Reviews of washer-dryersWasher-dryer reviews are always of interest to potential buyers of a new home appliance with a previously unknown feature. Consumers tend to trust those who have already used the product, even if their opinions are sometimes biased. In this publication, we've compiled a collection of real reviews from people who have been using washer-dryers for some time and have already formed an opinion. Here are those reviews.

LG

Elvira, 29 years old

My husband, my children, and I have been living in the Moscow region for five years now. Our living conditions are much better than when we had to rent in Moscow, and we can afford a lot now, but some habits, as they say, die hard. The thing is, when I lived in Moscow, I got used to using a tumble dryer because there was nowhere to dry my laundry. Now we live in a private house, and we can dry our clothes outside, but I still prefer convenience. So, after a quick discussion and reading reviews about the washer-dryer combo, my husband brought me a new LG F1255RDS7 washing machine. The equipment is certainly not cheap, but I am very satisfied. The washing machine has a lot of advantages:

  • a very large drum, for as much as 17 kg of laundry, in my case this is just the perfect size, since we have three small children;

I didn't realize this right away, but please keep this in mind and don't repeat my mistakes. 17 kg is the maximum load for washing, and you can only dry 9 kg of laundry.

  • The laundry dries perfectly, you can select the gentle drying mode and then the machine leaves the items slightly damp, so you can iron them straight away;
  • Compared to my old dryer, it consumes much less energy. I was even surprised. According to the technical documentation, it consumes 2.7 kWh, while the old machine consumed 12 kWh. This represents a significant saving;
  • a bunch of different programs that allow you to wash children's down jackets, blankets, throws, and many other large items. I never washed woolen items in the machine before, but now, thanks to the "Hand wash wool" function, I've forgotten what real hand washing is and it's such bliss;

I also liked the "Reduce Wash Time" option; now you can shorten any program if you feel it's taking too long. A couple of button presses and a program that should "dry" your laundry for 2.5 hours will wash, rinse, and dry in 1.5 hours.

Be careful, changing the program time may affect the washing quality.

The machine has a beautiful design, an informative dashboard, and overall, I'm very, very pleased. It's literally the best washing machine I've ever used. I recommend it to everyone!

My wife had been eyeing a washer and dryer for a while, but we'd been hesitant to buy one. There were always some excuse: it was too expensive, we didn't like the models, or we just weren't in the mood for it. Then, six months ago, we took the plunge and bought an LG F14U1JBH2N washer and dryer for a whopping $1,230. I'll admit, I was nervous before buying it, wondering what if it turned out to be a bad machine, a waste of so much money, but my worries soon vanished, replaced by a feeling of profound satisfaction.

Right after buying it, as an experiment, we loaded it with two sets of bed linen and a few small items. We set it to a long cotton wash and dry cycle and went to watch a movie. By the time the movie was over, the machine had washed and dried everything, so all that was left was to remove the bedding from the drum and iron it—it was simply fantastic. Oh, how wonderful it would be if the washing machine could also iron clothes; that would be priceless.

What else can I say about our LG F14U1JBH2N? Firstly, the machine isn't exactly quiet, but it's not particularly loud either. For those looking for a quieter model, I'll say this: our previous Hotpoint Ariston was quieter, but it didn't have as many features, and most importantly, it didn't have a drying function. Secondly, the machine has a decent load capacity of 10.5 kg, which is very convenient; you can wash large items at home and save on dry cleaning. Thirdly, the machine has a beautiful, futuristic appearance, and the touchscreen controls complete the look. Personally, I really like it.

A year ago, I went on maternity leave for the second time. As you can imagine, diapers, undershirts, and rompers are a mountain of laundry every day, and besides the baby, there's also a five-year-old who doesn't seem to be cutting into the housework. My husband works long hours, but still manages to help out quite a bit. He saw me struggling with two kids and piles of laundry drying all over the house and decided to give me an LG F12U1HDM1N washer-dryer. He explained that it was an inexpensive and reliable model recommended by a specialist friend.

At first, I decided to nitpick and look for any flaws, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find any. The controls are electronic and very intuitive. Selecting a wash cycle is easy; you learn how to use it almost immediately. It's quite roomy, and you can wash almost everything in two loads. The best thing is that there's no laundry left on the drying racks, and no dampness in the house, since clothes dry right in the drum. A friend worried that my clothes would smell strange after the washer-dryer cycle, but in reality, they smell like conditioner. At least, I didn't notice anything unpleasant, although I don't have any olfactory issues.

