Speed Perfect mode on a Bosch washing machine
The Speed Perfect algorithm was introduced to Bosch washing machines relatively recently. This feature has been featured in all of the German corporation's commercials. Let's find out how useful this program is, or is it just another marketing ploy to attract customers?
What is the essence of the Speed Perfect algorithm?
The Speed Perfect option is available on most modern Bosch washing machine models. This algorithm allows you to reduce the cycle time, while ensuring an unrivaled washing result. How is this achieved?
A special sensor weighs the laundry loaded into the drum. Based on this information, it determines how much water is needed for the wash. The intelligent system opens the filling valve, and the drum fills.
The intelligent system then adjusts the cycle time and drum rotation intensity. Additionally, accelerated heating is used during washing, allowing the bleaching particles in the detergent to activate more quickly.
Since this algorithm operates at a higher water heating temperature, energy consumption per cycle increases slightly. However, kilowatt consumption will not be significantly higher, as the overall cycle duration is reduced.
The Speed Perfect option is applicable to most Bosch washing machine programs, with the exception of short algorithms.
Simply put, enabling the Speed Perfect option significantly reduces cycle time. For example, the standard "Cotton" cycle runs for 120 minutes. By activating this option, the machine runs for just 70 minutes.
It's important to understand that this option should not be used when washing delicate fabrics such as wool, lace, cashmere, and satin. High temperatures and intense drum rotation can cause these items to become misshapen. This algorithm is best suited for cotton, linen, and other durable materials.
Special functions and their designations
The range of auxiliary functions varies across Bosch models. Therefore, carefully read your machine's manual to understand what options are available on your washing machine. These can improve the quality of your wash. Let's look at the additional features available on Bosch washing machines and how they are identified on the control panel.
- T-shirt with a stain. The "Stain Removal" function is designed specifically for heavily soiled clothing. This intensive wash helps remove old, stubborn stains. The cycle is performed in hot water at high speed, so this program is not suitable for delicate fabrics.
- A basin with a vertical stripe. This indicates the "Prewash" option, which functions similarly to a soak. It's added to the main cycle if clothes are heavily soiled. When starting this option, be sure to pour detergent into both compartments of the dispenser.

- Iron. The "Easy Iron" option prevents creasing and creasing in fabrics. This feature rotates the drum at a low speed. This gentle ironing process leaves items less wrinkled and easier to iron.
- A basin of water with an arrow pointing upward indicates the "Extra Rinse" option. It's added to the main cycle for a more thorough rinse, ensuring no detergent remains in the fabric fibers.
Additional functions are not compatible with all Bosch washing machine programs; details on this are provided in the equipment instructions.
It's important to understand that adding extras will increase the main cycle time. For example, the "Extra Rinse" option will extend the cycle by 15-20 minutes, and the "Pre-Wash" option will extend it by 40-50 minutes.
Tips for choosing the optimal algorithm
The choice of washing mode depends entirely on the items loaded in the drum. So, first, sort your dirty clothes by fabric type and color. Don't wash blacks with light colors, and don't mix wool with cotton.
If you're unsure what material an item is made of, check the label. It will list the fabric composition and the temperature rating. Some items are not machine washable and will need to be hand-washed.
The washing modes on the Bosch washing machine control panel are indicated by symbols. The meaning of each symbol is explained in the user manual. The instructions for the automatic washing machine describe each program: to what degree the water is heated, at what speed the spin is performed, how long the cycle lasts.
All Bosch washing machines have the following algorithms:
- "Cotton" (symbol of dress and bodysuit with a flower);
- "Synthetics" (shirt on a hanger icon);
- "Mixed fabrics" (dress and trousers with a flower);
- "Delicate fabrics" (shirt with bow tie icon);
- “Wool” (a basin with a hand dipped into it, a skein of thread next to it);
- "Denim" (pants icon);
- "Sportswear" (symbol of a T-shirt with a number).
The desired mode is selected using the rotary selector. This can be enough, or you can make adjustments to the preset algorithm. For example, you can change the temperature, spin speed, or add auxiliary functions. The cycle is activated by pressing the "Start/Pause" button.
