Reviews of Somat dishwasher detergent

Somat dishwasher detergentsThe German brand Somat, a product of renowned Henkel and a manufacturer of dishwasher detergents, deserves no less attention than the renowned Finish brand. While Somat's products may not be as well-publicized, their quality is no better or worse. So we decided to find out what people think of this brand's dishwasher detergents by analyzing reviews.

Consumer opinions about Somat powder

Svetlana1504, Rostov-on-Don

After my husband gave me a dishwasher, we faced the serious question of what to wash the dishes with. At first, we tried to buy only expensive detergents, plus salt and rinse aid, which were quite expensive. We used Finish tablets for washing, but they were very expensive, considering we wash the dishwasher twice a day. After using the tablets, we switched to powder from the same brand, which was a bit cheaper. However, not long ago we saw a 2.5 kg bottle of Somat Standard in the store and bought it.

This package of detergent lasted us 3.5 months, which is great. We bought it again because it's so economical. The bottle is convenient and has a spout for pouring the detergent. It cleans dishes and cutlery very well, leaving no streaks or white residue. One downside that is noticeable when opening the bottle is the pungent smell, which is alarming. However, the dishes don't smell after washing, so Somat detergent has become a staple in our kitchen.

Our family has been using a dishwasher for three years now. Initially, like many others, we probably bought the well-known Finish detergents. And I must say, we didn't see any great results, so we looked for a cheaper alternative. We settled on Somat detergent. We were primarily concerned with savings, not cleaning results or quality. However, after using it for a while, we noticed that our glassware was streak-free and free of any irritating odors. The verdict was immediate: Somat detergent was superior to Finish.

A large 2.5 kg package lasts us about three months. Rinse aid from the same manufacturer is used up at the same rate, and salt is used up a little faster. It was thanks to this brand's line of products that I realized how good my Bosch dishwasher is. I'm not pushing anyone to buy Somat products, but if you're not satisfied with the cleaning results, don't assume there's something wrong with the dishwasher; just change the detergent.

I only use Somat dishwasher detergent when it's on sale, as I find the regular price too high and not worth it. Let me explain why:

  • Firstly, the powder dissolves poorly and often remains at the bottom of the machine;
  • secondly, sometimes “white dust” and streaks remain on the dishes;
  • thirdly, it only copes well with lightly soiled dishes, but does not wash away heavily soiled ones.

But I still buy it because for my 12-pack machine, 1 tablet of detergent is not enough, and two are too much. Somat can be purchased for half the regular price, and its packaging is very convenient. Overall, the product is not bad, the rating is satisfactory.

I'm trying to find a good dishwasher detergent, so I'm trying different powders and tablets. I finally bought 2.5 kg of Somat Standard Soda Effect in a red bottle at Auchan. I add 1.5 teaspoons of this powder to my 12-placeholder dishwasher. The dishes are clean after washing, without streaks or whitish residue. The only thing that might not come out is old grease from pans.

The packaging is a bit heavy, but it's convenient. I can say that this is the best washing machine cleaner I've tried so far. I highly recommend it!

It's wonderful to have a dishwasher. Choosing a dishwasher detergent can be challenging, though, as the market offers gels, powders, and tablets. I ultimately settled on powder detergent because it's more economical. The first detergent I bought was Somat Soda Effect. At first, I had no problems, and I didn't notice any residue. But when I tried a different brand at a lower price, I realized there was no point in overpaying, as the results were just as good, if not better.

Please note: Somat brand products are manufactured in Germany, Hungary, Serbia, and Russia.

What they say about pills

Alexa1986Somat tablets

I spent a long time searching for a dishwasher detergent that would be affordable and work well. I finally bought Somat tablets, which claim "excellent results" on the packaging. But I have to say this: never buy them. They leave streaks and unidentifiable stains. The pots aren't always washed. The only advantage is the lack of odor. I am disappointed with this purchase and will look for another product.

Today, I'll share my impressions of Somat all-in-1 tablets. I bought them on sale, a bargain at 28 tablets for $2.99. The packaging advertises the tablets' miraculous properties. They'll clean away dried-on food and leave your dishes sparkling.

I decided to start with just half a tablet, as my dishwasher is small, and half a tablet from another brand is always sufficient. I should note that the tablet packaging doesn't dissolve, so it needs to be opened. To cut to the chase, I'm more disappointed in tablets than ever. I ran the dishwasher again with a full tablet, and I was shocked. The dishes were stained, the cocoa powder didn't come out of the cups, the knives looked like they hadn't been washed at all, and I won't even mention the dried-on food. And the dishwasher ran for almost three hours at a high temperature. Overall, I don't recommend this product.

We recently got a dishwasher, and we're thrilled. There are a ton of dishwashing detergents available in stores, ranging from $0.08 to $0.40 per capsule or tablet. Buying the most expensive ones isn't an option; it's not worth spending too much. We were quite happy with the SOMAT ALL IN 1 tablets. We took a chance and bought the large pack. And hooray, we were right, as the dishes were washed perfectly, without streaks. I recommend them; I like them.

When I bought Somat tablets, I was tempted by the attractive, bright packaging and appearance. In short, the tablets are terrible – they don't dissolve completely, remaining the same as when you put them in the machine. After 3-4 washes, they dissolve, but then the dishes on the long cycle end up washing just as well as on the quick cycle. I felt sorry for the money spent, and I threw away the package with the pills and didn’t use them. Don’t experiment.

People's reviews of Somat gel

JuliaFox, Kyiv

I bought dishwasher gel with a 50% discount. Since I only got my dishwasher relatively recently, I'm still trying to find the best product. Before Somat, I used Finish powderIn short, I washed the dishes with the gel at 65°C and was amazed at how clean the glasses and pots were and how shiny the plates were. There was no odor at all. The results were impressive; I'm going to buy another package on sale. Give it a try; you might like it too.

Somat gel

I'll never buy Somat gel again, even on sale! It has a terrible smell that won't wash out of the dishwasher. I've never had this with other products. The smell shouldn't be gone in a little over two hours, but it's there, and if I'm washing plastic dishes, the smell is really strong. After the wash, I have to air out not only the dishwasher but the kitchen as well. I feel bad about throwing it away, so I wash it and wait for it to run out.

After visiting a bunch of stores, I bought some Hungarian-made dishwasher gel. The packaging is unusual, consisting of two containers connected to each other. The point is unclear, as the gel will mix in the dishwasher anyway, making pouring it extremely difficult. It's also very runny. It doesn't have any harsh or unpleasant odor, and it cleans dishes very well, just as well as tablets or powder.

Another advantage of the gel is that it does not contain particles that scratch dishes.This also makes it possible to clean Teflon pans. Along with the gel, I also use salt and rinse aid at reduced rates, despite the "All in 1" label.

Conclusion: A good product, economical, and completely water-soluble. The downside is that it's too runny and difficult to pour. I recommend it.

Love Sh.

After a week of use, I decided to add my review. I've already tried the powders and tablets, and now I've finally tried the liquid detergent. The smell seemed fine at first, but after a few washes, it started wafting out of the dishwasher and onto the dishes. In my opinion, the fragrances are too strong.

This product also cleans poorly, even terribly. It leaves coffee and tea stains on white mugs, and grease on pans. A couple of mugs were completely ruined with this product, as they developed brown stains. Now the mugs are impossible to clean with anything. Before the gel ran out, I bought another detergent. I will never buy this one again, and I don't recommend it.
