case in your situation.

Rearrange the items in the drum

Spinning often fails due to overloading the washing machine or improperly distributing the items inside the drum. Some modern Hansa models are equipped with an automatic weighing sensor; these machines will not even start washing if the maximum load weight is exceeded. Machines without this sensor may start washing and rinse the items, but afterward, the overload will still affect the machine's operation:things got lumped together and created an imbalance

  • The washing machine will attempt to spin the drum, but due to the heavy load, it will be unable to do so. The machine will pause.
  • The items will become bunched up into a tight ball, the imbalance control system will be activated, the cycle will stop, and the clothes will remain wet.

If you suspect overloading, you should quickly remove some items from the drum and continue washing.

In this case, no repairs are necessary. Simply separate the items into two batches and wash them separately. It's important to straighten the laundry in the drum and distribute it evenly to avoid creating a tight, heavy "clump" of clothes.

Dirty water does not drain from the tank

It's possible that your laundry remains wet after washing because the water isn't draining completely. This usually occurs when the drainage system is clogged. If you suspect this is the reason your washing machine isn't spinning, try the following:

  • de-energize the Hansa washing machine;
  • Cover the floor around the washing machine with dry rags;
  • Place a low container under the machine body, in the area where the dust filter is located;
  • unscrew the drain filter and collect the flowing water in a basin;drain the washing machine for safety
  • Inspect the element and shine a flashlight into the hole created by its removal. Once you find the stuck object, remove it from the vehicle.Let's take a close look at the impeller
  • clean the debris filter and screw it back in place;
  • inspect the drain hose, feel the corrugated pipe for blockages;check the hose for blockages
  • tilt the washing machine towards the wall and check if the drain pipe (connecting the pump to the tank) is clogged;
  • Once you have identified a blockage, remove it;
  • Put all the parts back in place and check the functionality of the washing machine.

If the filters and pipes are clean and water still isn't draining, listen to the pump. It should hum. If there's no sound, the pump is likely faulty and will need to be replaced.

Engine speed control element

Every automatic washing machine is equipped with a tachogenerator—a special sensor that regulates the motor's speed. This element is located directly on the motor rotor.

If the Hall sensor is faulty, the "brain" will not be able to determine the rotation speed of the drum, so the spin will be either insufficient or absent altogether.

Typically, tachogenerator failure is caused by systematic overloading of the washing machine. That's why you should load the drum with exactly the amount of laundry recommended in the instructions. It happens that due to increased vibration of the housing, the contacts of the Hall sensor come loose or its fastenings become loose. In this situation, you can adjust the wiring and tighten the clamps yourself. The problem will be solved.The engine tachometer needs to be checked.

To inspect and adjust the tachogenerator, you'll need to remove the motor from the housing. Then, check and, if necessary, clean the sensor contacts and tighten its fasteners. The sensor itself may be faulty. You can check this with a multimeter. If the fault is confirmed, you'll need to purchase and install a new tachogenerator.

All attention to the engine

Another common reason why a Hansa washing machine won't spin is worn-out brushes in the commutator motor. When this happens, the motor can't accelerate the drum to the required speed, leaving clothes wet. To inspect the brushes, you'll need to remove the motor. To do this:

  • de-energize the machine;
  • remove the back panel of the case;
  • remove the drive belt from the drum pulley and engine;
  • unscrew the bolts holding the engine in the housing;
  • pull out the motor.We find the engine and tachometer

The brushes are located on the sides of the commutator. Remove the carbon rods and check for wear. If they are significantly worn, the parts will need to be replaced.

It is important to change the electric brushes in pairs, even if one of them is intact.

It's also worth checking the motor's stator and rotor windings with a multimeter. If signs of a breakdown or short circuit are detected, the electric motor will need to be replaced.

More difficult situations

Sometimes the problem can be more serious. If you've confirmed that the problem isn't the selected mode, an imbalance, a clogged drain system, or a problem with the motor or tachometer, the main control module is likely faulty. Trying to repair the circuit board yourself without the necessary knowledge is not recommended; you could cause further damage to the appliance. It is better to invite a specialist to diagnose and repair the electronic unit.The control board may be broken

Sometimes the machine will spin the laundry, but it will make a loud knocking noise. This usually indicates that a foreign object has gotten into the space between the tub and the drum. In this case, remove the heating element and retrieve any objects stuck inside the centrifuge through the opening. If the washing machine hums and squeaks during the spin cycle, check the bearing assembly.

    Hansa WHE 1041 fills with water and immediately drains it, writes end.

      Check the drain hose. It should be raised up to the top of the machine.
