Bosch washing machine error E00
Bosch washing machines don't display the E00 error very often. At least, according to RuNet forums, only a few encounter it. Users who encounter this code immediately start scrolling through the Bosch washing machine self-diagnostic error table, hoping to find the coveted E00, but they find nothing. Why? Because E00 isn't an error, but a code that means something else. Let's figure it out together.
Let's decipher the code
As already mentioned, the E00 code does not indicate an error, but a positive result that the washing machine produces as a result of service testing. In other words, a washing machine Bosch tells us that the service test has passed and there are no errors.
If you encounter the E00 code, don't rush to call a technician. The solution may be simpler than it seems.

This seems like good news for the user. Since there are no errors, the washing machine is working properly, but the user can't use it for its intended purpose. The display still shows E00, and the machine refuses to wash even after several reboots (powering off and then back on). This creates an absurd situation. On one hand, the washing machine reports no faults, but on the other, it still refuses to work – a logical dead end? Actually, no. You can try resetting the error.
Is it possible to reset the error?
Under normal circumstances, the E00 code on a Bosch washing machine may only appear after certain actions by the user. Specifically, putting the Bosch machine into service test mode and then starting that mode. If the washing machine has no faults, the E00 code will appear. However, it can also happen that you haven't done anything, and the machine suddenly displays this code after turning it on again. There are several possible causes:
- After a short circuit, a short-term failure occurred in the control module, which accidentally activated the service test mode;
- after the same short circuit, some semiconductor elements were damaged, which is why the machine entered the service test mode and cannot be brought out of it in the standard way;
- A small child worked, turned the knob on the control panel, pressed buttons and put the washing machine into service mode.
Almost all modern washing machines have a child lock—a special key combination that completely locks the control panel. Don't forget to use this feature if you have a small child in the house.
The first and last options from the list above are the most common, so let's try to get the washing machine out of service mode ourselves. If that doesn't work, we'll consider another approach. Let's try the following steps.

- Let's disconnect the washing machine from the power supply.
- Turn on the machine and wait until error E00 appears.
- We set the washing program selection knob to rinse (it is located at the very bottom).
- We turn the handle to the spin position (at 7 o'clock, as the experts say), while with the other hand we press the button, which is indicated by a spiral pattern - "spin speed".
- We wait until the image of three eights appears on the display.
- Again, turn the handle two sections to the right (jeans program) so that the pointer is at the “5 o’clock” position.
- Next, wait a few seconds and turn the handle clockwise to the “off” position.
If you've done everything correctly, you'll be pleased to see your Bosch washing machine turn on again, as the annoying E00 code will disappear and your "home assistant" will work as if nothing had happened. If you are sure that you have done everything correctly, and The E00 message still appears. This is most likely a serious malfunction, and it arose in the electronic module of the washing machine. Bosch.
Repair of electronic module
So, if you couldn't clear the E00 code on your Bosch washing machine using the standard method, it's 99.9% likely that the control module is damaged. Moreover, it's impossible to know in advance what's broken in the electronic module, or which semiconductor components have burned out, without removing the board and performing a detailed diagnosis. Is it worth repairing electronic modules yourself?? This is a rhetorical question, unless, of course, you are an experienced electronics engineer and have to deal with printed circuit boards every day.
If, for example, you're talking about repairing the door lock or pump yourself, we're all for it, because even if you break one of them, buying a replacement is easy, as they're common and inexpensive. As for electronic modules, you could really go broke.

For example, the original electronic module for a Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine costs around $460. You could easily buy a new washing machine for that kind of money. Ask yourself: would you, as an amateur, tinker with the part and risk incurring such a high price? If you're a reasonable person, the answer is obvious. It's better to channel your energy into something more constructive. Find a reputable technician to inspect and repair the broken electronic module.
By the way, electronic modules "on Bosch" are quite durable and can be easily repaired.
To summarize, it turns out that the E00 code doesn't alert the user to any error; on the contrary, it indicates that the machine is fully functional. Another question is why the machine entered service test mode and decided to check the system for faults? This question can only be answered by examining the situation on-site. Perhaps this won't be done by you, but by a professional technician. Good luck!

People, don't fall for it.
I checked it myself today!
Off position: Press and hold the start button and turn it counterclockwise one click.
Sergey, did it help?
It helped, thank you very much.
It helped, thank you!!
Everything worked out!
Thanks for the good advice, it helped!
It helped, thank you!
Cool, it helped 🙂
It helped, thank you!
Everything works, thank you.
Thank you very much, it helped!
This option was the only one that helped me too, thanks!
That also helped. The E00 light was on, so I pressed play, start, and turned left. That was it.
Thanks, Sergey! I've read dozens of pages on resetting this error, and they're all pretty much the same as the author: turn, press, turn, etc. If that doesn't help, rack your brain. I stumbled upon your advice by accident, and now I'm enjoying listening to the washing machine run.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what helped 😉
Only the advice from the comments helped me reset it, thank you
Thanks to the person who left a comment! Everything worked out! I was already starting to think about a new washing machine.
Sergey, you're great! The repairman came but couldn't fix it. I read your comment and tried it, and it worked. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment, it was the only thing that helped us! We were already getting ready for another one 🙂
Thanks for the advice! Everything worked out.
