Removing the top cover of the Atlant washing machine
In 90% of cases, repairs and diagnostics require removing the top cover of the Atlant washing machine. Firstly, several important components are located underneath. Secondly, this step is essential for easy removal of the front panel and control panel.
Removing the top cover of your washing machine is very easy. All you need is a screwdriver. The job itself takes no more than five minutes. Let's look at how to remove the cover of an Atlant automatic washing machine.
You'll have to remove the machine from its niche.
First, you need to prepare the Atlant washing machine for the upcoming disassembly. It is necessary to ensure free access to the rear part of the housing – this is where the bolts that secure the top cover of the washing machine are located. Therefore, the device is moved away from the wall or pulled out of the niche.
If your Atlant washing machine is permanently installed, moving it away from the wall won't be a problem. Unplug the washing machine and carefully move it to access the rear of the machine. After that, you can begin removing the retaining clips.
Things will be a bit more complicated if the Atlant washing machine is built into a kitchen cabinet or niche. In this case, you'll first need to disconnect the drain and inlet hoses from the washing machine body. Only then can you remove the appliance. Here's how to proceed:
- Unplug the washing machine's power cord from the socket;
- turn off the shut-off valve that supplies water to the machine;
- detach the inlet hose from the body;

- Loosen the clamp and disconnect the drain hose from the sewer pipe or trap.
Pull the washing machine out of its niche slowly to avoid damaging the washing machine, furniture, or floor. It is also recommended to lay a floor covering in the area where the washing machine is located. Dry cloths will absorb any water that may leak from the appliance.
We dismantle the lid ourselves
Removing the top cover of an Atlant washing machine is easy. Accessing the rear of the machine is much more challenging, and this is where most of the time is usually spent. The removal itself takes a couple of minutes.
To remove the top cover of the automatic machine, you will need a Phillips screwdriver.
The screwdriver must be of the appropriate size. Here's the next step:
- find the bolts holding the top panel of the washing machine housing;
- Unscrew the fasteners one by one and set them aside. Sometimes there are small washers under the bolts—be careful not to lose them;
- Carefully slide the lid of the washing machine back and lift it up.

Don't just unscrew the bolts and forcefully pull the cover upward—nothing good will come of it. Be sure to slide the panel back first, and only then lift it up. This will ensure safe removal without damaging the fasteners.
Sometimes the lid won't budge. This happens when the panel sticks to the fasteners. This can also be addressed:
- look at the machine from above, visually divide the lid of the washing machine in half (the imaginary line should go across the body);
- gently tap on the top panel of the washing machine, first in the middle, then on the right side, then on the left;
- try to “shake” the top wall of the Atlant washing machine again;

- If the panel doesn't go, repeat the steps again, applying a little more force.
Do not hit the washing machine with heavy objects, as this can dent the body and damage the internal components located directly under the lid.
Once the repair or diagnostics are complete, the cover will need to be replaced. This procedure is performed in reverse order:
- place the top panel in place, shifting it back slightly by 5-6 cm;
- Using both hands, begin to move the cover forward, towards the dashboard;

- wait until the top enters the grooves (you will hear a characteristic click);
- push the lid forward a little more until it is completely in place;
- tighten the bolts removed earlier.
Now you need to return the Atlant washing machine to its original location—move it to the wall or place it in a recess. Next, connect the appliance to the water supply, sewer line, and power supply. Then, run a test wash without any laundry in the drum. Make sure the cycle runs smoothly and there are no leaks. If everything is in order, you can use your "home helper" as usual.
