How to remove the front panel of a Candy washing machine
Removing the front panel of a washing machine can be a daunting task, especially when replacing the drum seal, repairing the door lock, removing the tub, or accessing the bearings. Removing the front panel is actually quite simple. All you need are a couple of screwdrivers. We'll explain how to do it.
It is important to arrange the work area
To easily disassemble the Candy washing machine, you'll need approximately 2 square meters of space. Ideally, you'll move the machine to a garage or workshop—it'll be more convenient to repair it there. However, the work can also be done on-site, without leaving your home.
The first thing you need to do is turn off the power to your Candy machine and disconnect it from the water supply and sewer system. Next, move the washing machine away from the wall or remove it from the furniture. If possible, move the appliance from the bathroom to a larger space, such as the kitchen or hallway.
During the work you will need two screwdrivers: a Phillips head and a slotted head.
Before you begin dismantling the front panel, you should also:
- cover the floor around the machine with rags;
- remove the powder receptacle from the housing;

- Use a screwdriver to pry up the lower false panel of the Candy washing machine and remove the decorative element from the latches;

- place a low container under the machine body, in the location of the waste filter;
- unscrew the "trash can" (as you unscrew the plug, water will start to flow out of the hole);

- wait until all the liquid has drained from the drain hole.
This completes the preparation of the Candy vending machine. Next, remove the front panel. If you are disassembling a washing machine for the first time, it is better to record your actions with a camera. This will help avoid problems during subsequent assembly of the equipment.
Carefully remove the panel
Now that the washing machine is completely ready for disassembly, grab a Phillips-head screwdriver. The next step is removing the Candy cover. The top panel is secured with two screws, which you'll need to remove.
After removing the screws, grasp the back of the cover, lift it slightly, and push it away from you. This will release the panel from the plastic clips and allow it to be removed. Don't press too hard, or the clips will break, making it impossible to replace the top of the washing machine.
Next up is the dashboard. There's no need to remove the entire dashboard or disconnect the wiring from the module. Here's the procedure:
- Use a screwdriver to unscrew all the bolts around the perimeter of the dashboard;
- remove another fastener located in the upper left corner;
- Pull the instrument panel towards you until the latches engage;
- Carefully, so as not to break the wires, place the dashboard on the washing machine or hang it on the service hook.
There is no need to completely remove the dashboard by disconnecting the wires from the electronic module – the panel will not interfere with dismantling the front wall.
Next, you need to remove the drum seal. Use a flat-head screwdriver to loosen the clamp securing it and remove the rim. Then, insert the released seal into the Candy washing machine.
Next, work on the door locking system. Disconnect the lock fasteners, being careful not to damage the locking system wiring when removing the wall. Now, finally, you can unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the washing machine's front panel.
After the above steps, the front panel will come off without much effort. Many people are afraid that the hatch door will interfere with removal and try to disassemble the panel. In fact, this is not necessary – the front panel will come off without any problem.
