German washing powder

German washing powdersIn search of the best laundry detergent for automatic washing machines, many women turn to imported products, distrusting domestic household chemicals. German laundry detergents are one such example. How do they differ from other manufacturers' detergents, under what brands are they sold, and where can they be purchased? We'll answer these and other questions.

Peculiarities

It's no coincidence that German-made powders are praised. They have a number of unique features:

  • Firstly, the price for such powder differs significantly; German powders are expensive;
  • secondly, such powders contain more active ingredients, which is why such powders are called concentrated, and concentrated powders are consumed less;
  • thirdly, such powders are not available in every household chemical store.

You can buy German-made laundry detergent at any major household chemicals hypermarket. If you don't have one in your city, you can order it online.

Bulk powders

Let's take a quick look at German bulk powders, examine their composition, packaging, and find out their price.

TOP HOUSE is a concentrated automatic laundry detergent. A 4.5 kg pack is enough for 76 washes, according to the manufacturer. The powder has fine white granules and contains surfactants, zeolites, soap, enzymes, polycarboxylates, and optical brighteners. This formula makes it effective at removing a variety of stains, including ketchup, coffee, and lipstick. Shirt cuffs and collars, cotton towels, bed linen – all of these can be washed with this powder. The items are soft, free of harsh chemical odors, and most importantly, clean. Common packages include 1 kg, 1.8 kg, 4 kg, and 5 kg. A large package costs approximately $24.

DRECO Super is a universal phosphate-free detergent from Germany. It contains surfactants, enzymes, zeolites, fragrance, polycarboxylates, and optical brighteners. Compared to concentrates, the detergent requires a relatively high amount of detergent. A 3 kg pack costs $12. According to the manufacturer, it lasts for 20 washes.

Frosch is a washing powder containing soap, surfactants, and enzymes. This powder is suitable for washing cotton items. However, it's worth noting that the enzymes in its formula work at temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius. You cannot wash silk and wool items in powder containing enzymes, as they destroy the protein structure of the threads. A 1.35 kg package costs about $6.50. For a concentrated detergent, this isn't much; according to the manufacturer, one pack is enough for 18 washes.

Burti is a concentrated, phosphate-free laundry detergent from Germany. It's dye-free and white. It doesn't contain any harsh chemicals, making it suitable for washing children's clothing. This product has been tested extensively and has performed well. It removes virtually all stains, with the exception of lipstick. But you'll agree, you don't often need to remove lipstick from clothing. A 900g package is enough for 18 washes. The price per pack is about $8.

Now let's look at what liquid powders are produced in Germany.

Liquid products

Domal is a universal detergent suitable for all types of fabrics, including delicate ones like silk and wool. It contains surfactants, phosphates (which is not good), enzymes, soap, and preservatives. The manufacturer states on the packaging that 1.5 liters is enough for approximately 20 washes.This product can be used at temperatures no higher than 60 degrees. According to the results of numerous tests, this remedy is one of the least effective.

Domal washing gel

Dromal gel doesn't remove almost all stains on all types of fabrics with 100% effectiveness. Surprisingly, it removes marker, baby food, vegetable oil, and blood stains, but not on every fabric. However, it fails to remove coffee, tea, fruit juice, and chocolate. A 1.5-liter bottle of gel costs about $8.

Dalli med is a liquid laundry detergent. The packaging is completely in German, so there's no need to worry about counterfeiting. It works at various temperatures; the manufacturer claims it can be used at temperatures from 20 to 95 degrees Celsius. This German gel is concentrated and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for people with allergies. It contains no dyes or phosphates, but it does contain enzymes, meaning it's not suitable for washing silk or wool.

Dalli-med laundry detergent

Unlike the previous product, Dalli washes a little better. It copes with stains from blood, ketchup, marker and baby food, but everything will depend on the type of fabric.It also failed to remove tea and coffee stains. A 1-liter bottle also costs about $8.

Burti Baby is a liquid laundry detergent made in Germany. Although it's marketed as a baby detergent, it contains trace amounts of phosphates. It also contains enzymes, optical brighteners, fragrances, surfactants, and soap. A 1.5-liter bottle is enough for 20 washes. Unlike the other products reviewed above, Burti has the longest shelf life of five years. Washing temperatures range from 30 to 60 degrees Celsius. This product emerged as the leader in expert testing, removing the most stains overall.

However, this product also didn't remove tea, grass, or coffee stains. It costs a little less, about $7.

Please note! Liquid cleaners, even concentrated ones, are much less effective at removing heavy stains than powders. Therefore, don't blindly trust advertising. Don't expect miracles from them.

To summarize, there are quite a few washing powders made in Germany. They are economical, preserve the color of clothes and the softness of linens, and most are eco-friendly. But even among them, there is no universal product that can wash everything, removing even the most stubborn stains. In either case, you'll have to use specialized stain removers, soaking, and other washing methods.
