How to remove the drum of an Ariston washing machine

Despite high-quality assembly, modern household appliances still require diagnostics and repairs. This is often impossible without removing the drum of the Ariston washing machine. This is a difficult task, usually performed by service center personnel. However, with our detailed instructions, even a novice can handle this process. We'll cover the necessary tools and the step-by-step procedure for removing this component from the washing machine.

How are we going to disassemble the car?

The most important thing is to thoroughly prepare for dismantling your "home helper." First, find a comfortable work area, as you'll need plenty of space during dismantling. It's best to do repairs in a garage or other non-residential space, but if that's not possible, you can simply move the appliances to the living room or another large room.

Be sure to cover the area where you are disassembling the device with dry rags or towels before moving the equipment there.

Once the machine is ready for disassembly, all that remains is to prepare a minimal set of tools. In our case, this will include a number of items.

• Phillips and slotted screwdrivers.
• Hammer.
• Bit.
• Keys.
• WD-40.
• Lubricant for key components of SM.
• Additional components for damage repair.

The last item on the tool list is directly affected by the component that has failed in the drum. For example, if you need to replace the seal and bearings, you'll first need to buy the exact same parts from a hardware store before disassembling the machine. Experts always recommend purchasing only original parts to ensure they fit your Ariston washing machine perfectly. Once the machine has been moved to a convenient location and all tools have been collected, you can begin dismantling one of the washing machine's key components.

Removing the upper body elements

Don't rush into disassembling your appliance; first, disconnect it from all power sources. After that, remove any remaining water by unscrewing the waste filter and placing a container underneath. Then, proceed to the main part of the work, following the instructions carefully.

• Press the center latch of the powder drawer in the rinse aid compartment to easily remove it.
• Remove the retaining bolts that hold the top panel of the CM.
• Remove the cover of the machine and set it aside.
• Remove the four screws located on the cross metal strip.
• Using a Torx key, remove the counterweight and pull it out of the washing machine.
• Remove the fasteners from the detergent compartment, the pipe, and then remove the detergent dispenser itself.
• Loosen the clamp that secures the hose to the tank and remove the part.

This way you will free the top of the tank from all parts that could interfere with your further work.

Rear tank parts

At this point, you'll need to access the back of your Ariston "home assistant." Carefully remove the wall to access the pulley, drive belt, motor, and other important components. To do this, you'll need:

• remove the bolts around the perimeter of the rear of the CM;
• remove the back wall;
• reset the drive belt;
• disconnect the wiring from the water heating element;

Be sure to take photos of the wire connections to the electrical components so that you can use an example of the correctly configured wiring during reassembly.

• disconnect all wires from the electric motor, remove the fixing bolts and pull out the motor;
• loosen the drain hose clamp and then disconnect the hose from the machine tank;
• disconnect the pressure switch tube from the tank;
• remove the central bolt holding the pulley and remove the drum "wheel".

The bolt may be stubborn, so it's best to have some WD-40 on hand in this case.

Afterwards, all that remains is to remove the shock-absorbing spring fasteners. Once you've completed the second stage of dismantling, you'll have access to the drum from the back and top, so all that's left to do is prepare the front wall of the washing machine.

Details of the front part of the machine body

After all these steps, the only obstacles preventing the drum from being removed will be the door seal and the front panel of the "home assistant." So, without further delay, let's proceed to the final stage of the work.

• Open the CM hatch.
• Bend back the outer edge of the rubber seal.
• Using a slotted screwdriver, loosen the metal clamp that secures the cuff.
• Now you need to tuck the rubber band inside the drum.
• Remove the bolts installed around the perimeter of the front panel of the washing machine.
• Remove the screws that secure the hatch locking device.
• All that remains is to lift the front panel up a little to remove it.

At this point, the dismantling will be complete, and you will have access to the tank and drum of the Ariston washing machine. To make further work with the unit easier, you will need to lift the tank and remove it from the hooks. Calmly restore the element to working order, and then follow our instructions in reverse order to reassemble the appliance correctly.
