Washing eco-leather trousers

Washing leather trousersModern and fashionable faux leather pants are indistinguishable from those made of genuine leather. However, they are no less popular due to their durability and stain resistance. Faux leather doesn't crack in the cold and is soft and flexible. Generally, it's easy to care for, but it's worth understanding how to wash faux leather pants.

Can you put trousers in the washing machine?

Faux leather items, including trousers, are recommended to be hand washed. Soaking trousers in soapy water is not recommended, as this may damage the faux leather. However, cleaning them with a damp sponge is fine, as this will remove stains.

Important! Be sure to read the product label. The manufacturer should indicate how to wash the item and at what temperature.

Most often, you'll see a crossed-out basin of water on the label, which prohibits washing altogether, or a basin with a hand. This symbol allows hand washing only. There will always be a crossed-out triangle, which prohibits all types of bleaching. If you see a machine wash symbol on the label, select the lowest temperature setting. It's best to wash with a minimal amount of detergent, preferably liquid. This will prevent white stains from the detergent on black leather.possible markings on the label

As for spinning, it's best to avoid it. Let the water drain and let the item dry naturally. This will prevent it from wrinkling or getting damaged. If the manufacturer allows spinning, do so at the lowest setting.

We take care of it in the traditional way

When washing faux leather pants, remember the rules:

  • test the detergent (soap, powder, etc.) on an inconspicuous area;
  • do not soak the item;
  • the leather of the product should be wiped with a sponge, and the lining should be carefully washed;
  • Do not wring the product to prevent the trousers from stretching.wipe the trousers with a cloth

To prepare a soap solution for trouser care, dissolve half the recommended dosage for cotton or viscose garments in warm water (up to 40°C/104°F). This is approximately half a plastic capful. Powdered detergent is more aggressive and should not be used. Place the trousers in the resulting solution, scrub with a sponge, and then rinse gently in a basin.

How to dry without risk?

After a short wash, drain the water, straighten the garment, and allow it to dry naturally. You can lay the garment flat on a towel, covering it with another towel. This will absorb excess moisture more quickly, and the pants will begin to dry. When the pants are almost dry and still slightly damp, hang them on a hanger and finish drying.

Do not dry faux leather trousers, dresses, or skirts on a radiator or in the sun. Avoid using a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Steam generators and irons are also prohibited.

No matter how easy faux leather is to care for, you need to be careful when washing it to avoid damaging it. Try to remove dirt and stains promptly, using only wet cleaning. This way, you won't have to wash your pants too often, but only as needed. This way, your item will last a long time, delighting its owner.