The machine has a bunch of features that I consider unnecessary, like smartphone diagnostics, but I simply don't use them, while the other features are very useful. The LG F12U1HDM1N is an excellent washing machine that has solved even the most annoying household problems.

Electrolux

Alexander, 34 years old, Pskov

Two months ago, I was tempted to buy an Electrolux EWW51476WD washer-dryer. At first, the drying feature seemed like a cool feature, but it turned out to be less so. I overpaid for it by about $350, but I ended up never using it; I just dry my clothes on the balcony. I tried tumble drying a couple of times, but it turned out that drying them in the tumble dryer would give off a strong plastic smell, so I had to give up.

I can't judge all washing machines with a drying function, I haven't used them, but the Electrolux EWW51476WD is definitely complete rubbish. The materials it is made of are clearly of poor quality, especially the plastic.The electronics sometimes glitch, and the manufacturer has clearly overstated the maximum load capacity. And they're asking $1,000 for all this, even though it's worth $200 on a market day. I'm categorically dissatisfied with this purchase and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I checked, 7 kg, it doesn’t wash at all, the maximum it can pull is 6 kg, if you put a little more, it starts to freeze.

Electrolux EWW51696SWD

Elena, 27 years old

My life has changed for the better since I bought the Electrolux EWW51696SWD washing machine. It sounds like a slogan, but it's true. I used to suffer so much when I had to hang out the laundry every time. Those endless clotheslines, those dryers, how annoying it all is! It feels like we live in a communal apartment, but in reality, we live in a three-room apartment in the city center.

Unfortunately, the windows and balcony overlook a polluted street. Drying laundry there is expensive, so I had to endure the constant presence of wet clothes. That's all a thing of the past now, as I now remove my clothes completely dry from the drum. One drawback is that the Electrolux EWW51696SWD is quite noisy during the spin cycle. I tried setting the wash cycle to run overnight, but it didn't work; the washing machine woke up everyone in the house.

Candy

Anastasia, Saratov

I needed a washing machine with a dryer and an affordable price. I chose the Candy GVW45 385TC-07. It's unremarkable in appearance, very similar to other Candy washing machines, but the quality was surprisingly impressive. I was particularly surprised by the almost complete absence of plastic odor. There are no foreign odors after washing or drying, just a slight scent of detergent. There are many washing programs, but I only use a few.

After the first use, I was really bothered by the rattling noise during the spin and dry cycles, but it turned out it wasn't the machine itself, but the poor workmanship of the people who installed it. I called in others, and they leveled it and reinforced the floor, and the rattling almost disappeared. The load capacity is quite sufficient – 8 kg, although the machine can only dry 4 kg, even though the specifications say 5 kg – which is false. Overall, it's a very good washing machine that has truly made my life easier. I recommend it to everyone.

Candy GVW45 385TC-07

I have absolutely no luck with dryers. First, I bought an expensive drying cabinet, but after a month, all the electronics and electrical components burned out due to a power surge. Then there was a dryer, which broke down fatally after six months. My wife jokes that I'll soon be working with just one appliance. Finally, I bought a Candy GVW45 385TC-07 washing machine with a drying function, and for two years now, it's been working flawlessly, knock on wood. I love the washing machine.

  1. The drum holds a lot of laundry: 8 kg total and 5 kg for drying.
  2. The drum rotates very quickly, according to the passport, 1300 revolutions per minute.
  3. It has a touch screen and electronic controls.
  4. There are a ton of functions I still can't figure out. Among them: anti-allergy, baby clothes, curtains, soaking, wool washing, and more.
  5. The washing machine has a delayed start function that lasts up to 23 hours, which I use often.

I'm often away from home for long periods of time, and the delayed start feature is a lifesaver when I need to precisely time the washing machine. The main thing is that nothing leaks and floods the neighbors, but otherwise, everything's great.

Cons: Noisy, vibrates heavily during the spin cycle, and looks rather plain. This design is typical of inexpensive washing machines, which is what the Candy GVW45 385TC-07 is. I paid $760 for it. I think the price is even a little high, although the model is quite recommendable, especially for young families.

In conclusion, a careful reading of people's reviews of washer-dryers reveals that not everything about these appliances satisfies users. However, the reviews are generally positive, indicating that these machines are quite trustworthy. If you're still unsure which model to choose, read this article.
